I have a similar set up in a s-10 pickup - 383, 10.7 to 1, un touched vortecs comp springs and retainers, edelbrock performer rpm air gap, holley 650, comp cams magnum 270hr .500 lift 215* at .050 i.i.r.c.
cool...I work for PROFORMANCE POWERTRAIN and were sister companies with ATK and we aslo have dyno rooms...and yes with no porting and just good intake and headers and cam i have seen more than 400hp on vortec heads
very nice engine i know you are not going to give me cam specs but is it a custom grind cam or comp cam? because i going to use lunati brand of cam and i want that amount of torque or better dont really care about hp especially with a heavy street car.
This engine has a Hyd Roller Cam 220/224 @50 495/502 112LSA. Stout little engine combo!

No porting to these. Stock valves, upgraded springs and a nice cam is all it takes.
