I first saw this solo on piece of sheet music for this band I was playing for and I needed to hear and was just blown away by nsangue's joyous melodies and the albums he's on are all great. And although not evident here, He gets a absolutely great sound out of the POS bass
@sabrinaplease that bass is an ESP 1980's vintage model. Besides Guy Nsangue, Masayoshi Yamashita of the Loudness Band played that model except with a different neck and headstock. It was a quality instrument and ESP still offers quality instruments for musicians. Guy had some pics taped to the body on his, dosen't make that bass a POS. I'd have it in a new york second and I can reach behind me and grasp an Alembic. Guy switched one of the P bass pickups.
@misterpink71 no, that's definately an 80's era ESP. Note the double P pickup arrangement. Also note the control placement. The only thing that has me puzzled is the neck seems to be either a Jackson or a Charvel or a Kramer with 21 frets.
answer to@kuuuks The more important to be able to play like this guy (Nsangue) is to get a natural talent which is an additive of this parameters ; an excellent give back of the songs you listen on your bass, a lot of time on your bass trying give back many others excellents guy like nsangue but not just him...an finally i thing ,get that excess of inspiration that only got gives to some minority of persons like this guy (nsangue) !it's the desicive factor to validate your dream!!good luck!
Why do I keep coming to this video....very addictive, can somebody show me how to play like this...lol. I thought Ghana had some good bass players but I'm blown away by these Cameroonians, boy they can play some bass.
we have many bassits from our country (cameroon) but.betwen all those excellents boys (bona, toure, sabal brothers, mbappe, bisou etc...) the reality is that today, this guy (Nsangue) have a step before all the others because Nsangue bass ariculation is just excellent!!!!!!THE BEST in my own opinion !!!thank you brother NSANGUE
"Tchokola" is 20 years old and still sounds new. And Nsangue owns it.

That's a true bass solo ; not like this technical crap that sounds like pigs being raped.
He's actually playing bass, and not an "under-guitar"
