if u are not familliar with nitro than i am going to strongly recamend an electric like the associated t4 or the hpi E firestorm and if u are than pretty much u have the full range oif options also if u know some thing about 2 cycle than u may want to look at a baja or some othes that are out there but they cost Big bucks lol

Well, back when we filmed this, all we had was sand paddles and the pipe. THAT WAS IT!!! No options, no aftermarket - Just the basics. OH' does Motul 2-stroke oil count as aftermarket?

Sorry I didn't mean to come off on a wrong foot about the radio. It's just that all rc's to my knowledge come with cheap radios. I doubt the radio that came with my 5b was worth more than 100$ but for the price you pay for everything else it is a lower quality one of course.

So all I am saying is I wouldn't trust a stock radio with an expensive rc such as the 5b. What if it went out of range some how and just booked it over the dune.

Yes, while price is on the high side of RC, ease of use is great as it is gasoline, it's not Nitro and not as fickel as Nitro engines.

A big portion of Baja 5B owners are first time RC enthusiast.

You may pay 920$(USD) for a Baja 5B RTR but being it runs on gas and not nitro and is very durable you save money in the long run over a 400$ nitro RC. Nitro fuel is around 26$(USD) a gallon vs 3.20$(USD) for a gallon of 88octane. and the Baja can run for hours upon hours on a gallon. nitro cannot.

Power to weight ratio nitro destroys gas RC, Ease of use Gas destroys Nitro... 23cc and isnt it 2.5hp. Ok and that engine weighs a couple pounds so even weight even power but a big block nitro say a .28-.32 depending on engine weighs less than a lb and has the same power. Who wins? nitro but yea tuning it sucks and its more expensive to run.

At that time, top speed was around 40mph on the flat hard tarmac. With some little hop ups we where still clocking 40mph as the sand. Sand slows it way down and we where testing sand paddle tires, but yea, bike RC-VELODROME!!!!

No roll, it's just so steep it went out of sight for a second. Funny side note: We had a all=paddled out Hellfire out there on another session and had a "run-a-way" so we let it run, jumped in the Subaru WRXwagon and chased it for over a mile going through the desert! Funniest thing ever!
