Sunday marks the 51st anniversary of the Serf Emancipation Day in Southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region. 51 years ago, millions of Tibetan serfs ushered in a whole new chapter by ending centuries of feudalism.
Everyone knows the British invaded tibet in the early 1900s when China was extremely weak and splitted it off from China, at that time called Qing Empire.
Russia, Great Britian, America, Japan, France, Germany all had sphere of influence over many of Chinese territories.
But no one in the world recognize tibet as independent...
China was the first country to recognise the country of Tibet.
The Sino-Tibetan Treaty 821/823, a treaty of friendship written in both Tibetan and Chinese set out the terms of peace and borders between Tibet and China arrived at in 821.
It can still be seen on a stone pillar in front of the Jokhang temple in the Barkhor Square in Lhasa and here
Long live tibetan Chinese and all ethnic Chinese:-)

To see some of what happened after one of the 2008 Tibet riots you can watch
Chinese Authorities Brutal Treatment of Tibetans - New Video
watch?v=PqjC9Wa3sxE
but be warned it is a hard core human rights video which shows Tibetans being beaten on the ground (which is not easy to watch) and other pretty shocking stuff.
Funny video. The Dalai Lama himself has even admitted that fraternization between the Tibetan masses and PLA troops were common. During the CIA's lama uprising the agent himself stated that they had no luck in getting help from the Tibetan masses. But I guess serfdom is still "human rights". How about "his holiness'" friends and fighters for "human rights": SA-Oberscharfuehrer Heinrich Harrer, Chilean neo-Nazi Miguel Serrano, pro-segregationist/KKK senator Jesse Helms. Hail The Chinese PLA!
Also, you assume I'm Chinese? I'm actually Caucasian. You say China is a sick country - is it really? I could say the same about the USA; the USA is a sick country because they stole the Native American's land away from them, killed thousands of them. Does that make the USA a sick country? I don't think so, it makes the government, people that actually did it sick. It applies with China too, the country isn't sick, just their government.
Obviously you say "you" as in I'm the Chinese government. I assume you think every Chinese happens to be corrupt as the next. I doubt that. Everyone knows China lacks human rights, and everyone knows most of China's population works in sweatshops, but hey China does supply a lot of products in the world, and you buy them. So if you boycott a country that supplies most of the products in the world, what would happen to the WORLDS economy, not just China's.
I find it ironic that often chinese people will display this xenophobic, irrational chinese pride; but they didn't stay in their own apparently much-loved mother country. They left!China has been hurt badly by government information blockage and propaganda for so long. And it's still there. Let's face it.
China's PR strategy --It's a classic one: blame everyone else.
Like a premature categorical denial, "everyone else sucks too" is considered a weak strategy. You might think that China might take a serious, soul-searching look at itself--with communication and openness as a solution,
You would be wrong.
They would rather deny it or play the blame game-!
China--GOLBAL domination...under the guise of concern for humanity...a return to FEUDALISM.....The dead give away is all the tactics these people use today are part and parcel taken directly from THE COMMUNIST MANIFESTO.....Just say NO to human rights abuse.Boycott
Serious questions: If Tibet attains freedom, what will its economy be based on? It is a landlocked country, so, where will it establish trade routes? Second, if the government in exile ascends to the seat of power, wouldn't the western world be supporting an extreme, yet peaceful, religious government?
um. doesn't almost EVERY COUNTRY use chinese products? i bet you if you look at your mouse right now, it'll say made in china cause mine sure as hell does.
go ahead, boycott the country that nearly supplies almost every type of product to nearly every country in the world. lets see how the economy ends up then
Are you actually boasting about how you suply the world with everything? You only do that because of your slack human rights, sweat shops aren't the western way.... If we can boycott you I'm sure your economy will fail first.
I know it will be hard but that's exactly my point.... We fund you through your torturous journey. One day your realize sick country will realize.
The Dalai Lama just wants return to the good ol' days of serfdom in Tibet where 95% of the population were his slaves. I can certainly understand that.
the dalai lama was in his teens during 1949 when the CCP entered eastern tibet (kham) illegally. from 1949-1959 the dalai lama and his ministers had many talks with mao to come to a mid-ground. in 1959 the dalai lama was adviced to flee tibet by his ministers. he was in his 20s when he reached india in 1959.
60% of tibets population were nomads. that is why tibetans are called Nomadic people. how can nomads be slaves? please dont make up fake statistics to mislead people.
Beautiful video! Next time I do one, can you help me be so clear? :-)
while it may be hard for people to "trust" these kind of statements/views; They must. Things in our world need to change, and Tibet is the "test" of our resolve to "walk the talk." Else wise? We are nothing but hypocrites......

Why not boycott USA?
Why not Free American Indians?
The most powerful nation of the world took their land from the natives (probably a good analogy to Tibatans) and trumpets democracy.
American Tiban supporters need to look no further. Look inside USA! If you cannot let Native Americans get independant, at least help them develop. Solve the unfairness at home first, before go "throw stones" and make judgements.
Chinese probably had it wrong. Go help with experience from home.
Heard it before.... Yes, this is true! They should have done this years and years ago.... before it all happened. Unfortunately it's done now, they can't go back. Same with Oz, Brazil, South Africa. We can't do anything about that now.... We can however stop it happening again. We need to learn from our mistakes. China should step down and admit that they're wrong.
One of the main reasons is because there isn't enough room in China. Sounds rediculous but that is the case. Another reason is because Tibet is on the border of many countries that China isn't. This gives them the power to further advance into a larger nation, coming closer to being the number one superpower.
There are other reasons too but I can't fit them on a youtube comment. I'll make a video and you can watch it.
Hopefully the world will see the Dalai Lama in a free Tibet in his lifetime either that or he gets reincarnated as the next head honcho of China, and fixes all the problems there.
Good question......mostly because its a huge piece of property, and strategically located. They have raped most of the natural resources over the past 50 years (clear cut forests, strip mining, etc.)
Also, they have waaay too many people....so forced relocation of Han Chinese(3,000,000+ so far)"Solves"two problems.
1) Forced inter-breeding eliminates the Tibetan peoples (like the 'Borg" 'resistance is futile' :-o
2) Gets rid of a 'unfavored' group in China...the Han.That dynasty isn't respected

A everything is consequential. Killing of Tibetans by Chinese goverment had invited all this uproar of condemnations from all around the world. This is not racism in anyway you view it. Chinese to call this as racism is fractured.
Were you speaking to me? All I said was the Chinese goverment invited this consequence. Their action in Tibet resulted in world's sentiment to turn against them. Chinese to call this as the racism is illogical. This doesn't make sense to you? O.K then.
No, that is a ridiculous thing to say. I'm not a racist person, I have many Chinese friends and would one day like to visit china to see your country. I am, however, against your government and will do anything within my power to deter then from their obviously destructive path.
Why don't you just look it up on the internet. You will find the same results.... I got my stats from official Chinese records and them compared them to the T.G.E records. I do not feel like I need to prove these records to you as they are quite widely known throughout the world.
Even anti-Chinese sources doubt that the number is that high. I have seen the number 1.2 million pop up everywhere because that is the figure usually promoted by the Tibetan government in exile.
China uses propaganda, but so does Tibetans, in order to promote their independence movement to international audiences.
Wikipedia is not the be all & end all of discussion. I know about the farming that Mao instilled, I'm in the process of creating a new video about this. But genocide did and is going on @ this very moment. Just because they were forced to grow crops that don't grow in Tibet doesn't mean that they didn't also murder and slaughter whole families. You should think about what you say before you go accusing others. u obviously rely too much on Wikipedia. It was 30m from famine & 1.2m hands on murder.
There isn't any genocide going on in China. My uncle visited Tibet about 3 years ago and it was, in fact, a very serene place (although the native Tibetans themselves want independence).
But I never denied genocide not occurring under Mao's rule. I have relatives that survived his regime and they tell me that people were killed for all kinds of reasons back then.
Wrong, in fact anti-chinese sources think that the number could b much higher. Why bother commenting on a video with such a naive point of view. The Tibetans have never used the dirty form of propaganda that the Chinese use. It's discusting2 hear the crap that ur country comes up with, I feel sorry 4 the residents of China 4 being stuck in such a currupt, imposing and inbalanced rule.
I see that the online propaganda has taken a new form, pretending 2 b outside support. No-one supports ur views
I don't think it is fair to embrace everything said by the Tibetans and dismiss everything the Chinese government says as propaganda. In fact, both are trying to promote their own causes and both use propaganda.
You're an idiot. Anyone who actually thinks that about one of the nicest men on the planet must be an absolute hooligan.
Launch a peoples war, see what happens. the chinese will be wiped out by the leaders of this world. You will regret it.... I've never taken up arms but against the chinese, in support of the Tibetans, I will.
Good job! The same thing happens in Sri Lanka where i lived. The tamils in the north and east get treated the same way by the Sinhalese government. Then they spread propaganda that tamil terrorists are responsible. Exactly the same the thing. The resemblance is shcoking, and by the way SL government has close ties with Chinese government.
One day very soon China will look into its own eye's and see how it looks beyond its own closed border.
One day Tibet will be free and the people of the world will have to say sorry for allowing this situation to go on for so long now, and like marchellogentile1 says I too have been under constant attack from the Chinese shills or propaganda machine, they know the world is turning away from there greed and that scares them.
I receive about 30 comments from Chinese government propaganda offices. All the same crap and all coming from the same IP address. We should demand an investigation by Youtube and that they would block them. Any way I also find out that the world stand for Tibet. We must stop buying there product and has you suggested Boycott the Olympic games. Keep your spirit high. TIBET IS NOT PART OF CHINA AND IT WILL NEVER BE.
That's what I expected, I think the Chinese are paying people to be on youtube 24 hours a day just to badmouth the rest of the world. I'll write to youtube... Could you possibly send me their IP address. thanks.
Also thanks for the comment, it's nice to see that there are people who have sense.
Yes, it's true. Pro-Tibetan comments have been getting erased off Youtube for months. China is trying to censor the entire free world and spam it with Chinese propoganda. These are the same tactics they use against their own people. China is making itself look very bad to the international community due to this media & cyber censorship. China invited the free-world into its country, but can't handle the international spotlight. China's not ready to handle a global event like the Olympics.
I'm sorry to say but that is just lies. Official records: (TAR) Tibet's autonomous Regions = 5,500,000 people. Kham and Amdo = 4,500,000 Just for you I'll ado the Math... 10 million. Another factor you missed out was the fact that the Chinese (1950) brought in 40,000 P.L.A. Since then, they have brought in a further 1,000,000 people to live and serve in Tibet. You were the one that did the maths wrong. So the answer to your question is, YES, I do have a brain. Do you???
Come on. There was only 1.5 million people in Tibet in 1949. You said 1.2 million has been killed. Now, there are more than 2 million Tibetants in Tibet. Do you have a brain? How those numbers add up?
Over 1.2 million Tibetans have died as a direct result of the Chinese invasion and occupation of Tibet. Today, it is hard to come across a Tibetan family that has not had at least one member imprisoned or killed by the Chinese regime. According to Jigme Ngabo, "after the suppressions of 1959 and 1969, almost every family in Tibet has been affected in some way".

It was not genocide nor systematic extermination that killed the Tibetans after the Communists took power.
Mao Zhedong's "Great Leap Forward," a policy designed to nationalize agriculture, resulted in huge famines.
Tens of millions died under Mao's rule, but the majority was because of famine, not genocide.
...and if you think I am a Chinese government official who is spreading propaganda on Youtube, I laugh at you.
