its the funniest thing. on this ride and the american eagle at points you dont even hear the rumbling from the track. and i always wonder how fast that ride would go up in flames if i lit a match to that thing
wow Viper must be very unpopular :(, i noticed when i was there on the sign it looked as if Viper was pasted on to what looks like an old name for this coaster anybody remember the name of this b4 Viper?
@frenchfrey65 Actually, Viper is pretty popular, and the wait time can be over an hour on busy days. This ride has always been named Viper. It is a Six Flags original resembling Coney Island's coaster.
@JiggidyNDG lol, from this video it sounds dead XD, and i'll take ur word for it, cuz i saw it when i was there, i just didn't c the line, but i noticed when i was looking at the sign for Viper it looked as if it was pasted over what i think might be the original name, Elixer...? idk it was weird
@frenchfrey65 It actually was dead that day! Oh, that sign! That's part of the decoration on the station, and it said something like Peabody's Snake Oil Elixer, part of the theming. I know what you mean.
that was was of my favorite rides when i went there, it was a tiny line, not the biggest intensity and you just got to kick back and enjoy it instead of AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!
@omjurmom96 The Little Dipper was a Kiddieland original, a bit west of Chicago, which closed for good last year. This wooden, 20-something ft. tall kiddie coaster was a first for many in the Chicagoland area, and Great America saved it from the wrecking ball. It's a true Chicago legend!
@omjurmom96 It's not high-thrill like V2 or anything like that, but it's a fun overall ride. Especially with the manual braking system it has. The attendant pulls a large wooden lever to stop the ride. I have videos of it from Kiddieland's final weekend if you'd like to get a preview. Thanks!
Sounds like a heck of a plan!! Have a blast! And yes, I do like to comment back so I can get a personal connection with my "fans" and everyone else. Thanks for the comment!!
I love this coaster but it has a really long line most of the time. Once when i went to Great America (which is often i live the next town over) the wait was longer than raging bulls wait. Anyway good video but what was all that popping noise?
@StormMetal1 For some reason, Viper may be the longest wait. The station house gets packed, and the line is often filled! The popping noise is the wind, as my camera unfortunately picks it up like that.

Most underrated roller coaster at Great America by far. Easily one of my favorites. Right up there with the Raging Bull.
