@SWATFITNESSTRAINING First of all because they operate in an urban environment so there is no need to wear camoflauge, you cant really blend in with concrete. Secondly they are not in the military so they need to stop trying to play soldier when they never even seen combat.

First off (vs "of"), it's poor form on your part as a (claimed) ex mil/SF type to talk dirt about men you don't know anything about. A good portion of them (as is common in other tact LE) are ex mil and have indeed seen combat as both mil and LEO. So, be the "quiet professional" you are claiming to be and give those of the thin blue line respect they'd give you.

Most law enforcement agencies in Canada have SWAT teams. You have to get employed by a police department first of course, then try out for SWAT second. Not that hard. Fun life for a single man. But if u get married and pop out some kids, better find something that pays a little better.

Take two men, same physical ability, mental capacity and marksmanship, but one has been a police officer a length of years versus the other who has served in the military. Is the one who has served in the military going to have drastically better chances of being picked for the SWAT?

@DigitalEmpires you have to be a patrol officer for a certain amount of years..anywhere from 2-4 years. you cant just go straight into SWAT

@DigitalEmpires You need to be LEO 1st.....And more times than not, you need 5-10 years of experience in patrol. You can get lucky and be on SWAT after 1 or 2 years if its a small department, and volunteer. If your under 30, you can pretty much forget about......Life experience is a must as well.

Does training parkour come in handy for swat missions? I mean, you gotta learn how to vault fast with one hand because you carry a gun/rifle right? And maybe wallruns/wallclimbs are helpful! I mean that you run, take one step on the wall and then climb on the roof, something like that. But maybe that's a bit hard with all your gear?

Not necesarily Magic, when police call in the S.W.A.T team it is either a hostige situation,and heavely armed or baricaded suspect. When S.W.A.T is called they are there to use lethal force and if the suspects don't surender they may or most likly will be shot and killed or seriously wounded, but if at all posible they will ocasionaly try to aprehend the suspect by disabling the suspect

No, aprehending a suspect isn't always the case if the S.W.A.T team is called in its in a hostige situation, hevely armed or baracaded suspects. If the S.W.A.T team is called and if the suspects don't surrender they will either be killed or commit suicide if they do not surrender.

they are trained better when it comes to swat. swat is the only agency that produce hard police veterans that sweep the streets of lawless elements. police work is the only work that aims in protecting rather than killing. so its harder to apprehend a suspect than to kill him.
