Look at a giant church like Calvary Chapel in Costa Mesa, and they NEVER EVER charge people for hearing a concert. As they always say, "If we are doing the will of the Lord, the money will follow". I have great respect for Chuck Smith and Calvary Chapel because of this. You never hear Pastor Rick talk about the wrath or the judgment on God. His sermons are positive, and while this may seem great, church is not about making us feel better about ourselves. Its about doing the will of the Lord.
God quotes: "Kill disobedient teens (Deuteronomy 21:18-21). Kill those who work on the Sabbath (Exodus 35:2). Kill practicing homosexuals (Leviticus 20:13). Kill girls who aren't virgins when they marry (Deuteronomy 22:13-21)."
GOD IS LOVE! GOD CARES. GOD IS JUST.
NEVER FORGET JERICHO...ER, I MEAN THE HOLOCAUST. : )
I drove all the way down to see this show, and then I didn't end up getting to see it, because the woman said I didn't have a ticket. I told her, my friend purchases tickets, let me find her. They told me I needed to leave, and couldn't be there. I understand the need, but the people there were extremely rude to my family. We drove 40 miles, and wewre turned away. This is what happens when Christianity gets to commercial
We had a ticket buddy...the woman was holding it inside for us. We coukdn't get in and find her. Saddleback Church is way too big and commercial. Jesus would throw up at this.
@Soulquarium nope. This is what happens at any normal event. No ticket at the door means no entry no matter how far you might of driven or who might have one inside for you. It's not that they don't want you there, but if everyone had a story of how far they travelled and someone had my ticket they would let everyone in then? It's only fair. Let's not judge them. God is doing great works there and his name is been lifted up always...
We are touched by open brokeness for we can identify with the pain and are attracted to the vunerability and need to be in receipt of the healing that possible as we draw nigh unto Thee.
This was a great concert! I really enjoyed Kirk Franklin and Big Daddy Weave!!! I'm also excited that my tune was one of the ten tunes chosen to go on this year's Song Seeker Project:)
