The events inspired maybe a few things in the movie, like place, mode, characters (doesn't have the be the antagonist) etc. but how the plot turns and how it concludes is up to the creativity of the screen writer.

Well there is a Waverly Hills Sanatorium in Louisana (or somewhere in the south) but according to reports the people down there found the movie distasteful and doesn't keep with the real history of the place. I think it looks cool, although it's a little to much "lets kill a bunch of half dressed sexy college girls"...
Well the background history of the film is true, and it is correct that the locals found this film distasteful and thought it painted a horrible picture of Waverly Hills.
Apparently all the props aren't props, they are real files and furniture, etc. from the sanitorium. I think the setting in this film is incredible, even if it is a typical "half dressed hot girl" b-grade reminiscent storyline.
And did anyone notice.. they showed a nurse that was suppose to be from the "1930's".. a ghost back from that time period.. anyway, well, breast augmentation wasn't so good back then, and she's very nicely busty. Lol. Not very accurate with the time-line there, again.
I liked some of the effects in this movie, but there was no history given in the storyline to it.. and it was a sanatorium for people infected with TB.. they are depicting it more as a place for crazy patients and death-bringing doctors.. although I am sure there was a lot of depression and other ailments that went along with such a high rate of infection :S they should have done their research better, I think. *personal opinion* :)
There is no little girl in the real Waverly Hills, the person who has no eyes was desribed as a dude, and there is no girl with a ball, thats a ghost they call Tim, which now they believe his name isnt Tim, because a ghost hunting team that was their caught a EVP in which they hear a little boy say "My names not Tim"
Ok heres the deal about Waverly Hills, First it's a Sanatorium, not a Asylum, a Sanatorium is a medical facility for long-term illness, typically tuberculosis, and a Asylum is a place for mentally insane people. This movie of course is false, there is no documented evidence of anyone dieing by the ghost, and now its illegal to go in the building, and is virtually impossible, theres countless guards spending the night their, and watching videocameras at all times.
People need to know this stuff is real, it's no joke. I hate people that laugh and call it fake. I know this for certain, though I won't talk about that, I'm too weary of being called crazy.

yeah, already saw this movie twice. t'was about a virus that kills people a long time ago, actually there are only one survivor, she already made it out of the hospital with his guy friend but found out that she was also infected, her mom died because of the infection when the she was juz a kid, so they went back inside the building to search 4 the antidote. but there was a monster inside who's waiting to kill them. yeah some actresses here are over acting.
looks like an interesting thriller.....even though their "based on true events" is extremely misleading. It was a Tuberculosis hospital and people did die there from TB, not murderous ghosts........but it is reported to be haunted & the owners give tours.

tuberculosis hospital my grandfather was there for awhile....scary as hell place to be.

Well there is a Waverly Hills Sanatorium in Louisana (or somewhere in the south) but according to reports the people down there found the movie distasteful and doesn't keep with the real history of the place. I think it looks cool, although it's a little to much "lets kill a bunch of half dressed sexy college girls"...

Well the background history of the film is true, and it is correct that the locals found this film distasteful and thought it painted a horrible picture of Waverly Hills.
Apparently all the props aren't props, they are real files and furniture, etc. from the sanitorium. I think the setting in this film is incredible, even if it is a typical "half dressed hot girl" b-grade reminiscent storyline.

And did anyone notice.. they showed a nurse that was suppose to be from the "1930's".. a ghost back from that time period.. anyway, well, breast augmentation wasn't so good back then, and she's very nicely busty. Lol. Not very accurate with the time-line there, again.

I liked some of the effects in this movie, but there was no history given in the storyline to it.. and it was a sanatorium for people infected with TB.. they are depicting it more as a place for crazy patients and death-bringing doctors.. although I am sure there was a lot of depression and other ailments that went along with such a high rate of infection :S they should have done their research better, I think. *personal opinion* :)

There is no little girl in the real Waverly Hills, the person who has no eyes was desribed as a dude, and there is no girl with a ball, thats a ghost they call Tim, which now they believe his name isnt Tim, because a ghost hunting team that was their caught a EVP in which they hear a little boy say "My names not Tim"

Ok heres the deal about Waverly Hills, First it's a Sanatorium, not a Asylum, a Sanatorium is a medical facility for long-term illness, typically tuberculosis, and a Asylum is a place for mentally insane people. This movie of course is false, there is no documented evidence of anyone dieing by the ghost, and now its illegal to go in the building, and is virtually impossible, theres countless guards spending the night their, and watching videocameras at all times.

Yea i live in Louisville and my great Aunt committed suicide there. Its a real creepy place. It was made for all of the people who caught TB. They thought they were being sent there to be cured, but really they were being sent there to die.

but one scene that creeps me out is when she saw the white lady holding a ball and wants to play with her. and the other scene is the creepiest is when she was followed by a lady who looks like "The angry princess" in the "Thir13en Ghosts" movie. t'was really scary!

yeah, already saw this movie twice. t'was about a virus that kills people a long time ago, actually there are only one survivor, she already made it out of the hospital with his guy friend but found out that she was also infected, her mom died because of the infection when the she was juz a kid, so they went back inside the building to search 4 the antidote. but there was a monster inside who's waiting to kill them. yeah some actresses here are over acting.

looks like an interesting thriller.....even though their "based on true events" is extremely misleading. It was a Tuberculosis hospital and people did die there from TB, not murderous ghosts........but it is reported to be haunted & the owners give tours.
