  • Still the best band in the world

  • This song reminds me of a song they played in the movie Breakfast Club called "We Are Not Alone".....very catchy and I'm no dancer but this makes me want to get up own the floor.

  • @genxfrog I meant another singer sang in Breakfast Club.

  • I prefer their other hit, "On the Dark Side"

  • this is my favorite arcade fire song. aces.

  • This beat reminds me of Dancing in the Dark.

  • This beat reminds me of Dancing in the Dark.

  • Dave Grohl listens to this song everyday. Just goes to show the epicness of this song :)

  • @theatlanticmonkey AWESOME FACT! =D

  • this song reminds of U2. the music, lyrics and vocals. And yes, I am saying this with the full realized that a lot of Arcade Fire fans don't like that particular rock band.

  • wasn't enjoying the song until about 1:40, then it sank in after that sick vocal part.

  • I wonder what that book is about

  • @EatMyCheesyVideos its the bible!

  • My favorite Arcade Fire song! Nothing moves me the way this song does.

  • c'est montréalais (L)

  • WHO IS ARCADE FIRE

just kidding they inspired me to learn a new instrument every two months for a year

  • @marthamehmeh, that sounds great! What instruments have you tried so far? It sounds like an excellent New Year's Resolution: To learn a different instrument every two months.

  • @marthamehmeh Who gives a shit about ur life son...

  • @TheEarthquakeMachine about 86 people

  • GOD!! every Arcade Fire song is AMAZING! (they HAD to be canadian) :}

  • My friends played this at their wedding. Great choice. :)

  • @Dchick97 Brandan and my sister, Ivy's? Heh..

  • @TrogdoorBurninator Yes'r! This made me smile. lol

  • First comment rules, second comment drools. G.R.O.S.S.

  • Reminds me of Echo & The Bunnymen.

  • Donkey You've Cum

  • @bgreezzy what?

  • Great song. In response to GreekGiraffe, the base line puts me in mind of a certain Harrisburg, PA band called The Ocean Blue. The vocals remind me a lot of Ian McColluch in early Echo & The Bunnymen. I do hear Springsteen too.

  • keep the car Cumming

  • @RylanGreer

    ...

    You twat.

  • what album is this?

  • @howarewesocool neon bible (iirc)

  • my mom was a waitress in montreal w. the violinist in arcade fire when i was younger.. she taught me how to do patty cake ! ahah

  • One day, in 20 years or so when Arcade Fire inevitably no longer exists, we will be able to buy books of photography chronicling their career the way we buy such books of photography for say, the Beatles or Bob Dylan today.

  • @grail68 oh yes! we will :P

  • @grail68 I want that day now.

  • @grail68 would be so but these guys are not famous enough..

  • @Jxzor lol well they sell out arenas so... I think they're pretty huge

  • @Jxzor I'm not hating on Arcade Fire, they produce amazing music, but the highest viewed Beatles video I found had 27million views, and the highest viewed Arcade Fire video I could find had 6.1million views, and an average famous commercial musicians get atleast 15million views on each of their official releases.

  • @Jxzor Leave. Don't come back. Your analysis is unwelcome.

  • @betterdrummerjoe but unfortunately all too spot on.

  • @superclaydude haha ;*

    @betterdrummerjoe it's a free world ;)

  • @grail68 All of the band members are in their early thirties, so I bet they'll be around for atleast three more decades or so.

  • @ernathefat Tell that to the Beatles and the Clash

  • @grail68 Arcade fire will be making music when they're 70.

  • @grail68 comparing a middle of the road band to Bob Dylan and The Beatles? That's like comparing a Honda Civic to a Ferrari.

  • @andreboy1 I'm comparing what is arguably the most influential group of the last decade to what is arguably the most influential band of the 1960s. My comment is not about talent, it's about scope of influence.

  • @andreboy1 Bob Dylan looked like a Honda Civic

  • \/"taint"\/

  • Google is attempting to narrow the scope of human emotion through the use of the new "reactions" menu on our precious Youtube comments. The world's last public forum for intellectual discussion is being tainted as we sit.

  • @severpwnage

Youtube has never been a forum for intellectual discussion. Youtube comments have always been a cesspool of whiny, vulgar children. Just take a look at, say, the moon landing video. Given the ability of the average youtube commentator to express himself, I would say that generic reactions are an improvement.

  • I heard this song a long time ago, then I heard it at the dentist and it reminded me what an amazing song it is. I also bit my dentist.

  • YEAHHH!!!! show me your teeth!!!!!! ...oh wait this isnt lady gaga

  • @kitkakeller you sound like lady gaga

  • I kept my car running and I heard Arcade Fire (:

  • @loosekarrott how?

  • @superclaydude i just said that to upset simpletons

  • The beginning kinda sounds like the beginning of Backyardigans.

  • 73 people dont know what good music is when they hear it. Arcade Fire rocks my socks!

  • Hurdy gurdy

  • Best band of the decade in my mind

  • @AudzzyOsbourne One of them for sure...

  • trop bon ce son

  • Rock and roll or not, this is good effing music.

  • This sounds like Bruce Springsteen

  • Zepplin was rock and roll and so its this. Listen to it. Drums guitar bass vocals, soulfull gospel sound...hmmm sounds like rock and roll to me. I'm thinking older rock and roll before Zepplin. Compare to alot of crap that comes out these days, this is rock and roll.

  • /watch?v=PZ0BpXTlpQA

  • Rock and roll is coming back. Fineally.

  • @MrMattRocker rock and roll is like led zepplin, i dont see how this sounds any thing like rock and roll

  • @lancewearspants look at the chord structure, its the standard of many old blues songs and early rock and roll. this is a great band, and yes they are bringing rock back with a refreshing indie twist.

  • @MrMattRocker too bad spelling isn't. What a shame.

  • Maan..i need to listen to this everyday. I'd rate it as important as breakfast for starting the day :)

  • Great song, but I must admit this song reminds me of a song on The Cars album Candy - O. It has that same prodding quality, but what separates it is the layering upon layers that Arcade Fire is genius at.

  • 73 people ran out of gas

  • @gutstotake very clever man!high five!

  • something big is coming on the horizon, nobody knows what or when, but we should be ready, keep the car running

  • When they performed this song at Chicago a few weeks back, it was the closing song. I think it's hardly a closing song but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

  • @linkyanthony lol

  • @linkyanthony thats original...

  • not a problem i do make some mistakes chucles

  • This song makes me so happy. It just does.

  • good very good track aim loving it, absolutely fenomenal

  • @mozbrit *phenomenal. I am a bit of a spelling corrector. sorry.

  • Das ist gut.

  • This song was even more amazing Friday night in Chicago. 10,000 fans totally into the moment. Awesome sight.

  • 1:45

  • @xXRubella666Xx Indeed it does

  • absolutely inspirational last night.

  • Arcade Fire and Radiohead are the two best bands in the world right now. And honestly Arcade Fire might be surpassing even them, and this is coming from a huge Radiohead fan.

  • @thetimewontlast +1 to this. I bought The Suburbs & King of Limbs around the same time, listened through both albums, and don't think I've taken out Arcade Fire yet. (Radiohead favorite band too)

  • The verses remind me a lot of "Ready to Start".

  • @xXRubella666Xx But this song came out first

  • you guys should look up "while the city sleeps", similar big colourful soundscapes!

  • @pokenerdxbree dweeb

  • @WipeoutHDFurygawd Got that right.

  • eaaaaaaaa la puraa buenaa musssiqaa'♥

  • Just heard this song live monday night!!!!!!! Arcade fire in concert=breathtaking

  • i can just imagine:)

  • foo fighters did a great cover of this song. obviously not as good but u should check it out

  • If you like this song checkout The Runaway by Regret the Hour

  • I had sex last night, then when I went to my truck and started driving away, "keep the car running" came on....Dont know which part of my night was better! haha

  • Oh my goodness. I love Arcade Fire. <3 I can't even contain how much I love them.

  • coolio

  • Sounds that build on previous artists literally excite me to no end. I'll compose charts of influences and patterns, the history of musical innovation and creation an undulating evolution from the roots of Buddy Holly to the strains of Lou Reed, the Kingsmen, and Joy Division. How Arcade Fire can so effortlessly embody Depeche Mode, Springsteen, Talking Heads, and rock-a-billy spices is simply incredible. Yet, they retain their own aura and sensibility. Bravo, Arcade Fire.

    ~hippie

  • @GreekGiraffe People know that, but also, for every one who knows it, 10,000 more should realize

  • @GreekGiraffe You don't see a comment that well-written on YouTube every day.

  • @CardingtonLZF Thanks dear

  • @CardingtonLZF i do

  • @CardingtonLZF I have.

  • Hey_ÃñYoné_wåñNã_chÄt_with_mÉ_Î_fëël_sÒ_løÑélý_tödåy┌

  • 68 people like the song "Friday"

  • @twilightgirl4343 these comments do not belong on arcadr fire songs. fuck off.

  • Is the real bible also as interesting as this album :D ? never read it :/

  • how did this band slip under my radar for so long... damn

  • @MochizMuM i thought the same..

  • one of my fave arcade fire songs!

  • these guys fuckin rock

  • Arcade Fire has always reminded me a little of the Smiths. This song is great though, very summer-night sounding.

  • arcade fire fans should look up "while the city sleeps, title track", you'll love it!

  • Sounds like Springsteen and Talking Heads....end of story. Great fucking band

  • stupid sick! all of their songs

  • inb4 "65 people turned the car off"

  • Probably my favourite song by Arcade Fire.

  • @KillingFratellisLeon theres no u in favorite

  • @vital20 There is a 'u' if you're from literally anywhere but the U.S.

  • @KillingFratellisLeon im from canada

  • @js289955 So how come you don't know that there is a 'u' in favourite? Maybe you're using the American-ized version of Microsoft Word... Seriously, that's like one of the first things they teach you in school; the 'u's after the 'o's :\

  • @KillingFratellisLeon yea they been slacking up in canada's schools, they don't figure we're ever gonna write anything that even makes it to america so they dont bother teaching real english

  • @vital20 british spelling of favorite is "favourite"

  • @masochistmonkey this is america

  • @vital20 Actually, this is the internet.

  • Mix of U2, Springsteen, and John Cafferty and The Beaver Brown Band...(Eddie and the Cruisers soundtrack-On The darkside)

    Not that exciting!!!

  • MUSICIANS!!!

  • how does this have so many dislikes. Snobs

  • Distinctly Arcade Fire but I hear a little bit of early Echo and the Bunnymen in Win's voice. These guys deserve all the accolade they get!

  • Rather than Bruce Springsteen, it's more reminiscent of "The Dark Side" by the Beaver Brown Band.

  • @VShalak get new ears and listen to born to run

  • @maxleresistant I have. Numerous times, in fact. Jungleland and Backstreets FTW.

  • Sounds like Arcade Fire

  • @Kobeownzu81 Yea, it does a little bit.

  • sounds nothing like bruce springsteen

  • OMFG! :O I know this song. I used to love it when I listed to some Dance Punk station 2 years ago ZOMG Did not know it was Arcade Fire! Also congrats to them for winning Album of the Year! They are Genius!
