Many Hausa, Yoruba and other African vocabulary words survive (sometimes as convergences with English words) in African-American Vernaculars (AAVs) like “Ebonics, Gullah-Geechee, etc…”.
Many Hausa quilt patterns can also be found on African-American quilts -- the “flying geese” pattern is a good example although the pattern is not exclusive to the Hausa alone.

If you can trace your DNA to Africa then you do have an attachment to a particular country and a certain family, clan, sub-tribe and tribe....DNA only tells a portion of the story. You have to do the ground work to learn the rest and believe me when I tell you it is not easy. These tests are maternal/paternal that do not change, but mutate every 500+ years or so. Hers is tested against a database of current groups that share particular lineages. So, to say that black americans are "amalgamated" is outside of the issue, since 100% of the world's population are all "amalgamated" of some sort or other. Naijas are amalgamated. French are amalgamated. Chinese are amalagamated.

If you can trace your DNA to Africa then you do have an attachment to a particular country and a certain family, clan, sub-tribe and tribe....DNA only tells a portion of the story. You have to do the ground work to learn the rest and believe me when I tell you it is not easy. These tests are maternal/paternal that do not change, but mutate every 500+ years or so. Hers is tested against a database of current groups that share particular lineages. So, to say that black americans are "amalgamated" is outside of the issue, since 100% of the world's population are all "amalgamated" of some sort or other. Naijas are amalgamated.
