Shrivy sorry but cod fish, Haddock, hake, wolf fish, and pollock are the most common carriers of those particular parasites they are not in Rock bass or salmon.
I am a fisherman on the east coast. You can hold the fillet up to the light,(a process called candleing), and remove them, I know this is a hastle but well worth it! or just fry it grease will kill anything. Mind over matter
@ASAKNUSUM This is disgusting though, no one wants to eat worms in their fish, and they definitelty shouldnt be there, you probably would be disgusted to if this happened to you and you ate them so it not simply "mind over matter" no, its gross and this woman shouldnt have had to put up with this disgusting surprise.
I've been researching for a report and it seems like they aren't that uncommon. apparently they are more common in fish that live closer to shore as their target host is sea lions and marine mammals, so rockfish and salmon are more prevalent carriers.
And well no one wants to eat parasites, they are in pretty much anything. that's why you cook things usually, its just worms you can actually see with the naked eye which is disturbing on some level.fortunately I don't eat fish .
