  • This is Sad

  • I was at a baseball game in Basehor, Kansas, and they had to cancel my game because of weather, and we stopped right off of K-7 and I-70 and saw the tornado i was 11 at the time, it was pretty cool. Since then i love severe weather!

  • @Firecat7409

    I've lived in Overland Park!

  • @HiVultage01 I'm truly sorry about that ;) lol

  • @Firecat7409

Sorry about what? I'm just saying I lived there. Did this twister hit there?

  • @HiVultage01 Dunno but we sure the hell had one in NY last night. I 'tubed it too. go to my channel and take a look...

  • @HiVultage01 No this one is between lansing and kck. Northern wyandotte co.

  • This is the one! My first (and hopefully last) sighting of a tornado. I live a few miles southwest of the Speedway in Linwood Kansas and at the time I saw it, it was small and not clearly visible even though I was only about a mile away from it. By the time it crossed my field of view, it grew in size and strength, getting darker and darker as it picked up debris and the roar from it sounded exactly like they say - a freight train! Something I will never forget.

  • thumbs up if you live in kansas city

  • @GTA3211 i am going there next week

  • Was this one of the F5's?

  • F4's Sorry

  • she's a view isnt she?

  • Oh I remember this day. It was crazy!

  • I outran that thing. I was coming from the Speedway, woodlands area.

  • damn there are alot of tornado's in Kansas City!

  • Not necessarily.

  • May 4th is my brithayday im 13 yrs old

  • that tornado was in Kansas on your birthday! Happy Birthday!

  • I have always hated May 4th.

    It's my unlucky day =[

  • this is the view i SHOULD have had. i lost it in the trees looking N from Parallel Pkwy, just E of I-435. grrr.

  • I saw a tornado that day, in bonner springs area, near the speedway, it was an awesome sight, i was 10 but still lol

  • Wasn't that a multiple vortex tornado or did it have suction vorticeas?

  • ,,it was a multitesticle tornado with a rapid orgasm suction quadplex !

  • Isn't that that same thing?

  • At 0:50, we can see mini tornado (satellit tornado ?) next to the main tornado, it's beautiful !

  • if that's the one that hit Riverside, it hit my house! i didn't get to see it, other than on dopplar, but my home was in the direct path of the one that hit between Parkville and Riverside, Mo.

    cool video.

  • That's the one.

  • that tornado literally jumped my aunts house thank the lord. It destroyed the entire neighborhoods on both sides of them though.

  • that was my aunt and uncles house

  • i live in blue springs and i didnt see any that day i was 12..??

  • It was north of the river. I believe that's near Riverside.

  • OMG! I do remember watching tons of tornadoes on the news that night. Yeah, i think 80 tornadoes did touched down that night. But I was only, 11 years old at the time and didn't know much about tornadoes.

  • i was watching and taping the live coverage of this tornado on channel 9 out of kansas city when the chopper cam first caught sight of it.

  • uhh if i was there i be dead of fright

  • i live near the speedway(were that 1 hit) it was scary the whole neighbor hood was in my base ment 1 of the scariest nites of my life

  • I was at the speedway watching my friend do the richard petty driving experience and after they were done we ate at a Crackel Barrel nearby when we heard the sirens go off. It seriously kinda came out of nowhere. So I started taking pictures and got them to the newspaper a few hours after it hit.

  • eighty tornados struck that day

  • i remember that day!!!!! i was on I-435 chasing it!! and that tornado almost hit my grandmother's house!!!!!!!!!!

  • kool

  • I remember this all too well, yet, it didn't hit out here in Independence, seemed to just go around us (closest it got was the Missouri River on the northside).

  • It was a nice, warm, sunny day, mostly. The supercells were almost all tornadic at one point or another that day. KS and MO had a huge number of tornados that day. I lived in liberty at the time. I believe that tornado was on the ground for 2 hours.

  • I remember this.

  • I was at my mother's apartment in Edwardsville (directly south of the Kansas Speedway) that day. The skies had this eerie green color to the clouds. I saw some rotation in the clouds, but the tornadoes were to the north of us. Oddly, our sirens weren't sounding and we didn't have to evacuate.

  • Oddly if I remember right, the weather really wasn't bad that day, as I was leaving my apt which was in the westside near downtown KCMO, on my way to a BBQ in union hill and though the sky was still a very strange color, it was clearing up and partly sunny by the time I arrived. I was actually unaware of the situation happening to the west & north until I arrived at the BBQ and everyone was watching the news & all freaked out because of the tornado.

  • i was a quarter of a mile away when my dad told me i might die. by the way i was 8 or 9. lol.

  • I remember May 4th. I was at Barrywoods AMC 24 theater, over by Thorobred Ford. We came up on it like 2-3 minutes after it destroyed Carrige Hills. It had already dissapated.

  • Was living in KC at the time and remember being out driving on I70 when they mentioned it on the radio. Was trying to remember--was this the same nado that destroyed the Toyota dealership in North Kansas City (where I bought my first Toyota in '98)? Awesome footage.

  • yep, thats the one. it also ripped through liberty and destroyed half of william jewells campus.

  • i just remember getting ready to go out to eat and we turned on the news and it said any body the the area of the woodlands go to your basements i lived on 85th St. it took the siding off our house anad it took or fence that was a day from hell

  • we were going home from my grandmas house and we saw it it was sooooooooooo scary my dad was scared to we got in a dict it was ritht over us it missed r car i had to go to the hospital there was a small boared in my arm

  • this says kansas city but I do not recognize the location. Is that in Parkville,Mo, Liberty or Gladstone?

  • If I remember correctly, the video was shot by a security camera at the Woodlands in Kansas City, Kansas.

  • where can I find kansas city north footage or gladstone. I have been looking for this for years.

  • thats borderline crazy shit right there

  • O my i remember that...We were at the zoo for a school field trip and i remember going home on the bus and right above the city the sky was a dark greenish color...man....

  • yeah it was a few years before that one and we were on our way home from jeff city for a school field trip and it formed literally a mile or 2 from where we were so we had to stay in some randm rec center in sedalia

  • How fast was this tornado moving?

  • I to remeber this day, I was on the school bus in Sedalia and we saw a tornado forming in this big field, the bus driver dropped us off and said get home fast and into the basement, well seing as I love tornadoes for there beauty I stood out there and watched with a friend. The tornado started to form above me literally and it felt as though I was about to get lifted off the ground, so I bolted after that one lol.

  • Why no audio on this video? Just curious.

  • well if it is true that it was a security camera then it will not have the sound, although I so wish there was sound because it would be really dramatic

  • I remember May 4th like the back of my hand... I NEVER want anything like that to happen again.

    *remembers she lives in KCMO*

    Crap...

  • i remember that so clearly. i never get scared of storms but that had me glued to the tv

  • That was a day of hell may 4 wow

  • dude i lived there my house was totaly riped to shreds i lot my doggs nena and fro fro in the strom we found there bodys in the wreckage.

  • their was a couple of deaths but they were indirectly related to the tornado. The video is from a security camera at the woodland race track in kansas city kansas

  • this was an f-4 tornado and their were some deaths.
