That is, indeed, Joe on keys. He's one of those rare cats that, when playing the Rhodes gets a sound all his own on it. I recently read an interview with Bob James talking about how difficult it is to get a 'personal' on that axe, but that what he liked about the Rhodes is that if you adjust your technique & touch it can be done. I think both he and Joe Sample are great examples of that. Maybe the ONLY cats to have ever mastered it. Great as he was, even Bill Evans couldn't manage it.

No, it's a Lyricon, Tom had the first production copy (Dave Sanborn had #2). Today's WX-5 is a descendent.
