Are u saying only people that have cochlear implants are killing themselves? Let's be realistic there is a lot more going on in their life to cause the depression.
@kalijasin There are a lot of people who commit suicide. This is wrong. But it has to do with being depressed a chemical unbalance not do to cochlear implants. Don't be stupid.
@kalijasin being sent to these school cost a lot of money. Not every parent has the money to send their kid away to school. Get over your hurt find a better doctor and get cochlear implants. You would love them. Ii do.
One of the best YouTube videos I have ever seen. My heart is totally melted. I am so happy for your family and for Solomon. Please give us an update on how he's doing!
The reason the Deaf Community is so stubborn in both refusing to be labeled disabled, and in trying to stand against technology that would remove this disability, is because of deafness' unique status as a disability that imparts a significant social barrier to the rest of the world.
To cope with this, the Deaf have managed remarkably well in crafting a close-knit community that offers togetherness and aid, but like all sub-cultures this has also resulted in the classic "Us vs Them" mentality.
I'm an ASL student. This video was very special. Thanks for sharing. Also, I'm curious, will you continue to do sign with Solomon? And will you be involving him in Deaf culture/community from time to time? and @ derikgolf78, I understand what you are saying. Deaf people are very proud of their culture. So @torontokoshiki, he was just saying that Deaf people are VERY helpful when hearing parents birth a deaf child. It is so much more to them than a language.
@TripleTopicsTV can u explain why people in africa are starving and "god doesn't help them"? does "god" like to watch them suffer, what about the dinosaurs? what about god creating a world full of salt water and only a little bit of that water is drinkable? your living in a fantasy bro, your just using it so you can "pretend" your going to a better place after you die.
i wonder what was going through those 5 peoples minds when they disliked this video, how could someone dislike this, this is so uplifting and insperational!
@GetDemRimz cudos to you for being one of very few smart and logical people on this earth! @TripleTopicsTV science made rainbows too, not 'god'! you can make a rainbow with a garden hose... am i god? who am i promising not to flood again if i make a rainbow with a garden hose?? ants?... i hate ants!!! god isnt love cause god isnt real!!
@GetDemRimz because we poluated that water..and we took God away from school, our town and stuff and we all ask where he is. Well he gives us the choice to do everything, we can choose to either follow or not, and people just decide not to follow him
As parents we can only strive to try to do what we feel is best for our children.. I wish all the best to this lovely family and great hopes for Solomons future. :)
Didn't you last claim that you were a black belt martial artist, and that you had gotten a scholarship to some school or somesuch? And then there was the whole "say that to my face"-threat, so I assume you're super buff to back this all up to.
Either you're a deaf powerhouse that spends all his days trolling CI vids, or you're just another sad bastard making up "justified lies" for the "cause of the Deaf Community". I'm betting on the latter
and I was worry about next kids DEAF was same me. I not want see deaf kids grow will education will stuck with 3-4 grade are all life.. most 90% hearing parent's deaf children become adult will like 2-4 grade from Oralist school. 10% deaf parent's deaf children become adult will like 5-8 grade from deaf family and deaf school. I beg most hearing parent listen and learn from deaf family, deaf family will help hearing parent
@Derikgolf78 You obviously got your implant too late..they work very well for some people and deftness is not the only way..you should not judge everyons situation as if it were your own..your path is not the only one.
@Torontokoshiki It is not true that older people can't learn to hear after getting an implant. I saw a documentary of a british couple who are both deaf and got their implant for the very first time, they were about 80 years old, and they can actually hear with it. While one of them can hear very well, the other one finds the CI sometimes very annoying, but it did actually help her hearing. The main factor of being able to hear is how well the cochlear and the nerve are functioning.
@Derikgolf78 Well. You're follow the Deaf culture made you stopped wear CI. I have the 3 friends stopped wear CI at deaf school. They are regretted to have CI because they are followed to Deaf culture. I decided to receive a CI to hear. I have no regret to have CI. It's my personal choice. I believe all deaf babies need to have CI. They don't need to have an interpreter to go doctor appointment in the future. CI is the independence. ASL interpreters for Deaf people are dependence.
@Derikgolf78 You can't make all hearing parents to do with deaf babies. They are not yours. None of your business. I don't care if you stopped wear CI. It's your own problem. Bi BI is not helping because Bi BI is involve with one spoken language in English and One American SIgn Language in same time. ASL isn't an English. It's FRENCH! Bi BI is very complex. The best is Total Communicate with Signed Exact English for deaf and hoh children.
@BionicGeekChic you make a compelling argument with your broken English. well done. i don't even need to debate how your theory is moot. i'm a native ASL user whose 2nd language is English. you guessed it; i'm bilingual-bicultural.
@itsJENNY2u I was a native SEE user then exposed to ASL at Deaf Camp then go to Deaf School. I found it out my English was poor because of Deaf School changed my communication method to ASL/Bi Bi from SEE. I lost my speech skill because of ASL. The Deaf School wanted me to be Anti-Oral role model and against CI. I think it's not right to force all hearing parents to learn ASL or BI BI. They have right to make a decide do best for deaf and hard of hearing children.
@itsJENNY2u I respect it's your opinion. Bi BI didn't working for me. I am not only one who I am poor in English. It was not my faulted. Why is many deaf people's English grammar is poor?? Because of lacking the speech skill and use ASL all the times. I am in both of side Deaf/Hearing world. I don't need to be involve with ASL vs Oral WAR. I'm both signing and speak as an equal.
@Derikgolf78 your statistics are old..with new programing technology and bilateral implants they are no longer stuck at a3-4 grade level. In a regular school my son has more acess to sound and speaking people. He also has a state of the art fm system that makes the teachers voice seem right next to him..its ausome and he is already almost caught up to hearing kids of his own age. Deftness used to be permanent but it is not anymore.

Smile. and I was inside Deaf program at hearing school is Not good for deaf kids and me. and DEAF School is so best for deaf education use ASL and Bilingual make Learn so lot! I feel so late.
@Derikgolf78 At least you were not experimented on by doctors. The doctors who experimented on me trying to understand my deafness traumatized me for life. I should of been sent to the American school for the Deaf or Washington state school for the Deaf and taught sign language. No one cared though. All the doctors wanted was a lab rat and my parents, all the wanted was to try an make me hearing.
