I dident do any talents in {Strength of soul}

And i only did 2 in {Mental Agility}, And took those 3 extra and put them in {Empowered Healing} and {Inproved Renew}. So much better healing. Trust me, you wont be sorry !

@datamike the reason that these top players spec the way they do and there are "cookie cutter" talents is because its the BEST way to get the most out of your class, being a disc priest we have no other way to get back mana other than rapture, sfiend gets kited/cc'd and hymn SHOULD get interupted, also, the start of wotlk they took out down ranking, meaning that a rank 1 of a spell costs as much as rank 8

Everyone should know by now there are 3 modes to disc PvP... Defensive (Reduction anyone?), offensive (Smite smite smite) and healer (Flash flash flash penance). He's specc'd more aggressively. I personally specc'd defensively because what i find is that any melee class will charge at me or caster will DoT me as fast as possible, because priest = healer. Healer = Must die.

hey, nice guide and everything, but i strongly agree with 1sabretooth2, since rapture is a must for any kind of pvp priest. Try to go on the armory and search for ketocon, european servers, Hellfire. I know the gear is the essence of shit, but have a good look at the spec. Cheers!

ur spec and views are laughable, if you dont get rapture....ur bad, no way around it, it comes in handy for you and ur partner, also, you should never gem crit, since its useless, thats also why holy spec/divine aegis is not the greatest talent, imp renew is better then holy spec for crit, also enlightenment is great, who ever you are, the haste is amazing even if you dont gear offsets for it, and if you dont gear for haste you go spirit, and that talent ups ur spirit...lol

@ZyreXMostWanted couple things wrong here. Don't ever spec for 1v1. Ever. There is no 1v1 in arena and if your team gets to 1 person then someone has messed up. And even IN 1v1s against rogue/war you dont need to smite, dot / heal > them. And I have 2 sets of gear, a spirit set and a haste set. It depends on which comp and bracket im playing in, 3s and 5s i go haste and in 2s it depends on what i play with if i go spirit or haste.

I had a question though; is mana burn a viable tactic against all other casters, particularly healers? Some have told me it's no use mana burning a resto druid for example.

@Datamike mana burn is good. i use it when a caster is low on mana, to keep him there. u dont need to have the highest rank on ur bars either. by doing this u remain effective in keeping them at low mana, and u dont have to use the highest rank which costs more mana

Cheers. Have been using manaburn a lot since actually, just testing it and seems to play really well. I even manaburn mages and the like in BGs. It's fun gimping them. Didn't think of using a lower rank spell though, thanks for the advice. Will try it out soon.

talents rly depends on players game style but i would rly recommend any new discp. to get rapture 3/3 becouse it makes so much mana diffrence and also helps your mate .

yeah i played with a hunter for awhile in 2s where i changed the spec a bit to an outlast spec, also bought the mp5 back and neck. Specced into rapture then and worked very well for outlasting opponents. My only issue is that if you arn't geared for mana regen then rapture by itself wont really help too much, it DOES help, but like he said, play style is very different between priests.

So your spec is more offensive, can i ask what kind of things you use? I find that my dots are a waste of mana because they do little to no damage and Holy Fire/MB have cooldowns, so do you just spam Smite?

Also, i have a 3v3 arena team with a Arms Warrior and Marks Hunter, (Im a disc priest) but we are failing, do you have any tips for healing strategy or something?

disc arms hunter is not a very strong comp at all, you generally dont want a double ms team

i think the only viable hunter warrior team is with a prot warrior

the dots may not seem like there doing to much but check ur damage at the end of the fight, its normally a good deal just from those 2 dots alone, its free damage pretty much

@Coolwhitey yeah, i mostly just spam smite...i am not a fan of pain and dev plague because, depending on who you play with, if you try to make a switch and chagne the CC it'll break CC on the target...that partnered with how effective it is makes it very low on my priority list. Instead of using that global for dots...try using it for offensive dispels, usually always a need for those.
