  • Why the f*ck are people always complaining about the glue THIS IS KUSUDAMA NOT ORIGAMI accept the fact

  • WHY WULD U USE GLUE???!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH NOOOOOO TRADITIONAL ORIGAMI DOESNT USE GLUEEEE AHHHHHHHHHH

srry im a traditional. i cant make this

  • Beautiful, i have to try to make this one :-)

  • lol love the warning...i'm watching this and i thought i read orgasmists.lmfao

  • I love this! It's so easy!

  • You could've said may contain an adhesive cause i just thought it was a joke but... HOW COULD YOU! ;(

  • this requires a lot of commitment...

  • i want to do it but i made only one lily and it's so hard O_O

  • i hate gluegami >:(

  • @hamsterboy959 im with you its the worst

  • i did as you said and it came out as a paper airplane i think i did it wrong

  • Sowas kan man nicht Origami nennen!!!!!

    :-(

  • using glue is not called origami

  • @contortionnerd it's a kusadama blind little fundamentalist... please read the continuous and obvious streams of "warning origamists" and "origami fundamentalists" 0:16... I think I just got trolled

  • I wasted one whole day before my science exam to make this "SNOWBALL"!!! :( :(

  • no wonder......u mean 12 inner and 12 for the double....i thought it was 6 inner and 6for the double and wen i looked at it it sooo looked deformed in a pretty way :D i gave up on glue after the 2nd try so i just stapled the petals and gluegun the tips to make it stable >:D

  • first how did u make the flowers?????THEN GO THERE....

  • if i get 50 thumbs up and 25 subscribers, i will make a step by step tutorial with speech

  • @ brave woman candy i know iys so pretty but i want mine to stay 100% genuine origami *sigh* wish i would just sacrafice it but i cant:(

  • what song is this

  • haha thanx for the video! i'm going to make this for my brother, he's in vietnam now, when he comes back to australia , i'm going to give him this as a welcome back gift!

  • made this ;) but how to fortify the middle of the ball? Mine look like a big mess and the ball ain't round at all. Maby it's paper's fault?

  • I am sorry glue is not allowed near my paper!

  • hahahahahahaha the begining was funny!!! tho pple would freak and b like,"THATS NOT ORIGAMI IF YOU USE..............*wisper* glue" :O retards lol

  • Hi. Pleasze watch my origami videos to. Thanks. Great vid. :D

  • can you glue the bottom of the flower?

  • beautiful beautiful work thank you

  • hi, It's wonderful :)

    congratulation :)

  • glue O_O

    OH MY! XD

  • seems pretty easy :3

  • ok I'll do that. as soon as my cuboctahedron will be finished. so I'll relax:)

  • I made 12 lilies, I watched this video for nearly 30 times but I did'nt understand how to piece my lilies together:( he is only talking abour squares and triangels. I wish he could show it more detailed

  • just google "cuboctahedron" that is the structure you are making with a lily on each tip (or vertex as those tips are called) ; )

  • @showmeamiraclenow

just stick the petals of the lilies to get a triangle hole between them

  • @showmeamiraclenow make 4 triangles and glue them so that they make 4 triangles with a square in the middle,do that two times and glue that together so you get a ball

  • @showmeamiraclenow You piece the petals togeder with glue!!

  • nooo glueeee

haha just kidding, im not a fan of glue, but when its used this well, its hard to complain =P

  • Its simple to do it with your video. I made it. Tks for share it :)

  • mada faker

  • lol good and that goes for all of the other 71,000 viewers 2! nobody tell anyone else :)

  • pssshhhh i use tape almost all the time when i make kusudamas! but yeah this is really cool i think i will try but first i have to learn how to make a classic lili :)

  • I won't tell anyone ;)

  • 2 out of 24...i have much work to do...

  • Wonderful idea. No matter the glue, it looks really, really beautiful. I'm going to make one.

  • it was a great origami, im beggining in the origami art and i love to see videos like this, because it inspires me to do more, im goning to try this kusudama, it looks easy. thanks :D

  • it doesnt matter you used glue. i still love it!

  • I also don't like glue , but i made it and i think its cool looking. Thanks "barbabellaatje " for this wonderful idea !

I made one person smile coz of it :D

  • oh no glue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Here i posted wha i made from watching your video ... its somehow "offset" :P but it looks nice :D

  • oh my gosh something has gone terribly wrong with mine its an oval! hahaha

  • if you count doubling the flowers isnt that 48 units to the kusudama

  • nope 12 and another 12 to double them ;)

  • So simple and so wonderful! Congratulations!!!!^v^

  • awesome

    XD

    I need to make one.

    -_____-'

  • Oh no! Stick fix!!! xD!

    Nice Kusudama

  • -.- wow....glue....EPIC PHAIL!!! -.-

  • how many lilys in all?

  • 24 in total

  • haha, actually as a rather strict fundamentalist origamist myself, I think this is a fantastic idea and a very observant idea that the classic lily makes the 4-way vertex needed to make a cuboctahedron...I wonder if it would look just as nice as a rhombicuboctahedron or icosidodecahedron?

And hey, it technically isn't a REAL Kusudama without glue or sewing thread, and the REAL Kusudamas are the ancestor to the modular origami we all love :)

    Happy folding everyone!

  • my guess would be that bigger structures lack rigidity and would look like a sagged snowball or something ;)

  • Yes probably. However I just saw a model to make a modular Pineapple on youtube and it looks like you could make rings of lilies by inserting them in to the pyramidal rings as support. I'll have to try it when I get some time...

Nice job again! Always nice to see original ideas :D

  • You need to get a digital camera and start showing us some of your stuff... ;)

  • haha...I actually have a webcam but I have never tried to make videos or anything. Maybe ill make one after I finish making a 5-intersecting tetrahedra out of 1.3cm x 4cm strips :D it is soo annoying!

  • beautiful

  • thanks! really you saved my life! I dont care about using glue, its actually a good idea in this case! the final almost-kusodama thing is wonderful! nice present with a metallic paper....

  • glad you liked it :)

  • when you put 2 lilys together, do you put it at the tip? to the center of the petal? o.o

  • not sure what you mean, but you just put one into the other rotatwed 45deg... as shown 1:08 :)

  • A long, long time ago in a galaxy far away...

  • ha :p

  • who said that it is origami :P ; )

  • Wasn't me ;)

  • funny warning :) yes glue may not be part of origami but in modular origami, it is actually allowed in some cases =P

  • you can use glue if there is some sotta securement not just to stick two pieces of paper like staples

  • Very nice, i like the lelys!

  • Glue in origami????????

    WTF, thats not origami.

  • Ha ha, you're funny. Right, but funny. Indeed origami is anti-glue/adhesives, but the author doesn't claim it to be origami, and that is why there is the funny comment about graphic images.

Gotta say, this one has some good visual appeal to it, although I still like the Kusudama better, and that one truly is origami.

  • made one FTW

  • Very good :D

  • im mixed about the square-triangle thingy o.O can anybody help? D:

  • Google cuboctahedron and consider that all corners of the object shown (vertices) are lilies... ;)

  • omg omg omg... i will never be able to make that....

  • that is so pretty. using glue makes it so much easier and in the end it looks very effective which i think is the main point anyway.

  • :D glad you liked it!!

  • Hi barbabellaatje!!!... I think it is good to use glue... In fact, for the real kusudama, you sew the pieces together...

FROM WIKIPEDIA: "The Japanese kusudama is a paper model that is usually (although not always) created by sewing multiple identical pyramidal units (usually stylized flowers folded from square paper) together through their points to form a spherical shape. Alternately the individual components may be glued together"...

THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR VIDS...I LOVE THEM!

  • so cute!!

  • ha love the warning!!!

  • :O

Another great, impressive kusudama: it's turned out beautiful! :-D

    5*

About the glue... I always reply, to whoever complains about it, that in this world there are persons betraying, robbing, killing: so, I think that, after all, to use a bit of glue on some folded paper is not really a tragedy!
