I would think with the aid of lasers , they could scan each piece and with the use of a computer they could a 3d model but if the earlier restorers chiseled some of the pieces before they put it together than they will never find the right pattern.As for why the columns are sloped, its to direct the pressures inward in case of earthquakes no?that makes sense to me , maybe I'm wrong
