Because if then her "authentic" country roots would be questions/tarnished. The media keeps reminding us that Carrie won AI, but who cares when Carrie is such an incredible talent, performe, and songwriter (fact, she co-wrote her last 3-4 #1 songs), yet only Taylor gets props for her light-weight, poppy songs. Taylor gets credit for her song writing and putting it all out there and having such grace , and miranda writes some of her songs too, but others sing what is given to them. I was just arguing the fact that vocals isn't everything you need to get to the top, there is way better vocalists then Taylor, but obviously she is doing something right.

@kristomisto I did buy all of Taylor's cds, and she does a nice job with lighter pop songs, I just think Carie really sings, writes ,and performs at a higher level with such emotional powerful songs like SO SMALL, JUST A DREAM, TEMPORARY HOME, CHANGE, etc.... compared to LOVE STORY and FIFTEEN... I do see how the kids like TS more at this time since Carrie is getting older, maturing.

Only Carrie haters would say that her performance at the CMA or any other would suck. For your information, Carrie's performance that night was one of the best if not the best . On the other hand, Taylor, as likable as she is, cant sing and will never be able to sing live. Her performance was so out of tune that it was painful to watch, I like Taylor. I think she is an awesome songwriter but should let other people record her music. Her wining female vocalist that night was a travesty
