i have been lucky enough 2 go and meet these horses and they r truely amazing animals. i have also had the honour 2 ride the lead horse that jumps through the paper wall. i have also had the best 18 months looking after him in his well deserved retirement along with his equine wife. unfortunatly i have 2 inform every1 that he very peacefully passed away earlie this year. sorry 2 bring such bad news xx loved my boy he will never b 4gotten xx

I was sitting just one block of seats away from you! The police were A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I nearly fell of my seat when they had taken their saddles off! I was watching them and thinking "this is fantastic!" and the next thing I knew, they were holding their saddles up in the air!

Hooooooooollllly cow. That was kind of certifiably insane and the coolest thing I have ever seen at the same time. When they were jumping through the hexagons, I was thinking, 'My horses would spook at that. Those are some good ponies.' And then they set it on fire. I was in SHOCK. And they had their stirrups and tack off before I even realized it was being taken off! WHILE THEY WERE CANTERING. That was amazing! Loved the music too. A fine display of riding. Well done!

yeah, they are officially my horse riding heroes. Our mounted police unit just bumps a big ball around and calls it an exhibition, dont get me wrong, they are awesome people... but when it comes to giving a show and getting the crowd rolling, these guys know how to do it!! And the fact that they took their saddles off without even getting off the horse is just amazing. At first, I thought they were holding something like a fat puppy.. then I realized what they were and nearly screamed!!

Ok, they removed their jackets and then put them back on while jumping. That was cool. Then a horse jumped through something that looks for him like a solid wall. That made me tear up. Then they removed their stirrups. That made me laugh. And then, THEN, they have something in their hands... I'm like: what's that ? It's their freaking SADDLE for crying out loud !! :O

Yes they do - you could not keep a saddle on without a girth. You can see the girth hanging from a couple of the saddles when they are line riding at the end after the bare-back jumps.

My aunt used to do this with the police. They used to have a huge show very year at imber court but they stopped because not enough people came. :( It was amazing. The horses they use for the police are sometimes rescue horses that are so desensitized through abuse and neglect, they are unfased by the fire and crowds. Bless them x x

Um - they're police officers, so yes they get paid a wage. This is done as a demonstration of the trust between horse and rider resulting from their training.
