as for mario, they always have the most intriguing ways of changing mario. First he's fghting donkey kong to save peach. Then he's fighting bowser in a plat former, then a 3d environment? (64 was amazing!) then he goes paper uses a damn water gun which i personally think sunshine was one of the best, goes across planets and galaxies I mean there's no way to tell what he will do next!

While Paper Mario is my favorite game ever, I do have to concede that, in terms of mechanics and characters, TTYD is the better game. Regardless, Paper Mario is a completely unique, original idea that was making a ton of new ideas and risks. TTYD was able to settle down, upgrade what they had, and expand upon things with an unchanged story. Paper Mario IS the king of the series.

Crystal King wasn't hard, he was just tricky. All you had to do was block on time to avoid getting frozen and use Lakilester's Spiny Storm when he multiplied to get rid of his duplicates. D-Down Pound is also useful to get through his defenses, so just spam that and use Watt for most of the battle. That said, Bowser wasn't exactly hard either, but his longevity made him more of a challenge. The Shadow Queen is the REAL toughie.

I have to agree with the statement of he being harder than bowser. Bowser just takes more time, this one is hard.

The freezing and guessing and stuff makes him hard.

Man, with preparation, this boss can EASILY be defeated in one blow. Unlike the previous boss, he can't cause you 9+ damage at the same time (unless you really suck). I just kept spamming Jump charge with mario, then protect mario fro those mini crystal with my partner, then I use power bounce.

I thought Lava Piranha was quite easy. First time I fought him I said "Alright this is probably gonna be an epic and long battle", and then when it was over I was disappointed.

Use all the damage increasing badges you can find in combination with power bounce. If you get good at it you can deal 20-25 dmg on just your turn, combine that with say Watt's basic attack (since it ignores Bowser's 2 defense) and you'll be dealing near 30 dmg per turn. Then the trick is just surviving and making sure you use the star/peach beam on him.
