  • Hey.. I feel ya bruh. I've been practicing Xingyi Quan for many years now, and I believe in the power to cultivate Chi thru precise, persistent practice of the forms. However, they are designed for martial defense, so practice of the forms should be accompanied by sparring sessions, or hand to hand combat for the forms to really makes sense. Conditioning is important as well. Practice for good health is one thing but good health and good conditioning mean nada if u can't knuckle up!

  • this is exactly what i've been talking about when talking to other martial artist here in Seattle that say their chi is too powerful for them to spar. Or that one guy told me that I wasn't qualified to spar w/ him. I replied that i have an intricte backgroung in Choy Li Fut and Xing Yi Quan so i think i can hold my own and i'll sign a waiver form so your not held responsible. he still refused. this guy is about 5'10 weighing in at atleast 245.

  • is was normal fight. this is not looks like mma because of many little reasons, from bare hands, to rules and effects of old film. besides, there are moment with classic taichi tactic called "needle in the wool" applied to pure fist fighting. only if rules include at least takedowns, grips etc than you'd see all that taichi staff you well know..) in other way taichi elements are almost invisible and "formless"

  • As a note Brother Novell. When the translation of Taiji is defined as "Supreme Ultimates Fist", they mean 'supreme ultimates' as in yin and yang, the two most extreme or 'ultimate' opposites. Not that its the 'ultimate' in terms of the ultimate style. But you may already know this. Respex.

  • What makes this even more comical,is the added sound effects like you find in jackie chan films.

  • Was hoping that you could post my other comment, as well. Thanks

  • watch?v=HysegS3Wgho&feature=related This is as close as we'll see to a real Taiji fight. This is two Chen style cats. The rules is no punches to the head by the way.

  • This is what happens when your training consists of theory, and you got cats supin' up your head calling you Master. If you never spar, this is the result! I work in the construction trades. And at one company their was this dude who started and he had all of these licenses. This impressed the owner of the company. When the dude did work, he fucked up everything!! A title don't mean shit. A piece of paper on your wall don't make you a Master. I thank God, I wasn't raised in my Fu like this!!!!!!

  • taichi heads are confused. maybe they think it's the baji push they're learning. the bajiquan shoulder push really does send the opponent flying but it's all about control of your center of mass and how close you are to your target

  • @mazdaplz To be honest with you I only see this amongst non Chen Taiji peeps. And now that Chen is getting more popular, I start to see that hippie ass shit amongst Chen now too! Check out the zillion youtube clips of fake ass masters "projecting" their chi, like they a video game character. The only Taiji I co-sign is Chen, and very few peeps impress me at that.

  • Funny as hell, They are smacking each other.

  • but... bare hand .. no gloves

  • Damn makes you wonder about so called master nowadays that say they were great in their hay day lol. Walking around like they was great and still are. They take advantage of students cause of their lack of knowledge. Teaching them but not showing them. It's a shame and that's why MMA has no respect for Kung Fu. They respect karate more then Kung fu. And I'm not talking about that bullshit point karate I'm talking about kyokushin, goju, shotokan, that hard core shit. An even them have master th

  • u can't feel the chi man? I went to tai-chi classes and i could feel the chi likee a force field coming off the more experianced taiers behind me!

no need to believe in chi! u can feel it man!

  • Sifu, did either of those guys actually get hit for real, or were they just playing patty cake with each other..... I couldn't watch the whole thing it was so bad.

  • Hmm very interesting....

  • What is it about these classical stylist with where the protect themselves by putting up their hands?...i even see that today with the "Masters"...

  • You gotta love the sound effects. I practice Tai Chi Chuan faithfully and it does help balance and focus, but if you don't work those hand skills on the daily, you will end up looking silly trying to represent. I would say the formula is to learn some boxing, jujitsu, and use Chinese Martial Arts supplementary to help induce fluency in one's movements. Peace!

  • yo bt my wife don't know karate she knows ca-razy, I would take a fight with 100 self-proclaimed masters before I piss her off know what I'm sayin

  • They would get mopped up in North St Louis.

  • I agree with you 1 gazillion percent. I remember the first time I saw that clip and as a practitioner of Gong Fu and IMA, honestly I was ashamed. Like when a little kid sees his hero getting his ass kicked.

My hero is Chinese Martial Arts and when I saw that shit, my hero got his ass kicked that day.

The only skill those guys exhibited was how to get punched in the face repititiosly.

I'm glad someone else sees what I saw in this wacked out crap.
