@brudi2002 - I have the same problem! I think it has to do with our grass types. I have warm season grass, Centipede, here in NC and it is constantly trying to "run" into the beds. From the video it looks like he might have a cool season grass like Fescue which doesn't run or spread like the warm season grasses do.
Hello Kenny, thank you for the video! Question for you - how do you keep the grass from growing into your raised beds? We have beds and I'm constantly having to keep the weeds and grass from growing in. I feel like I spend too much time every year defining the bed. I'm frustrated! We are now in the process of framing with wood. What's your secret?
@brudi2002 Straw is used to mulch the paths between the beds and keep the weeds down. You could also use shredded leaves, wood chips, or other organic matter but straw is my favorite and will also keep the paths clean when walking thru the garden.

What area and zone are you? What top three veggies would you suggest a garden shouldn't be without?
@pickmusbest1 I'm in Central PA, zone 6. My top three veggies would be garlic, leafy greens like kale, collards, or mustard, and heirloom tomatoes. That would give you a lot to work with in the garden and in the kitchen but just three vegetables would never be enough!
My husband built me raised beds last year (we do have a wood frame). It was wonderful getting in a bit early,
How did you do the cold frame behind you? I tried to build 3 cold frames this year using a wood frame, PVC, and plastic. Worked fairly well, till the West winds tore the plastic and tossed my frames...lol...I thought setting them down inside my boxed wood beds would be enough, I should have screwed them in...live and learn!
@mindyvoss I just used fabric staples or weights like cinder blocks or sections of 4 by 4's to secure the fabric or plastic film to the ground... the frame is made of PVC tubing or bent metal conduit.It has held up to wind, snow, and ice during the winter.
