golden age adverts the way it should be not mention how tv shows were good back then and cartoons plus the good adverts no thanks to people who hate these adverts got band shame a real shame golden age tv has envoled into rubbish tv thats all i can say
I think that some people consider dressing up chimps and getting them to do unnatural things is undignified for these creatures. Not my opinion, though
@BeedleRus I'm guessing they mean that people would claim it was cruelty to animals. (Nonsense, of course: giving someone a cup of tea can never be cruel whatever their species, unless it's that flavourless fruit-scented claptrap that passes as tea nowadays.)
Still, you can't say that sort of thing to the PC-brigade. They're probably trying to prove that the Cadbury's gorilla is a vicious parody of creatures in the rain forest even as we speak.
@BeedleRus "I can't tell if you're taking the piss or not"
Well, yes and no. I wasn't entirely serious when I said they're probably looking to see if the Cadbury's gorilla is an example of animal cruelty. Saying that, I do realise that there are those who on one hand look at cock-fighting, bear-baiting and the neglect of pets and call that cruelty (which it is)... (Continued in next post)
@05005051 ...but then go the extra mile and say that zoos should be illegal and that animals should never work in entertainment. This, to me, is the same mentality that says the word "blackboard" is racist, so while it's not directly "political correctness", it's equally petty and humourless when it runs on blind passion and not facts and rational debate.
@BeedleRus It's on paper in the teachers' training guidance not to refer to it as blackboard. However, it could equally well be an issue of gender, i.e., not wanting to refer to a headmaster as a headmaster on the off-chance that someone should find it sexist. I've met people of these mindsets and they're not always easy to take seriously.
Chimps have been known to live for more than 60 years in captivity...there is a good chance that the entire cast here are still alive. I wonder what they are up to now?

@05005051 So are you one of those people that genuinely believes that people are trying to change the name of blackboards because it's racist?
