In fact, it seemed to recognize that the bear was dangerous prey. It pursued it, but very carefully... I have no doubt that the much larger tiger could kill the bear - 95% of the time, anyway - but what's the point of this "chase scene"?

There are a lot of factors, you cant say any siberian tiger will kill any grizzly bear or any bear will kill any tiger, just like ppl they vary in intelligence, will, and other traits, not to mention who has eaten that day and has more stamina.

yah all Tigers > all bears, but i think i could handle that tiny little black bear if he clipped his nails before the fight. To me, this vid is akin to saying the $3.5 million 2020 Ferrari vs. the Saturn-IV boosted Yugo. Assuming the latter holds up, pretty sure I know who would win, but I still know which one I'd like to have. =)

I think they are saying that the Tiger eats Bears, but because IT has cubs, she won't risk getting hurt by fighting said bear.
Usually, if a Bear has cubs, they will hunt together, and the bear is extremely agressive.

Yep, this is stupid. This is a very small bear and I still didn't see anything getting destroyed. Had that been a grizzly, the tiger probably never would have approached it to start with. These animals seem to be smarter than most of the kids that post here.

this was a young passive bear, an aggressive adult would kill that tiger if push comes to shove, and even that beign said, nobody got destroyed in this video..a young bear got caught off gaurd and roughed a bit and he ran away and it was nothing more than that.

I'm not 100% sure but that bear looks like a sloth bear. If that is the case, keep in mind that this kind of bear is exclusively an ant eater. He has specially evolved his teeth and tongue for this kind of diet.

Siberian tiger can kill abear with ease - lol - that is a pathetic asian sun bear in the video, a shrimpy 150 pounder. A grizzly is about 1500 pounds - the tiger would last about 14.6 milliseconds

On normal circumstances you would be correct but that is a protective mother, even an adult grizzly would be severely hurt if confronted face to face. And if I'm not mistaken Polar bears are the more dominant of species for land carnivores.

They have a much lower rate of successful kills than other big cats. Tigers have about a 30% success rate whereas cougars have over 80% success rate.
