  • Hi guys I bought the fine fix s3300 about a year ago, I having been impress by it at all and regretted buying it, but from I watch this video even if it is for the s3400 but I’m sure it more or less the same functions, its turn me round as I now sort of know how to work it.lol. When I’m in SR MODE it doesn’t seem to change till the deferent functions it should it stays on auto must of the time can you please help.. Great videos BTW..

  • @ltsfay Yes, both the S3300 and the S3400 are similar cameras, they only differ in Zoom but other than that, image quality and features are identical. As far as the best mode, although SR mode is good for most situations, If you want to shoot in Auto, I would use the "P" Program Auto mode instead. I then would change the ISO to AUTO (800). We that, i can shoot majority of scenes. If shooting in the dark, use the built-in flash. You can also shoot "A" aperture mode too.

  • Is the aperture good enough to blur backgrounds on portraits ?? and if the answer is yes can you post some photos ?

  • @Ionchinezu Due to the sensor size actually, creating a Shallow Depth of field is much more difficult on this camera. Zooming into the picture will help but not the same level of shallow DOF like a DSLR with a large sensor.

  • I am planning on going to Miami in a few weeks and i need a camera that will be good for taking photos in a football stadium. I was wondering if this camera would be good for long distance photos and night time shots.

  • @batista1018 For lowlight, there are better cameras out there including our new HS30 or X-S1 cameras. Performance is better with this camera in good lighting. It might be difficult for this style of camera for long distance photo's at night.

  • would this camera be good for nature and wildlife photography? great vids! thanks.. :D

  • @TheBartyBoii This camera would be good for this. For more professional looking photo's, of course a DSLR with a expensive telephoto lens would be best. A tripod is highly recommended when shooting wildlife as well as patients. Good lighting will help with obtaining fast shutterspeeds to prevent blur in the image.

  • I just saved up and bought this camera, and then watched this video, now I know how to use it! Thanks!!

  • I really want this camera and u have make me want it more!

  • PLEASE HELP :)

i have this camera and for some reason when i put continuous shot on it doesnt work , why is this >??

    thanks :)

  • @111mattman Try setting the camera to the "P" program mode and then pressing the "Continuous" button. You can also shoot in other modes like "A" "S" and "M" too. Some shooting modes don't allow you to shoot in the highspeed continuous shooting mode.

  • Awesome Camera

  • How do you use flash on this camera? when i press the flash button it doesn't do anything..

  • @meowselina Hi, You need to first "Pop" the flash up by pressing the button near the top and beside the flash. Then, you can control the different flash options using the direction pad.

  • can you tell me what are the best settings for taking pics of the moon and also can a remote for the shutter be attached to this camera. the s3400 I am talking about. Thanks.

  • @saltwatervilla 1. There is no remote release for this camera. Please use the self-timer feature (2sec) to prevent camera shake. 2. Use a tripod for moon shots. Shoot in manual mode, Set ISO to 100, play around with different shutterspeed, for aperture (on this camera, it doesn't really affect anything).

  • what is the difference between nimh rechargeable and Low Discharged NiMH batteries and y sanyo is best in Low Discharged NiMH batteries ..please reply this one and my last question which is most important .

  • @aliexe110ster Low Discharged NiMH are new. Older NiMH batteries would automatically discharge without use. So in a month's time, your fully charged batteries would be dead and would need to be recharged again. With Low Discharged type, they keep their charge. They typical also have less mAH ratings then normal NiMH batteries however due to their design, voltage stays higher and therefore gets more shots than higher rated normal NiMH. If you can, go with Low Discharged

  • @fujiguys thanx fujiguys u really make me comfortable as i was thinking that there may any faullt with 3 day old camera as i bought it from online shopping which in india is not prefeered way for shopping ..ill get this one soon and 1 more more thing..at what extend i can use the memory card so that camera does not perform slow means what is the memory card limit like upto 8 gb or more can i use 32 gb card and keeps camera performing smoothly

  • @aliexe110ster I recommend a class 6 rated SD card or higher. As for memory, 4GB would be the minimal size (prefer 16GB). But the rating needs to be Class 6 or higher for best performance.

  • igot this camera 3 days before with 4 alkaline battery which company provided after they got emptied i already have 4 rechargable ni mh battery which are working fine with my old sony camera but when i insert them into my s2950 camera just blink and goes of itried with some other camera and healt of battry was good but i donno y they are not working with this and i have alraedy change dthe nimh battery in set up .please tell..

  • @aliexe110ster Perhaps the NiMH are not in very good condition anymore and their voltage may be lowered to the point that it can't power the S2950. Please try new NiMH batteries. Recommend Low Discharged NiMH like Sanyo Eneloop as they work best. In fact, Low Discharged NiMH work best for any device using AA.

  • @fujiguys what is the best settings to shoot moon..like night mode..ora,p,s ,c or sr auto ..ifone of them plz tell me the seetings what shuld be what,,thanx

  • @aliexe110ster Manual mode, control the shutterspeed by using long exposure (experiment with best shutter speed), set ISO to lowest, and place on a tripod.

  • What about alkali type ?

  • @1953PE Alkaline Batteries, Any AA type works. But highly recommend rechargeable NiMH batteries instead.

  • Is it advisable to leave the batteries in the camera when you are not using it and will they discharge when the camera is not switched on?

  • @1953PE Yes, you can leave the batteries in the camera. For NiMH batteries, they will discharge slowly by themselves. Ensure you charge them prior to using. If you have new Low Discharged NiMH batteries like Sanyo's "Eneloop" brand, they will hold it's charge.

  • Just bought the S3400, what a brilliant camera. 10/10 very crisp and clear shots. Thanks guys for all the info about this camera.

  • I like your video, but..I received this camera for christmas & want to know more about shutter speed..what do the numbers mean exactly

  • @undeadBOARD3R The shutter-speed controls how much light enters the cameras len and it's exposure to the sensor (CCD). The faster the shutterspeed (larger number), the less amount of light reaches the sensor. The slower the shutterspeed (small number), the more amount of light hits the sensor. Shutterspeed will determine how bright or dark your image will be. It also has another effect. Fast shutterspeed will freeze the action, while slow SS will blur the action.

  • What If The S3300 Get's The Present Symbol On The Screen when your viewing your pics?

  • @TheTommyboy59 It means you have viewing an image shot from another camera. If that's the case, some functions can not be performed on the camera (i.e. crop, rotate, etc..)

  • can you attach filters to this camera

  • @pkdukesnides1 There is no thread for attach an adapter ring. You might find a 3rd party adapter that will allow for this. Please google.

  • how do i date&time stamp on the pictures taken.

  • @bhaskarinvu There is no date&time stamp feature on the camera. To add date and time to the image, please use the included My FinePix Studio software or a 3rd party.

  • whats the difference between s3400 and the one i just bought s3280 , and is s3280 a good cam

  • @mrplatinum919 Both the same cameras except for zoom. S3400 offers 28x while the S3280 offers 24x. Not much differences. Everything on this video applies to the S3280 also.

  • My wife just bought me the S3400 as I do freelance photography and I must say I absolutely love it. I would like to know, can you use digital camera lens filters on this model? I'm shooting a wedding in a month and just making sure I have everything together for it. Also, on average how long should the batteries last?

  • @MikeWPG74 Unfortunately, there is no thread on the lens to attach filters. There are probably 3rd party adapters that allow for this, please google. As for battery life, Typical rechargeable NiMH batteries will last between 300-400 shots. If you buy Low Discharged NiMH batteries (like Sanyo Eneloop), you will get even better performance.

  • I've got this camera and its awesome!

  • I have this exact camera, but i have a question, do i have manual focus on the video option?

  • @YourMyDinner There is no manual focus on the video option.

  • @fujiguys is there a manual focus for pictures?

  • @pkdukesnides1 No Manual Focus for both photo's and videos.

  • @fujiguys No manual focus for both photo's and video's

  • @fujiguys what about manual zoom

  • @pkdukesnides1 This camera zoom is electronic. If you are looking for a camera with MF and Manual zoom, please have a look at the HS30EXR or X-S1 cameras.

  • i want to use this camera for night video shots is they any helpful techniques to using it in the night or any good attachable lights available

  • @zone2121 I would set the Movie focus to "Centre". As for lights, we don't offer anything so i can suggest. I would say a standard video camcorder light would work as long as it is self powered and not needed to be connected to the camera (other than mounting on the hotshoe).

  • Is the camera lens changeable?

  • @MrH0U No. The lens is fixed to the body of this camera.

  • i have this camera and while recording HD video it only lets me use digital zoom not optical, can anyone help???

  • @thehamsterplanet GO to the SEtup menu of the camera and change Movie Zoom Type to: Optical (Opt) instead of Digital (Di). Press menu/ok and go to the setup tab, then scroll down to see Movie Zoom Type.

  • @fujiguys thanks a lot :)

  • any difference btwn body material and design in s3400 and s4000???

  • @burubura No. They are the same. Only difference in lens construction but physical size is the same.

  • Can i take professional pictures with it?

  • @KUBELism only if you're professional and judging by that comment I assume you're not

  • @KUBELism Professional means you make money out of your pictures. If you take a photo and sell it, you are a professional :-) If you mean photos that look like they come from a pro, well, what's important is lighting, you have studio lighting, images will look very good, of course with this style camera, its hard to isolate the subject and "blur" the background due to the sensor size being small compared to a Digital SLR

  • Plz Answer What happends if the S3300 gets wet

  • @TheTommyboy59 it dies

  • @TheTommyboy59 Splash of water shouldn't be an issue. Avoid water of course if possible. As for underwater, it's not waterproof and water will cause damage to this and any electronics.

  • Thank you guys. I really appreciate your answers. Now I'm about to check local camera shop for close view.

    Happy holidays !

  • Will somebody answer to my question ?

  • I'm a bit confused. I want to buy Canon SX130IS but now i wonder between Fujifilm s3400 or Canon. Please help me. I love superzoom but what about twice the size, heavier and two more batteries. Does it worth to buy Fuji only beacause of the zoom ? What about features ? Doesn't Canon heaving more options like 28 scene modes and stuffs like that.

    Thank YOU !

Merry Christmas and Happy new YEAR

  • @kiss9402 They are both probably great cameras. Go to this site and you can compare any camera you whant Its called snapsort.com

  • @kiss9402 Either camera will work for you. If you require additional zoom, the S3400 is a great camera for that. If not, the SX130IS is smaller and might be easier to lug around. With either choice, you can't go wrong. As for the scene modes, there is not much differences. For S3400, it does offer some manual exposure controls so you can experiement with different exposures. The SX130IS does not offer this nor an Electronic Viewfinder.

  • What Happens If It Gets Wet?

  • Hey Guys, I just got my fuji camera few days ago, and i watched your videos, and I am trying to do the macro setting, where the object and close and the background is blurry. Ive tried it on mine and can't seem to make this happen. It just takes a normal picture. Any tips? :(

  • Is The S3300 Waterproof?

  • @TheTommyboy59 No, It is not waterproof. Only the XP series of cameras are waterproof.

  • Can you switch it from 16:9 to 4:6?

  • whats the difference between this and the s4000?

  • @jbishmusic Zoom only. Features, Function, and Image Quality are the same. Zoom on S4000 is 30x, S3400 is 28x. Not much differences really.

  • Do you suggest I get this camera? I love superzoom I also like sports mode aswell as supermacro. Also is it good for taking pictures of people playing hockey?

    Thx

  • I picked up this camera today...You guys rock..thanks

  • Just picked this up today, these videos are a real help.

  • CAN U PUT FISHEYE LENSES ON IT?

  • Hi, Please can you do a video on the shutter speed of the s3300 thanks

  • @atlasalan123 Check out this video on S3400 on how to adjust shutterspeed and aperture. Both the S3300 and S3400 are the same cameras.

  • @ming57 Yes.

  • @ming57 Yes

  • I recently purchased a Fuji S4000 and I was wondering, is the on/off switch supposed to be a little elevated towards the left or is it supposed to be fixed tightly to the camera itself? Cause the switch on mine is raised a little on the left..

  • @elmntstev Slightly elevated to the left (on the On) side. But not much. There should be a lot of play. Switch not completely flush with body (if that is what you mean). that is normal.

  • Is it possible to eliminate the sound / volume while recording? I record my kids' wrestling matches & cheerleading competitions where there's a lot of background noises, people talking, etc. that I DON'T want on the video.

  • @LorraineWendel74 No. Audio will always be recorded. You can use video editing software to remove the audio afterwards if you want.

  • Are You Going To Do A Review On The S3300??

  • @TheTommyboy59 No. That S3300 is the same camera as the S3400. Only difference is zoom, 26x vs 28x. Other than that, image quality are the same. Use this video for info on the S3300.

  • Hi Billy i buy this camera...! but i think don't work in SR Auto, always is in mode Auto dont change to Macro if i put something very close to the camera... plz answer me...! Thanks! :D

  • @Malaghanth Hi. Sorry for the delay. Is SR Auto still not functioning correctly for you? Ensure that for Macro, that the camera is within the Macro focus range. Too close and the camera can find focus and won't switch to Macro. Try keeping the camera approx 10cm away first to see if it switches to Macro automatically while under SR auto.

  • please reply .... hii .... i really want to get either this camera or the s3300 camera , i am mostly using iv for video , but also want great pics , what one do you think i should get ?? thankss :)

  • @111mattman both cameras are the same, only difference is zoom range. Both have the same performance.

  • Can you please describe how to make better shots with shutter speed? I keep getting really blurry pictures.

  • @MsDeathPhoenix Blurry images has to do with a few things. Poor lighting in the area causing the camera to use slow shutterspeed. Or incorrect focus. In order to reduce blur, you need to obtain a faster shutterspeed by increasing the lighting in the area or taking pictures in better light, use the flash on the camera, or increase the ISO ofrsensivitity of the camera which will allow the camto use a faster shutterspeed. Set camera to P mode, set ISO to Auto (800). If pics are blur, use flash

  • Whats the battery like?

  • @N17Videos Uses 4xAA. Alkaine: 300 shots, NiMH: 500, Lithium 1 time use: 700, Good set of Low Discharged NiMH: 600+ shots.

  • @fujiguys Thanks

  • Have you done a review on the S3300?

  • @TheTommyboy59 No, but the S3400 is the same camera. Only difference would be zoom with the S3300 having a little less. Image quality however on both would be nearly identical.

  • @CMagicmartin I typically shoot in the "P-program auto" mode and set ISO to Auto (400). I use flash when needed. This works for most situations. Anything else, i set to manual mode and adjust exposure accordingly.

  • Does the Fujifilm FinePix S3200 Long Zoom Digital Camera have recording ability

  • @PaulDavisify Yes. It records 720p HD video. Can you zoom during video recording.

  • greg's boner at 0:46

  • Hi Fuji Guys! Just wanted to say thanks for all the great and informative videos! Will be purchasing the S3200.

  • Hi guys! So, say i want to take a long exposure shot, how do I set the camera?

  • @marylao90 Set the camera to the "m" mode. Set ISO to low number like 100 or 200. Use a tripod. CHange the shutterspeed to what every exposure you need (1 sec, 2 sec, etc..).

  • @fujiguys Got it!! thanks a lot!

  • thanks guys very informative

  • just out of interest, what camera did you use to film this video? It's brilliant quality, and clearly a good memory card has been used too. Thanks

  • @FantaSeaGirl15 Using DSLR due to the fact we need a camera with an external mic input (no fuji currently offers this). Quality of video is due to proper lighting (we are using two light stands). In fact, even the S3400 will look like this with good lighting.

  • wonderfull vid

  • chargable battery? image stabilizer?

  • @TheCpcheatshome Camera includes AA Akaline. You can buy rechargeable AA (low discharged NiMH batteries are recommended). As for Image Stabilization, Yes it has it via the Sensor Shift technology.

  • I've got a problem -_- .. I bought this camera 2 days ago. And I got a 8 GB SD card. I made a few videos and only one uploaded on my computer ( the smallest one) and i played it and it was VERY fuzzy. Is it because I need a bigger SD card? like 16 or 32?

  • @DeeCheetahGyal No, nothing to do with your memory card in terms of capacity. Check to see that you have the video set to 720p HD video (1280x720). Set the camera to the MOvie mode. Press menu/ok and ensure you have the Movie Quality set to the above.

  • What is the difference between S3200 and S3400?

  • @takacsbalu1 Zoom. S3400 has 28x, i believe S3200 is 24x. Other than that, image quality is the same.

  • @FictionSkull lowlight its average, night time = use low iso and long exposure, indoors = use the flash. Whitebalance is pretty good on this camera and images do look very sharp in good lighting.

  • I bought this camera and i am disappointed by how its Continuous AutoFocus works during making a video. YOU CAN HEAR THE THING INSIDE KNOCK/GRUNT as it autofocuses! And when you play it back, it comes out really loud! That makes me sorry i bought it! :(

  • @MrTFcollector While in the Movie Mode dial, press the menu/ok button and Change the AF mode on the camera to Centre. This will prevent the camera from continously adjusting focus and help with the clicking sounds during video. The camera will however adjust exposure if moving the camera around and it may capture the exposure mechanism on the camera adjusting itself.

  • Can This s3400 be used to shoot musical videos, and can it work wit a wireless mic

  • @musimusik2 No external mic input on the camera. As for the video, you can shoot anything with good lighting.

  • i own the S3200 and LOVE IT.

I take B&W, cool lightpictures with low iso and high shutter from freeways, moving objects etc and get a REALLY good quality (got it on L 14mp and Fine). I'm really proud to own this camera and when the real photagrephers try it and actually like it.. it's a big plus.

With a little help from my friends (the real photographers) we get nothing but VERY good pictures from this camera, it's all about ISO, shutter speed and aperture.. and ofcourse, a good camerastand.

  • Does this camera film in 720p?

  • @0692gustavo Yes, 720p video at 30fps.

  • Comment removed

  • I bought this camera two days agoa nd was just wonderig if there is anyway to attach an external microphone to the camera for taking video?

  • @xTWI5TYx Hi. Sorry. This model does not have an external microphone port.

  • @fujiguys ok thank you

  • Could you take videos on the s4000

  • @Thestanderz Only difference for the S4000 and this camera is the zoom. S4000 (30x), S3400 (28x). Everything else is the exact same so this video should be good for the S4000.

  • I just bought this camera. Did comparisson shots with it, and my Kodak 6MP Easyshare, and my Kodak takes better pictures. Fuji camera quality always has a weird 'smudge' look when I zoom in with PhotoShop. I think it's going back to Staples. I do like the Panorama feature. But for 14 MP, it should kick ass on my 6 MP Kodak, but, it doesn't.

  • Could someone please tell me what the numbers on the top of the barrel of my zoom lens means and how each side relates to the other...ex..500|89.6. I have a Finepix S4000. Any help with that would be greatly appreciated. ;-) Thanks.

    b/b)O(

  • @avallonmist The number on the barrel is the focal length of the lens. i.e. 24mm (Wide-angle), 50mm, 300 mm, 720mm (full Telephoto) equilavlent to 35mm. 24mm-720mm is the focal range of your camera. 720mm/24mm = 30x Zoom. Hope this helps.

  • Hey guys ! this camera looks AWESOME! i have a few questions for you guys.

-how is the sound? would it be good quality enough for a youtube video? same with the video?

-does this use a lot of the battery juice?

-what camera do you guys use for filming?

if you can answer these, i will appreciate it a lot!! thanks!

  • @YourMasterNoah Sounds good. External mic is always ideal for filming however. As for batteries, using Low discharged rechargeable NiMH would be best. For our videos, we use a DSLR for the reason of (External Mic Input), otherwise with the control lighting in the room, most cameras will do a good job for video.

  • hi there...i've got this camera for christmas. i was trying it out for a few mins before it got wrapped and put away. is there a way to turn off the sound on the camera. that beeping everytime you press a button is a bit of an annoyence :/

  • @amberellimoschops Press Menu/ok button, select "Setup" screen, change the shutter sound to: Off, change operation sound to OFF. For quick access, use silent mode (hold DISP for a few seconds). It will disable all sounds and lights from the camera. To disable, press DISP for a few seconds again.

  • @fujiguys thats great! thanks

  • Very Goooood! congratulations

  • What is the internal memory for the Camera if t has any?

  • @NeonDino23 Hi, Internal memory is not available on this model.

  • while recording video, does this camera also record sound? if so is the sound quality good or should I consider buying a separate microphone

  • @trolarilole Yes, the camera records audio. Sound quality is average. There is not input on the camera for an external microphone. At the end of this video, the video clip is from the camera, you can hear the audio there as an example of check Youtube for S3400 video samples.

  • I'm researching for a new Fuji camera. My current one finally died after 6yrs. I love Fuji Camera's!! It was just a 3.2mp but I always got complements on how great the pics were. I was looking at the S4000 but I don't like the fact it records the zoom in and out noise it makes while in video. Why does it do that? I'm a pretty avid amateur photographer. Which Fuji camera would you recommend for $250 or less? Thanks!

  • @iamaphotonut The microphone will pickup noise from the zoom motor on the camera. If you want to avoid the noise, set your zoom prior to shooting and don't zoom during the video. As for suggestion with Fuji cameras, The 2950, S3400, or S4000 would be good choices. 2950 offering 18x zoom, while S3400 offers 28x and S4000=30x. The three cameras however are similar in feature and quality. Good sales price should happen around September if you could wait.

  • @fujiguys Thanks for the reply! I was planning on buying a camera in Sept so that works out great. Do you know about when it Sept they will be on sale?

  • @iamaphotonut If in Canada, i see it now at $199 at Best Buy. I am sure other retailers will follow.

  • @iamaphotonut go to walmart dot com and you can find some really good deals and good warranty thats where am getting mine :)

  • was this short shot on the fuji s3400?

  • @JImmyBTTP Any samples in the video were shot by S3400. This video you are watching , shot with DSLR (with Mic Input)

  • @superscooterkyle Sorry. There are no effects built into the camera other than shooting Black and white. You can always use photo editing software found on the internet.

  • i love fuji

  • Does this camera have the feature where you can take black and white pictures? Also if I wanna make a movie that doesn't look like a homemade video, would this be the camera?

  • @Exlax123 Hi. The camera does offer Black and White pictures however if you shoot colour, you can always use software later to convert to Black & White or even Sepia. If you shoot in B&W, you can't get colour back from it. As for the video mode, it captures at 30fps. Movies are general shot at 24fps giving the film like feel. When you edit your video (using 3rd party s/w), you can convert the videos to 24fps if you want. Most 3rd party s/w video editing will do that.

  • I currently own the s3300 and I need to know how you turn off the auto preview. I need to be able to take shot after shot without being constantly interrupted and having the EVF turn off every single time I press the shutter!!

  • @hzzn Hi, Go to the setup by pressing the "menu/ok" button. Then move to the "setup tab", scroll down until you see "image disp: and change setting to "off".

  • @fujiguys Thanks, that really helped, but I am still noticing a 3 sec lag before I can take another picture. Could this be due to the fact that I'm only using a class 2 card or is this normal?

  • @hzzn Shutter lag would be the camera and it's processor vs the card speed. But if the card is slow in writing, it can prevent you from taking the next shot. Try pressing half-way down to focus prior to shooting. This should reduce shutter lag. If you want continuous shots, then turn that mode on instead to fire of a bunch of shots.

  • im planning on bying this camera and i just wanted to ask few things.. 1st. does it have some kind of effects? like for example black & white, sepia, panorama, fisheye ect.? effects are not a must but they are always a nice little add to it. and 2nd, this runs on AA batterys right? now im asking, can you buy a recharchable battery (like a lithium-ion one) with a charger for this? if you can, what kind of model fits? thanks :)

  • @JacksAss10 1. yes, you can shoot in b&w. You can also shoot panorama as the video shows. Sepia is done via the myfinepix studio software. Fisheye effect : NO. 2. recommend low dischaged NiMH type batteries like Sanyo eneloop. These batteries are great for this camera. There are no rechargeable AA lithium batteries, only 1 time use which can yield over 700 shots per charge.
