It's actually a lot different than the GT500 engine. This thing has a 5.4 yes but a lot of internals were made from titanium. That's why these fucks hold 1000hp and then some, easily.

If its a stock GT it has a highly modified 5.4L that ford has used for quite some time. Similar to what the 2011 GT500 got.

class a "stock" 5.4L BOOSTED is ot allowed! No turbos

or superchargers are allowed in the GT class. In some

of the Matech videos the glimpses of the engine bay show

"Ford Motorsports" pushrod valve covers which could mean

there's a 5.4L Rouch-Yates NASCAR or ROLEX series

engine built to FIA GT specs. A pushrod engined car would

get a considerable weight advantage!

The flames are because the engines are designed for 91 octane, but in europe premium for supercars is 93 octane, so the engine doesn't burn all the fuel, and on downshifting it can build up in the exhaust and ignite. doesn't harm anything, but really cool effect.

Don't know what your talking about, you can get 97 Octane at Sunoco in North America. And backfires aren't anything to do with octane, but compression and valve timing.
