I've seen a few video's that are post- heroin addiction but I wonder if he relapsed. Supposedly he kicked in 1989 (ironically his best storytelling music was pre-1989). I don't know... he looks a bit numb in my opinion and on heroin lights can be awful bright or his eyes could be half closed, who knows, just a thought.

@karenchristine9 there was an appearance he made with sean mcgowan of the pogues on UK tv, maybe late 80s(?) both on bar stools, well, hanging onto the stools actually, both very drunk and rolling from heroine! was so obvious, and neither of them able to stay in time or tune! was so good when he really got stuck into work with the bad seeds, seems to have brought him back onto form. and too with the newer grinderman project they do.

Look at him sitting there. Isn't he just the strangest being ever seen? No expression whatsoever, sunglasses as if he's about to visit spaceship Enterprise, looking completely out of place on that barstool, wobbling from side to side.

Yet, I must forgive him all these things. In fact, I like him just because he's definitely not normal. But it takes an extraordinary man to create such life-changing songs.

Conway Savage certainly is great here, as is his part in 'Right out of your hand'.
