Oh! Sorry, this is such a late response, and a lame one at that. That was the end of it. The wolverine gave up and went away :-( It's too bad I couldn't get better footage. All three animals ran right behind us, then up onto the rocky outcropping. The young dall sheep had a big gash on its leg, we were thinking the wolverine might have made contact before they came into view? I still can't believe I got to see this!
Believe it or not Dall Sheep usually stay pretty calm as long as you approach from above, like the Wolverine did. I've approached them from above many times and have even gotten close enough one time to sit within about ten ft. of a group of five large rams that were bedded down and they never got up and barely paid any attention to me at all. However they almost always run away if they see you approach from below them, often while you're still hundreds of yards away.
good defence for those sheep is there footing there like come get us the wolverine had no chance even if he could get a hold of one they would probably both fall to their deaths
wow...the poor dall sheeps were thinking anymore closer and we'd be dead...probably wait for the wolverine to come closer bcuz maybe we can break our fall on him.
I wonder if the wolverine was waiting around the corner.....
lived in ak for 19 years and i never saw a wolverine that close to sheep, that may be crappy footage but i don't know anyone else whose caught that on tape

incredible footage, rare enough just to see a wolverine, let alone one hunting a dall sheep lamb.
