i totally agree but i read a few things about the movie and commentary on some websites and suppodely the Decepticons made doubles of some transformers that their primary function was to form Devastator so they couldn't transform into robot mode... it makes sense but I still think Michael Bay brought Devastator into the movie was because he wanted a nice explosion and some effects.

the film was ok but the continuation errors where horrible, after devastator former you can see through the whole desert battle individual decepticons that were part of it missing from devastator the film keeps going back to devastator not missing any parts so longhaul and mixmaster and about 3 others from the 6 piece devostater were standing on their own

that was no error. there were multiple vehicles that were the same. even devastor had more than one vehicle of the same kind. so we have maybe three vehicles of the same kind here. I agree that it was strange but don't you think the makers could not see these so called flaws:P.

Hightower combines with a smaller scoop-loader to form the left arm at 0:48. and overload combines with scavenger to form the torso. overload is at the far left at 0:04 proving he is in the mix and that there are 8 constructicons. why, on any of the toys, Hightower has shovels coming out from under him, i have no idea.

There's one theory going around that the vehicles that turned into Devastator are not the actual Constructicons. Somehow the Decepticons incorporated their alien technology into those vehicles so that's why they merged together. So basically the ones that formed Devastator were just regular vehicles that had Decepticon technology. That would explain why the Constructicons are running around in robot form.

Mixmaster, the cement mixer, becomes the head. Watch veeeery closely at 0:40, and you'll see that Devastators face comes from 'inside' the truck, it kind of 'folds' out, a little hard to see though

optimus has 10,000 moving parts in his transformation...devastator has 80,000. as u see in the transformation, there are some really up close camera angles. thats because of devs complexity, so ilm only moved the parts shown on the screen to save time. the first overnight render caused ilm's computers to litterally explode.

The toy and various pictures make it seem like Rampage(the twin robot that bumblebee fights) is the leg but if you watch the video it becomes the left hand as hightower isnt big enough on his own to make an entire arm.
