On the show they probably set us the questions... Just tell the kids what they're going to ask, and give them the answer. So that 5th graders can look cool and smart. I'm not saying they're dumb, but they as question that you would learn, in the 5th grade. So that knowledge is still fresh in their head. Those are my theories on the show...

There's an election every four years, so the year lincoln was elected must have been a number that's divisible by 4--so you have 2 choices, 1864 or 1860. well, lincoln was already president when the war started, so it had to have been 1860.
