It's reflective of the stereotypically uneducated manner of speaking in Lima Heights - Santana is smart/does use proper grammar, it's just her dry sense of humour, or 'style' as you put it. There's also a sense of pride in where's she's from when she speaks like that, I think - she seem's to use it to intimidate people.
