@generosos87 Sorry, but most bands do use Auto Tune these days. Much as I love Metallica and Megadeth, I've seen both in concert and there's NO way they don't use Auto Tune. Especially Mustaine- much as I love the guy, his voice in concert is crap.

Now it's not necessarily a BAD thing that they use Auto Tune, because some metal singers are still decent without it. I'm just saying, most bands nowaday use it if they can.

Mustaines voice is turning to shit though your right about that. But ive never, ever heard a metal band use auto tune, and you can tell when a singer is using it, very, very easily

Again, virtuosity is extremely secondary in musical appreciation, and most virtuosos are just shitty composers who replace emotion with technical skill...

@WaruWicku Metal encompasses a very wide variety of music, and although power/symphonic metal may not be the most 'extreme' form, it is still part of the genre. Also, I'd say that virtuosity is only one of the main qualities of the band. They certainly do have carefully crafted songs, (far more so than some metal bands who just tune their lowest string down to A or something and thrash at it for an entire song). They also really know how to arrange and structure their music.

Look, there are some power metal bands that know their shit, Blind Guardian for example. But Rhapsody? Come on, their music is no more interesting or structured than 14th century peasant-folk music.

(also, look for Tool or Opeth if you want to hear interesting composition)

@WaruWicku no, it doesnt. However, this song is in D minor, and the chorus is in F major, and it lasts 3 and a half minuites. And believe me, 14th century music is very interesting, as it is right on the divide between medieval and renaissance music, and begins to introduce the complex polyphony of the renaissance period. Tool are good, but pretty much tend to stay in one key for ages and rely on compound time signatures and effects. In terms of real compositional skill, Rhapsody are better.

WOW!!! you know, I've always loved bands like Hammerfall and Iced Earth and Rhapsody, but Rhapsody is by far the best sounding live as far as vocals go when the whole band is singing.. this guy is spot on with the lyrics and vocals!!! Hammerfall is awesome, but they don't hit the high notes in concert like on the albums.. but these guys hit it all!!!!
