  • Ik heb mario all stars. en ook Mario kart. en ook YosieLand.

  • i miss playing these games

  • legos at3;04

  • LOL!!! These 4 games are a combined 21 dollars on the Wii's Virtusal Console

  • @MrMoneyclips

    Those are the NES versions

  • This game seems to use Mario World's game engine- I mean it uses some of it's sound effects.

  • @CrashSucksMariosaGOD it actually uses it.

  • I always loved the night-time levels, so peaceful.

  • @TheAnimeDogfighter

    I love them too.

  • I think we need Inspector Gadget to explain how the menu system works. Just Kidding. Sorry if you don't get the joke.

  • @Moviefan2k4: What about Ninja Gaiden, or Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse? Those games are even more horrifying difficulty-wise.

  • u kno... not everything was kept the same besides the graphics and saves...

i noticed that in SMB1 that Mario doesn't stop dead after hitting a block, but continues upward some. It makes my level runs slower than the NES version.

  • I got this game today for €7 :D

  • I still have the Super NES cart of this; its been cleaned like crazy, and works like a charm. I despise "The Lost Levels", though; I doubt any other game has ticked me off as much as that one has. If it had been released in the USA, the franchise probably would've crashed.

  • I actually just ordered the snes game before I even saw this video

  • i have a few of the gba remakes, are these as good? i wish i bought it... -.- $40.... anyone got a hundred?

  • AND keep THIS in mind guys, i got SUPER MARIO ALL-STARS....FREE IN THE MAIL WHEN I WAS A KID! FREE!!!! THEY GAVE AWAY THIS AMAZING GAME FREE!!!!!!!

  • If it was me I would of ported the gba games not the SNES ones but o l

  • the made super mario allstars+super mario world which ithink haddone good repairing the oringinal mario world

  • You know how Zelda got a FREAKING AWESOME 25th anniversary? How come Mario got no love? Just a re-release they could've put on the Wii Shop Channel...

  • @Wilford870 Easy answer. Mario hugs all the glory most of the time as it is. Giving Zelda the hug over Mario this time's a nice change, not putting Mario down, 'cause I've always been a Mario fan myself. :P

  • they could've easily redone these games with NSMBwii graphics.

  • I've hardly ever beaten SMB3 on the NES because of a lack of saving!

  • F**K you toad where the hell is peach

  • If only they had remade the games again with the New Super Mario Bros. engine. That would have been ridiculously awesome. This is still great though.

  • i ordered it for my mom and we dowloaded all 4 mario games but we cant savee so i got this for her to save where we left off

  • I looked at the top comment and was like FINALLY someone understands, then looked at the user and was like shit that was me :O b4 my account got terminated

  • You can actually take the disk out of the Wii and still play it normally without getting an error message

  • To be fair they fixed the "hit detection" a bit also. Where in the original mario bros. on nes you could jump over some enemies like piranha plants and your foot would go right through them, in the snes version, you can't. You barely touch the enemy and you die. Just makes speed running Mario Bros. on all-stars a bit more work xD

  • Here's what I don't get, why Nintendo celebrated Mario's 25th if his real anniversary was this year as his first game was Donkey Kong which released 1981- 30 YEARS!

  • @realar That was jump man, not mario.

  • @thobby120 That's still Mario.

  • @realar Because it wasn't celebrating his origins, but THE GAME that made him famous and brought the video game market back from the dead. When people hear Mario they think Super Mario Bros. Not Original Donkey Kong. It shouldn't be hard to GET. The fact that he was a minor character a few years earlier isn't what they are celebrating or that he was in a few other arcade/atari games too, but SMB because it changed gaming forever.

  • why are you so loud?

  • "Mario Bros." IS featured in this game! It's playable in "Super Mario Bros. 3", but it still counts to me!

  • Game stop has this used for $59 wtf used USED I SAY

  • I like the gba Mario better plus this game is missing Mario bros

  • im stuck on the select game screen which button do i press to start the game?

  • @DrewPwnage the plus button

  • I DID NOT like mario lost levels or mario brothers 2, but i love mario brothers 3

  • @YoshiBros57780 You must be lit!

  • From all I know, the All Star features the MARIO BROS. classic arcade game too, in 16 bits!

  • If they re-remade the music and graphics and added a level editor it would've been a HUGE success.

  • Such bullshit, it should've been called "Mario All-Stars Wii", and the graphics should've been updated to SMB Wii graphics---especially considering that the games are already made, it's not like they have to concoct new levels or anything. $30....what a crock -__-

  • surprised he didn't hate on super mario bros 2

  • OK, wait a minute. If Mario's first game (Mario Bros Arcade) came out in 1983, wouldn't 2010 mark Mario's 27th birthday?

  • @RedWolf3487 One could say that, yes. But it could be argued that it is SUPER Mario's 25th anniversary I guess. :P

Also, it was Mario's first game on its' own system that you couldn't play on any other console like Atari 2600.

Good point though, I never thought of that. :)

  • I only had Mario All Stars 2

  • oh what a crappy birthday gift, those guys at CGR undertow celebrated my birthday way than that LOL XD

  • 3,05 legos ?

  • In the Japanese version of Super Mario Allstars, our Super Mario bros. 2 is called:

    "Super Mario bros. 2 USA".

Our Super Mario bros. 2 is actually a clone of a game called Doki Doki panic.

I'm not sure if that game was the reason Nintendo made the Japanese version of Super mario bros. 2 a.k.a The lost levels, or vice versa.

  • the only things i hate about remakes is that they change a lot of stuff..for instance do a speed run wtih megaman 2 on the nes and then do a speedrun on megaman 2 for wily wars..its a huge shift

  • i want supermario sunshine remadee =D

  • I've trying Japan's version of Super Mario 2 It's not THAT hard. I do prefer it over this U.S version. I just like it because it has the usual Mario format. This game is a lot easier and doesn't pose much of a challenge for me.

So try the Japanese version of Mario 2. With a lot of practice you won't find it quite so hard. Show Japan that we americans can handle a challenge!

  • the control timings are very different from the NES version actually. I find myself often fucking up in SMB1 on the SNES whereas I play the NES version blindfolded.

  • I still have This game + Mario World on cartridge so I skipped this game hardcore for the Wii.

  • @Hombraysnoopdog Is that still a $50 cart?

  • I would have liked it if Nintendo had upped the graphics to New SMB style...But regardless it's cool to have. I hope they do Zelda's 25th better. One thing, the first Zelda has already been upgraded YEARS AGO! An All stars style version of Zelda l was released in the mid 90's on a Japan only console called Satellaview. The software has already been created, I just wish Nintendo would port it over. :-\

  • got love the song at 3:00

  • gaming would be so crap without mario

  • for 30 bucks you can get a super nintendo and this game. Or for 20 you can just download all 4 games onto the wii (if you haven't already). It's almost like nintendo doesnt want to sell many copies of the wii version of this just so it can be a collectors item down the road.

  • I love this game and I bought it because I was growing up when Nintendo first came out and I remember anxiously awaiting each Mario game. He always was my favorite game and always will be. I am glad they didn't soup it up because this is the way you want to remember them if you grew up in my generation.

  • they should have made the Wii version Super Mario Allstars + Super Mario World... it would have made sense since it was in cartridge form...

  • It's something I never thought I'd ever see again. Sonic actually outdoing Mario in something. Sonic Generations looks 10x more ambitious and anniversary worthy than copypasta an SNES Rom on a CD, a lazy art book, and a soundtrack CD with unaltered songs (No cool remixes or arrangements) and half of the content being SOUND effects.

    Yeah, Happy 25th Birthday Mario.

  • Best thing about this game, SAVING PROGRESS

  • @thebrainstorm9803 too true :)

SMB3 is just too long to play in one sitting :P

  • i have this game 4 my snes emulator

  • this game looked great back in the day, but the extra lives and letting you continue from the last world if you lost all your lives made it too easy. the only thing i liked was it letting you continue from the last level from the REAL super mario brothers 2.

  • your voice is to loud

  • u killed mario....

  • i swear the opening song to your videos sound like prince

  • i subscribed man you have great review videos my favriote video was mario chess i had no idea about it

  • One good thing personally for me that makes Allstars better than the original games, was that I could FINALLY save my progress.

And when I jumped a warp zone to skip a few levels, I can easily select the levels that I had missed if I wanted to play though them on at my own pace.

The only dissapointment was that it took me to the start of each world, not the start of each level of SMB 1 and 2.

  • The way i used to save Super Mario Bros 3 was by turning off my TV a leaving my nes on, with Mario / Luigi exactly where they were on the map screen.

  • i think this game for the wii is only if the people who didn't get in the snes days or they don't have wi-fi to buy the nes versions for 2100 points all together

  • Derek's Mario impersonation was hilarious. "Oh whatta crappy birthday gift...."

  • I like the Allstar versions, but with the release of this, Im afraid years from now, the youngins are gonna think these are the originals. I love the original nes cartridge versions alot.

  • a wii remake with the same engine of super rmario wii will be worth my 50 bucks so lazy nintendo you are missing my 30 bucks + another 20 + our mario fans deception + why you aint sailing the + mario world collection greedy greedy nintendo

  • Guys calm down Nintendo announced that thanks to good sales they might distribute new copies of the game! i cant wait for my copy :D

  • No reason to get pissed for not getting a copy of this. Nintendo announced it early enough and all the game stores (at least in my area) were offering preorders. I did just that and walked in and walked out with my copy of the game. Oh, and P.S. I got an extra copy today for regular retail ($29.95) at GameStop. I guess some people canceled their preorders. No use crying over spilled milk when places like GameStop gave you enough time to pre-buy this game.

  • 2:53 mario is in lego land LOL

  • I am so pissed off at Nintendo! Late December is Extremely busy for me at work, i didnt have time to get this. So Jan 2nd i went to 7 different stores...all told me this is now out of stock and unavailable! What the fuck?!?! I wanted this so bad...i cant believe it was on store shelves for less than 2 weeks....Fuck nintendo in all 3 holes!

  • Nintendo has SO pissed me off with the new Wii Version. Late December is extremely busy for me at work, so on Jan 2nd when i went to Best Buy to buy it, i was informed it was out of stock and no longer available. I went to 7 different stores all telling me the same. The game was only available for like 2 weeks?!?! What the FUCK!! Fuck u Nintendo!!! Now im glad i stole all those games from K Mart back in the mid 90's!! Fuck you!

  • 25 more years of "thank you mario, but your princess is in another castle"

  • @papermariodude ok but to make it a colletino they could of put world,64,and sunshin to make it an up to date colletion

  • @superfresh333 and it would have fitted on the disk easily along with yoshis island aswell!

  • @papermariodude you seem not to care about original hardware gameplaying

  • @Thenativegamer1 bitch

  • @littlefishkid is that all? your bad at comebacks really. grow a pair and say it again

  • @Thenativegamer1 Its the same thing on wii or origningal console -_- dumbass

  • LMAO i mean original

  • @papermariodude or you can just get the console and the game again at a flea market or something like that.

  • Man, im soooooo glad i got the snes cart of mario all stars, i only played 25 for it ^^

  • i bought the remade one and im gonna play it.

  • Thumbs up if you think this guy`s voice is really annoying.

  • @SeaCadet263 then why do you watch CGR? fucking dumbshit

  • @SeaCadet263 Toss my salad with jelly & syrup, a hole

  • I still have the SNES cartridge, and play it to this day. :)

  • They remade it for the Wii....0.0........why wasent I told this?

  • @jamesfelix303 It as PORTED. Not REMADE.

  • i got sm all stars with smw

    gamestop loser

  • i got sm all stars with smw

  • @WebVMan But it has the history book and audio CD so there are your 9 bucks.

  • @WebVMan It also has the book and cd, and the game.

  • My first ever game.. Came with the SNES when i got it.

  • @EvtheNev Me too pal, got it xmas '93, 17 years of gaming, i still play Allstars on the snes to this day, but now i also own this 25th anniversary disk for the Wii, feels kinda full-circle :)

  • Comment removed

  • Technically, it's only Super Mario Bros' birthday. Mario himself has been in games since '81.

  • @PlINGIO549 Next year is Mario's 30th anniversary then. People'll be like "Wasn't it the 25th anniversary last year ? And now it's the 30th ?" And they won't understand shit :p

  • @Quartrez Cool, we can have another aniversary thing. And then the Zelda 25th is next year, I believe. And then Metroid and Kid Icarus.

  • Rather get the original. Just played this and it was disappointing to not see anything updated. This would of been nice with New Super Mario Bros. They shouldve waited a year

  • should be a WiiWare title, for like $10, not sure how many points that is.

  • @Macikro in America, 1000 points.

  • The history book and the music cd more then make up for just a rom on a cd with 4 mario games.

  • 30 bucks maybe for the world edition.

  • for some reason my snes with this game my saved game always earases.why does it do that.please respond

  • @movielover190

I have had that same problem too, I don't know why it happens though.

  • @movielover190 battery is low

  • I spent $29.99.

    Don't judge me.

  • @ 0:55 you sound more like a Leprechaun than Mario.

  • they would do this for mario but not for zelda, and zelda is waaaay better (in my opinion)

  • @shadowlinkxx12 they have the zelda collectors edition on the gamecube

it has four zelda games on it

  • @MrMagicalToast true....true...

  • this is undoubtedly the best game ever made, my very first game, and i wan't the original one, i will be super pist if i get a 3-D version next week.

  • if they put a bit more effort into it like a 3D intro and more games then yeah i'll buy it :D

  • man i looked up this a few weeks back..it was only gonna be 30 bucks...now it's like $43 on amazon! WTF i am cheap, it's only 13 bucks...but WTF...we're in a recession!!

  • i'm glad Nintendo didn't update the new re release of All-Stars because i wanna play it with the same graphics as the one i played years ago

  • well actually in the 2010 one you're also getting a soundtrack cd, artwork and a history of mario book

  • I still own my original cartridge from 1993 but I'm still going to buy the Wii version because I'm that awesome. But I still wish Nintendo would have thrown in Super Mario World on herelike they did in the U.S. in 1994

  • @BulletBill89

yeah i agree but super mario world is already on the virtual console and it is not expensive either im glad they untuched the wii form becaouse then people who miss it will play it like you guys did 15/16 years ago but the main point is that this game is awesome and one day they would release it i just new they did this thanks a lot nintendo :D

  • As well as Nintendo celebrating their main mascot's 25th birthday, Namco also celebrated the 30th birthday of theirs, by releasing Pac-Man Championship Edition DX. It was basically a sequel to the original Pac-Man C.E, but it's much more advance than it's predecessor, making it the ultimate classic Pac-Man revival! Sure there was also Pac-Man Party for the Wii, but since that game sucks, I'll just leave that one out.

  • That is good but Super Mario All Stars + Super Mario World is way better

  • Yeah, but it beats the $30 Mario 4 Advance or SMB costs on the GBA.... used.

  • @NaoTenhoNomeMelhor

why ? haha so you mean that adding super mario world make it sooo much better if u want super mario world you can buy it on the vc for very cheap ? i love this game i buyed the 2010 edition and i must say i think they did a great job many people meant that this game should come on the vc but now it is here in its original form and that is aweesome :D

  • @NaoTenhoNomeMelhor in my opinion i think super mario bros 3 is better than super mario world because that game had more power ups and it was more challenging than super mario world

  • @NaoTenhoNomeMelhor hmmm, maybe get SMW!

  • @NaoTenhoNomeMelhor i meant unless you have super mario world.

  • good stuff

  • Out of all my SNES cartridges this is my favourite

  • Does anyone else think something was lost in the art style of Super Mario 3 in the "upgrade"?

  • @completebastard I can appreciate what your saying, but I personally think that they were improved because it was the original team doing the overhaul in design.

  • @LargeRedRizla I just dislike it for the same reason I dislike most "upgraded" Pac-Man graphics. The simplistic style was its character and it stood out visually because it was unique at the time. Taking that away, you have to compare it to its 16-bit contemporaries' graphics, which made the graphics in SM3 here seem a bit ordinary.

  • @completebastard Ah, that is where we are different in our opinions then. I didn't and still don't compare this to its comtempories. I thought it was gorgeous to look at in the artistic design, I think this in its own way looks just as good as Donkey Kong Country does. The audio upgrade as well as the save feature were also fantastic.

  • @LargeRedRizla I do agree that the audio and save features were improvements. Hell, I'll admit I usually play this version anyway just for the save feature.

  • You forgot to Review Super Mario World 2:Yoshi's Island this week

  • @Luigi84289 ...What? So Mario 64, Mario Galaxy, Mario Sunshine, and New Super Mario Bros. aren't real Mario games now?

  • @IRSPONGEBOB They are not even close to the same level of the ones already mentioned. They are good games don't get me wrong and well worth the purchase but the nes and snes titles are pure ecstasy. I've spent years mastering those games without ever even remotely getting bored. Just hungrier and hungrier to make it to the next stage.

  • @Luigi84289 So a "real" Mario game is ecstasy? Some of you Mario fanboys are strange.

  • fuck sega and fuck sonic.

    mario rules

  • @wavecrashes I agree, only without the harsh language.

  • I have mario all stars and super mario world all on one cartridge for my super nintendo :)

  • @Toshiro7892 Unfortunately when I got my snes in early 1992 it came with world and when allstars came out it only included the nes games. World wasn't added until years later.

  • @Danilko100 thats cause mario is awsome you fool. mario defines many generes such as platforming, racing, partygame compilations, and more.

  • @Danilko100 well than dont watch the mario reviews retard, no one said you had to

  • y get the wii relase when u can get the snes version on ebay for 15 bucks

  • Well, the package does come with a history booklet, artwork, and other stuff, but the only people who care about that are collectors. I even doubt collectors have the money for this.

I think this should be a Club Nintendo thing that takes 1000 club points (registered Wii games give 50 points, DS games give 30, and review surveys are 10).

  • I already have Mario World and All-Stars on one SNES cart... The re-release is very underwhelming to me. Others might find some value, easily worth $30 retail, but not me.

  • Did they also re-release this game with Super Mario World at one point?

  • @17R3W yup

  • @jamstrat

    Thanks

  • @17R3W yes they did man
