what a night in Gdansk musta been ! emotion filled especially when one realizes Rick will not step on the stage again. the era of all living Pink Floyd on the stage is a memory but never will it be gone !
i THOUGHT this was Gilmour's video and not the Damn orchestra's video. There was hardly any shots of him during 2 solos. it was all that Damn orchestra
@mendex2006 Yes&no, Jerry G. band could have rocked this though, whoa... is there any dead doing floyd out there? Or floyd doin, dead? That'd be cool.
It's awesome. I always figured that Dave would be the first to write and sing about spiritual things. I think it just shows his growth over the years he sounds better plays better is better period!
Surprised to see David playing his Strat on this one. Though the sound is brighter, I would have thought it was played with the Les Paul if I hadn't watched this video.
Yes, indeed. Just like he played this song with the Les Paul during the whole tour (See Remember That Night DVD). So I've been surprised to see him playing his Strat at Gdansk.
And honnestly, if I haven't seen it, I wouldn't have notice the difference in the sound.
Then again the Black Strat is part of his image just like the Hofner bass is part of Paul McCartney's. As this was the highest profile concert on his tour, perhaps that's why he changed?
He's got Richard Wright performing with him too :).

Good song and great guitar, IMHO I think both dvds are worth the money. Echoes in the Royal Albert Hall was mind-blowing

Holy shit that's a badass guitar solo at the end.
What's a better DVD, this or Remember That Night?
TheElusiveBirdMan 3 years ago 2
This one is WAY better.
Though Remember the night is also very powerful.

Looks like the same Strat he used at Live 8. It sounds fucking awesome whatever. I think he can make any guitar sound amazing.
evildave9000 2 years ago 3
Yep it's David's famous Black Strat! His main guitar on and off since about 1970 I think. Much modified in the interim!
