  • wow i thought u were a teen

  • much better than painting a black square and calling it art! Kazimir Malevich's black square is a joke

  • Awesomeness

  • who cares if its abstract art and you dont think its good enough look how old she is!!!!

  • she is soo beautiful and talented !!! makes me proud to be a romanian as she is :)

  • Most artists who succeed today are rich... :L at such an early age they can afford to use all kinds of materials starting from watercolour to Oil paint. It makes it easier for them as they have more experience... I'm jealous yet feeling so disappointed with myself.

I do so well in art in my school got full marks in one sitting but i never feel good about it because of these child prodigies...whom i will never be.

  • Art is an expression....No one will actually understand an individuals abstract art for the emotions are within the soul, heart and mind of the painter but the image is what everyone can see and therefore everyone will have their own perspective and judgement towards an art piece of that sort, just as humans, how we behave/act is based on our emotions and how we feel inside but everyone else just sees our actions and what we do and they think of it from their own perspectives......:)

  • It annoys me when people compare her to picasso. People don't realise that when Pablo Picasso was 14 he was painting unbelievably realistic pictures. Google: picasso first communion.

To compare children painting abstraction to great painters is just ridiculous.

  • 20 a week woah. Thats nice I made $5 a week

  • There is only realism. Everything else is either incompetence, chaos or fraud. And I do not mean impressions of a realistic nature. I am speaking of hyper-realism, extreme realism; to go beyond the photographic (photographs are flat, and merely references), to approach the actual, the real.

  • Absurd comment.

Is Beethoven's 9th "Realistic"? If you are unable to think in the abstract, that is your handicap, but don't make sweeping statements about art that doesn't depict something you can describe or understand on a bumper sticker..

  • @oldnewsclipster As this video is about painting, my commentary related to painting (although my commentary also relates to drawing); why would you make a reference to music, which has nothing to do with this video? By the way, the words "realistic" and "abstract" have no connotation regarding music; they simply don't apply, and are not a consideration. What was the point of your reply? You didn't say anything of any relevance.

  • @DoctorLawyerWhatever I agree - well said. Accept, genuine - divine - "abstract art," is actually so hyper-real, - so holistic, that it appears abstract only to those not yet seeing it.

  • @famousde Accept? Accept what? Your comment makes no sense.

  • a natural, but not a genius. she will be disappointed when she gets older

  • Sorry art (got touch screen). Its amazing.

  • I have seen and touched her wert

  • Very interesting art style

  • If you were 40 years old and could draw and paint since you were old enough to hold a brush and your work was PERFECTION. I mean your work was like the true masters not picaso or van goah but beatifull sceens and portraits you'd live your whole life unaccepted and the paintings you poured your heart into for months on each piece would be worth O to this backwards world. Forgive my disappointment.

  • @jhartist123 If you are describing yourself, don't be negative. Simply be consistent in finding representation, and don't permit disappointment to linger. When you see garbage sell, and quality ignored, it is disappointing, but you have to eliminate that perspective and give it no justification. Only by consistently producing, and seeking the right representation, is there any possibility of selling. Other than this, it may only be something which you pursue for your own enjoyment.

  • @Ozzrya91

Actually what I meant was nonrepresentational art. That shit is a joke. Abstract is okay, and surrealism....can be difficult to pull off. Still none are as hard as realism.

  • They shouldn't let her touch that much oil at a young age...it's extremely bad for her health.

  • True artists can explode from a human at any age. She's something special.

  • @maryannkohl "all humans are born artists. the trouble lies with staying that way" I think picasso said that, of all people :)

  • I don't see how this is impressive, abstract art seems like a mishmash of random colors to me. I feel true artistic talent lies in either landscape painting or depicting of scenes involving living beings such as people or animals.

  • That's because you have no imagination. Sad. Do you also hate music? Who cares what you "feel," if you do.

  • @oldnewsclipster

Or you're just impressed by blobs of color that have no representation on a canvas other than color theory. Which isn't hard to master. It's people like you that fuel the modern art movement toward abstract that begins to take attention away from the truly talented realism painters. And if I had no imagination, I wouldn't be working as a conceptual artist.

  • In truth, real and profound abstract is anything but random and unordered. But, I do agree that most can't tell what real art is - and, most aren't able to see the order - patterns - and very real forms that a master work of abstraction contains; so,they can't tell genuine artistic revelation from pretended mimic and indication. This indeed does a tragic disservice to the true artist and real works of art. Society stops looking - convinced that there's not much more in art to be finding.

  • @famousde that said, most abstract art.. most any kind of art for that matter - is gimmic and fraud, include the art Alexandra is creating. She doesn't know she's not creating the greatest of art - as she doesn't yet have any other awareness of what great art is. But it's okay, because most all those buying and praising her work, have no clue either.

  • @famousde that said, most abstract art.. most any kind of art for that matter - is gimmic and fraud, including the art Alexandra is creating. • @famousde

It's okay. Abstract art is more about color theory than anything, shapes come second (but all are important to the piece). It's just not my thing. It's much more difficult to pull off a realism piece of a dramatic landscape (Bierstadt provides good examples, go Google him) than it is an abstract piece.

  • @Cruelhazard my post above starting "In truth...," was meant to be a reply to this post starting "Or you're just..."

  • @oldnewsclipster Well as an artist myself (I do realist work) I can tell you that abstract art takes little to no technical skill at all. It's not really anything to get that excited about.

  • @oldnewsclipster You have to respect his decision. I know that painting is more then being good at portraying realism, but just because his opinion is different from your own does not render it invalid. Art isn't about shunning others opinions, it's about freedom of expression.

  • @oldnewsclipster It takes skill to compose great music, whereas abstract art can be performed by pretty much everyone.

  • @Cruelhazard You display your ignorance about "true artistic talent." Thank GOD many artists, critics and lovers of art don't share your extremely limited views. You are free to like or dislike whatever you want, but your taste (again, thank God) does not dictate what constitutes true artistic talent. This child has tremendous talent. Her work at this time was clearly immature and almost entirely derivative, but truly amazing for a child of this age.

  • @Cruelhazard You don't know the first thing about art then do you.

Scenery and animals and people and shit are basic normal life and the thing is. you can get exact replicas with a camera (no im not stating u take a fucking photo of the painting)

Abstract art involves creativity and being able to go beyond normal beings into things thaat arent truly there but are. think.

  • She does nice picassos

  • that is some hot shit art, very impressive and endearing to look at

  • i wish i was that good

  • This is a refelection of the luck of artistic talents in California. That is why the stupid "art" critics created something sensational to sell "their own name". They are just kid's play works. Her works show no grows since her first show. Another poor kid exploited by the egos of media.

  • There are 9 year old children in India and Pakistan who can take an engine apart and put it back together without a manual- if a child is taught or conditioned to do one thing from early age that child will be a master of it. Isn’t this child labor – if a child paint lories in India 60 minute will go to report child abuse

  • This girl is indeed talented but it is completely unfair to even mention her name in the same breath as Picasso. That man was the creator of modern art, he created many other genres like cubism.

To compare him to a ten year old is like comparing Miley Cirus to Judy garland, these so called critics just want to label someone the next Picasso as a marketing gimmick. They can compare her to anyone they want but whether her work changes the psyche of the world like Picasso's did remains to be seen.

  • i absolutely love it. i want to buy her work.

  • Thank you for mentioning two of my favorite artists. Incidentally, I have read every word of the 1,600 page "Complete Letters of Vincent van Gogh", -- more than once. Have you?

Actually, van Gogh did sell at least one canvas (the Red Vinyards), he sold numerous drawings (albeit very cheaply), and he had at least one other offer of a commission, but he turned down money and instead gave the work away, interpreting the offer by his cousin as a form of pity. At the end he was being [cont'd]

  • favorably reviewed and even championed in certain circles. This praise and attention did not sit at all well with him, so inured to self-abnegation. He did not want material success.

Interestingly, you didn't address a single one of the points I made about the artist in this video on its merits. But ironically, you proved my point. Many of the greatest artists, in the years following court patronage, were deperately poor and unrecognized then. So you would think that a young [cont'd 2]

  • child like Nechita, who has been artifically championed by media and critics (as I said: a "marketing ploy"), represents a seachange in that the world now recognizes genius when it sees it?? I doubt it.

These critics have greatly enlarged upon the woefully superficial Picassoesque exaggerations in her paintings to surmise that her paintings are worth millions. They are not. And, curiously, if indeed such a prodigy, why does she not improve with years?

  • You Art Snobs are SO predictable.....

  • If you really know anything about art, you know how wildly overrated she is. It is mainly a marketing ploy, but to be fair, it still requires that she keep painting. But with this much money and attention, anyone would continue with enthusiasm. While I admire her for the effort and taking joy in painting, the work is really not so good, and certainly fails on many levels such as composition, draftsmanship, concept, and "metier".

  • @konzwambii

    @konzwambii

Throughout history there have been those who ''knew'' about art who dismissed the likes of J.S. Bach's music and Van Gough's paintings. I don't buy that you are any more ''knowledgeable'' than anybody with eyes in their head and a brain between their ears.

What do you ''know'' about art that anyone else doesn't? What do you know that those ''experts'' during Van Gough's lifetime didn't? He never sold a single canvas, by the way.

  • Where did YOU go to Snob School? Criticism is easy. Art is difficult.

  • @oldnewsclipster Yes, art IS difficult. That is exactly my message to two groups: those uneducated in art, and those "investors" who find a "child prodigy" around every corner. You call me a snob and yet I stated my admiration for her industriousness. Imagine what you would call me if I really criticized her! For the most part child prodigies in fine art just do not exist. The closest was Picasso, and even his early efforts were rather crude. This girl cannot even draw. Let's start there.

  • @konzwambii I agree despite your comment is one year old. I'm not a cocky person but at that age I would say I was a fairly good artist. I was able to draw realistic portraits. Of course, I was never paid for it. I did it out of boredom. This girl's art is really nothing spectacular. Sure, she has creativity but even I could easily take shapes, objects and colour and mash them all together calling it a masterpiece.

  • @konzwambii I should mention that my realistic portraits aren't the world's greatest but they were decent enough. I wonder if I'd get paid millions for making art out of garbage. Maybe I should get chip bags and straws stuff it in a container call art and maybe make millions? I think not.

  • Where is your facebook page? Visit the D.C. area soon! Pentagon City!

  • love seeing all her work. Keep up the good work Alexandra :)

  • hahaha yes you are a jackass...theres a lot of things i choose not to believe in... but common, how many kids can just do this shit.... yea sure parents inspiration blah blah blah... my paps told me to play sports when i was three.... im a mediocre player at any sport... ive been playing guitar since i was 6...mediocre player at best! these "child prodigies" are amazing..... gillion 202...i agree one hundred persent, i really do hope this girl isnt destroyed haha shes so gifted!

  • It is quite amazing to watch this young woman with her incredible gift - so open and unassuming. I hope the world doesn't disappoint her too much. gillon202

  • its funny for me that these children are called "prodigies" and all you would need to become one is your parents help at a young age, because if they didnt buy her the paints and oils, she wouldnt be recognized like she is today...

or maybe, she actually wanted to pick up the pencil and paper... im a jackass...

  • @deadeye707 She needs talent to paint like that right? I remember my mom tried to wake up my artistic talent at a young age (draw, piano, etc), but not a chance...it is still sleeping until today LOL.

  • lol is exactly correct :D

  • i did this and google payed me 500 dollars a day

  • we read about her today in a test in my ELA class

  • Its beutiful, no doubt, but its not as amazing as it looks;

A child learns and picks up things better then older people, even more then 20 year olds, its essential for surviving that a child learns as fast as a bat out of hell, and art in no different.

  • @cpmc1

contrary to popular belief we do not get more brain cells as we age thus we get smarter as we get older, the opposite is true. we start out with roughly 200 million brain cells at birth and that number is pared down to 100 million by early adolesence. this is a clear explanation why infants can pick up all the nuances of language so fast but it's never been used as a hypothesis for child prodigies. we know they exist but we still do not know why they are so smart at a young age.

  • Its becouse they dont patronise them nearly as much. Its a natural survival trait to learn that fast that good, but you don't need to learn the maximum potential, just "just enough", but when a child is tought things, that, if they lean they will be considered a child prodigy, then they still pick it up, becouse the brain at that age atleast cant tell the difference between "useless" and "usefull", so to keep safe it trys to pick up everything.

That means anyone could of been a prodigy.

  • there is an important correlation between a child brain's ability to soak up information at an accelerated rate (like a sponge) and an child's muscle memory; meaning at a very young age an child may know 'what' she wants to paint but does not have the fine motor skills to carry them out. the finer motor skills fully develope by age 6 but i am not positive about this. although all children have the 'sponge', true prodigies have muscle memory at an earlier age. this is incredible!

  • It's amazing that she can reproduce the style of cubism, however the problem is lacking an understanding of art history and criticism. Cubism was a reactionary movement, one of political import and Alexandra Nechita merely produces decorative art in the style of Cubism. It is devoid of power and of little significance to the future of art and culture. They are aesthetically pleasing paintings removed from the world of serious art.

  • I want to know as much as you oneday! ^o^

  • I heard her agent ( wich "discovered" her) took 66% percents of the painting price during the first 10 years of their collaboration ( or smth like that) . That's the explanation of this prodigy - big money for the dealer.

  • WoW OoO

  • Was fuer ein Talent! Really a "little Picasso"...

  • what's she doing now?

  • she is still painting and she's earning 10,000$ a day , she is great

  • Oh god...I can't stand Picasso...she obviously has talent, but why must she paint in that style? If only someone would show her the works of Maxfield Parrish...*sigh*

  • I would hate if I was ever admired in my life time .

  • i don't think shes prodigy, she just knows how to paint like the masters.

  • I met her a long time ago she's a cool person.

  • Beautiful Romanian Talent!

  • I'm from Alexandra's native town (Vaslui, Romania) and actually lived a few blocks away from where she lived. Couldn't be more proud of her accomplishments. Makes a poor guy from a God forsaken place take pride of it.

  • I own one of her paintings. Shes marvellous

  • her and akiane are amazing and inspiring

  • Hey alex, whats up? Sorry that lucky got really angry but since Zuzu was therehe got mad!! Te pup dulce!!! Your Cousin, Andra Nechita

  • amazing!

  • Alexandra has great gift. Just knowing that the Queen love's it that much....(..SHe very picky when it comes to art)Read all the comments befor I add this, tell you......Admit it, this child is awesome and thank you for sharing this beautiful gift with all of us. FIVE FUTURE STARS

  • This is a real child prodigy, unlikes other children who just splatter paint and get the title of a "child prodigy", she has a gift.

  • Etiology reproduces Geneology: the theory that each individual re-inacts the history of life. It is true of the Thymusorgans protection from thousands of viruses, why not Art, Music, Dance, and Science? Each new generation looks for "holes" in the accomplishments of those foregoing, and in this way leads towards higher happiness & survival quotion. Only those who resist must be shouldered aside if they falsely impede new progress - and now: energy self-sufficiency.

  • bravo , succes in continuare

  • Absolutely amazing! The QUANTITY - big galleries Bursting with huge paintings, each different! Obviously as she is influenced by late Juan Gris & Mexican muralists - WHERE DOES SHE FIND THE TIME??? She either bops them out at one week apiece, or she has a dozen (children?) in a hidden room to do the color filling! Jesus, when you think Da Vinci only did 12 paintings & three were unfinished - it completely boogles the mind. Inspires other Romainian girls I bet!

  • alexandra is great, but in all fairness, da vinci had to make his color pigments from scratch (imagine collecting certain pollen in certain time of the year in certain areas), and he also made his brushes, canvas, thinners, oils, and he glazed several layers that had to dry, plus -let's not forget now -no light (to paint) after sundown!

  • Yeah well Da Vinci had several assistants also. Seriously, many teen artists have a "Cubist Period" as they re-create history to catch up to present critical situation - but Alexandra's is far beyond any of my own or those I have seen. Her MOTHER sure deserves a lot of credit, for providing materials, ambience, and encouragement - all elements in producing a STAR artist or performer.

  • art is subjective, ... in the eyes of the beholder, if what you see makes you feel good, there is no rational argument to defeat it, nor any need for it;

  • indigo child

  • She's awesome!

  • she is my daughter and she is very good

  • Right well then why dod u live in Australia ur just so jealous and wish she was well i know her mom she is my aunt and u shouldnt be lying about stuff like this ok??

  • she is very good and talented.

  • she is my cousin and she is very good.

  • My point, don't get discouraged, everyone is special, everyone is a prodigy given the same non-toxic foods, resonant music & stress free environment.

  • lol I surpassed surrealism at age 8, by 13 I went on to show new worlds of art rather than photo realism. I have my own art history.. perhaps if you would check it out/my videos first than opening your mouth and assuming you might get a glimpse of what I am talking about. Like I said there are other artists in the same situation. My 2 Styles watch?v=rYyocM48HJ8&feature=PlayList&p=E74FF3CEEF784641&index=0&playnext=1&fmt=18

And my Surrealistic abstract watch?v=R5peQpyuLnU I also created the music.

  • i dont care if you dont believe me. she is my cousin my last name is nechita and i dont really care if you dont believe me her dad is my uncle. but whatever i dont care if you dont believe me you dont have to but i know her. yeah.

  • This is the norm, not prodigy. Chemicals are our food which inhibit the mind, destroys neurons in the brain. My artwork, Alex Grey, Roman Villagrana, Carey Thompson, Robert Venosa, Lazaris etc is very intense. We put the time in at an early age. I for instance was able to draw surreal at age 8 and I had no teachers. Listen to bell/glass tones like sound while creating art, makes a BIG difference. She put the time in, she wasn't an instant artist but is very good! Remember.

  • sounds like ur abit self centered.... im glad that u are boastful about ur art... but this is Alexandra Nechitas art not urs... which means everyone came here to admire her... not u... so go somewhere else to complain about how ur art is so intense and how these kids dont have talent.

  • Get a grip my point is that prodigy is a false title in order to lower you into thinking you can't achieve the same. I have promoted other artists that are perhaps equal or above my capability. You just need to be a bit more smarter to know what your talking about.

  • are you stupid? she is a prodigy, you can maybe become like her but not in a few years not in 30 years and she is 10 so this means she is a prodigy, get your definition straight.

  • You definitely are s-lower than I. As I said these abilities come naturally when people aren't intoxicated through foods, injected with neuron destroying vaccines purposely contaminated with mercury etc. I also have a video that reveals a secret about music and art -people draw/think the same listening to the same music and can be an automatic process without having to think about what your doing. Anyone can become a "prodigy" within 1-2 years. Get some education.

  • not true, if it were true people in remote areas of the world all would be prodigy's whitch they clearly arn't, this is as bashar (channel) sayed a new race of humans.

  • There was led cups in medieval times, low/poor nutrition drinking & smoking has been around at least since ancient Egypt.. -mothers were drinking & smoking while pregnant. Opium & other drugs have been around for ages too. As I said get some education. I am actually defending your right to be brilliant yourself. These artists are very good I haven't been saying anything less. Only small group of people slip through by chance, others have knowledge & foresight to keep themselves at peak health

  • what you are saying is that no prodigy's were ever seen becaus everyone was doing smoking or drugs? do you know how unrealistic that is? if your theory is right than allot of prodegy's would be produced trhough the ages. also in china in the hills people live 120 years easely why? becaus they have the best food and life style but are they known for art or anything to that effect? no.

  • there are tons of factors that is compatible to our generation. The poor or specifically the uneducated didn't have the same opportunity i.e lack of nutrition, contamination etc. You will see some traditions of India actually improved this situation & thus have a rich culture of artwork many state still exceeds North America & Europe. More intoxication=less fine art. why?because it destroys neurons Not everyone in the past was able to live comfortably to do art. hard labor survival was the focus

  • that is so true! wow

  • also there are no references to prodigy children in other century's which would be there if your theory is followed. caus there was no fluoride in those era's nor geneticly altered food.

  • Your trying to find every excuse not to be as intelligent yourself! Only in our century do people look into history & label people from fairly rich families like Mozart a "Prodigy".

  • I know that we internat beings are smart and can be great and I am educating myself every day with more love than I ever whent to school with. but drawing like that isn't simply getting of the toxicity, I'm telling you its the old souls the indigo's. we are arriving at a periode in our history which will be so significant that we can only dream about it.

    any how. peace and love

  • Fair enough :) it has been my experience that music can control your hand movements like the way your body may respond to music while dancing. Some people aren't aware that music can influence hand movements/perception and often without the music it is residual memories (a catchy viral tune) replaying in the mind that we draw from (neural network). I feel every soul is already perfect... ;) love&peace.

  • k this was 13 years ago..

  • You should learn how to compose a grammatically correct sentence before you lecture anyone on anything.

    -translation-

    u need 2b smrtr

  • thanks for that translation, lol

  • wow

  • personaly. I don't like picasso at all.

  • as for the comment below. saying you hate a 10 year old girl? What the hell you sick asshole!!! she is awesome. Lets see you do what she does. What a clown you are !!

  • What "she does" is just a duplication of what Picasso and Chagall did. Therefore, she "does" nothing.

And I never said I hated a 10 yr old girl. I hate an overhyped washed-up twentysomething who's still as egotistical as she is in this clip.

  • Everyone is intitled to their opinion. But hating anything. or anyone is foolish. I try not to take the world literaly. Or personaly. This world is an illusion/prison/school.

  • LULZ

  • I've always hated this bitch.

Go look at her stuff now- she hasn't evolved at all...

  • geez thats harsh

if you were half that good at her age you would be pretty damn good!!!!

    leave her alone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • If she were a decent person, I might be inclined to judge her less harshly.

  • i'm sorry, you can't compare her to picasso, he invented a genre, she's good, but should develope her own style, your'e right person below.

  • Imitation is not art. She's good though, but needs some guidance. And originality

  • HERE WE GO WITH THE ADDONS.. 8-|

  • Cool!! Fantastico!!

  • nice work

  • Elvis Presley was the greatest singer who

    ever lived.

  • e geniala romanca noastra

  • yeah and hitler was a fag. nobody should make ppl swallow salt water until their tongue is too swollen to fit in their mouth or bring them outside naked on a below 0 degrees day to lay in the snow until it urnt them in agony. the holocaust was a terrible thing and nobody should worship hitler as a god....try doing what she does retroman whatever. bet you cant

  • no, but hitler could. And he was not a fag - he condemned homosexuality

  • wow. youre very nice to a child prodigy...can you do what she does?

  • like to see u do better jackass

  • how many sketches have u sold? that girl has sold millions of dollars worth of paintings, her art must be in the hands of alot of collectors and museums. i doubt anyone would buy your shit . so shut the fuck up cocksucker

  • thanks for the possitive comment! finnal these ppl can respect my sis!!!

  • The same can be said of Thomas Kincade.

That does NOT make it art.

  • hitler was better

  • how fuckign dare you say that to me and my sister and my family.. you fucking lame ass iddiot.. to fuckign hell with you.. you fucking lame son of a bitch..

  • How fucking vain do you have to be to think I was talking to you? I don't even know who the fuck you are. fuck you and your sister. Hitler was a God when it came to painting! HAIL HITLER!!!!

  • wow ok.. whatever... are you natzi ?

  • No,I'm just a fan of his art.

  • his "ART"... you call that art... its murder. straight out fucking murder. plain murder... ok well i think you and i should stop this convorsation.

  • He's really refering to painting dude, look up his paintings, they are really good, you can't disagree once you see them..

  • hitlers art sucked ass , thats why he wasnt allowed entry into the art school he wanted to join lol

  • No, it was because he couldn't paint people for shit.

    SO STFU IGNORANT ASSHOLE!

  • get off of hitlers dick u fuckin fag

  • Why are these "child prodigies" always from Russia or Romania?

  • Yet they move to America...

  • Year and a half old painter. New show this June 2008:

    watch?v=KfMkfqWHSzs&fmt=18

  • she needs to paint an elaborate 10,000 dollar bill and sell it for that much :O

  • It's nice to see a child prodigy who's got their head on straight. She realizes this is her talent and that she doesn't owe any omnipotent being anything because He "blessed" her with this skill. Beautiful paintings from a beautiful child.

  • it's what you call a savant , weldone girl

  • FINALLY a brilliant young artist who does not profess the will of GOD!! She is magnificent! My goodness, she actually suggested that she does it for herself. Is it so ludicrous that a child can excel on their own address and her unique condition?

  • Wow, I think she is very impressive and sweet too.

  • i know in real life her brother is my best freind

  • I've been following her work for about 10 years now. She's awesome! Some people are so naturally gifted with a certain talent that that is what they were born to do. Alexandra was born to paint!

  • Lol, I paint on the ground like that. I can't stand the little wooden posts you have to put the canvas on.

  • She's now 22... Not a kid anymore, but just as shining!

  • I met you here in Washington DC. Pentagon Mall Gallery. You are every bit as beautiful as your paintings. Thank You.
