A month after i bought my brand new GSXR 750 one of my 'buddies' talked me into a ride without telling me that there was an included 4.5 mile section of downhill coarse gravel road ( in the mts. of NC) kinda nerve wracking, but an interesting experience..... If it was all easy, it would get less interesting eventually..... Right?
Hehe, I remember that day. Next time I'll have a better wheelie for the camera, and I won't be complaining about fist sized boulders because I'll have me some better tires mounted.
Oh, and the stairs thing just ain't funny. It was a good first attempt... it's not like I got yelled at by some angry, swollen car wash employee... ALlllright... it was a little funny. Or a lot. Probably funnier from your perspective.
@dodgerider26 And I'll be able to wheelie, period! *braaaap!*
The stairs were hilarious. I was mentally doing a *facepalm*. It was as hilarious as me almost falling off my bike. Darn ground, always farther away than anticipated...
@TheTacticalBarrage Apparently, it would cost over $6mil to fix, since they'd have to repair/reinforce the ground underneath the road. For now, there just isn't the budget for it. It's been like this for... 2 years now? LOL Something like that. They keep building/adding more road blocks. There are 2 or 3 layers of road blocks on each side by now. Bicycles and joggers still frequent it. I think they've managed to stop even the most adventurous trucks, though.
Lauriejennifer, love your video's!!! I'm plannng to take the mighty KTM to work in the morning here in Oregon. Not raining..... so I'm riding each moment I can muster. I love your bike!
Also, when you film on your bike.. where do you place the mic.? Your voice is so crisp in each video. Cheers! Thank you for getting all our juices going when you ride and film. Cool beans!
@rolpal619 Naw, not yet. Lots of practice still. I can just snap on in 1st like he can (he has more than twice the hp I do). However, once we get my carb sorted...
@Dexi Was great fun! I wish I had more footage. My gosh, there was sooo much random fun. This was just one part of the day. It will be up to Dodge to post any footage from the rest of our adventure(s). I'm assuming he'll post the video of me almost falling off my bike as payback, if enough people ask him about the stairs.
@lauriejennifer Ok I'll go ask him then :P The dealer tried to sell me an enduro type bike and I thought of you... haha. But I don't think it's really for me.
@Dexi When I was looking at my first bike, I was torn between a Ninja 250, a DR200, or a TW200. I ended up with the Ninja, but now I've come full circle. LOL And it is *definitely* for me. You get the best of all worlds! And, plus, it's like the Parkour of motorcycles (since trials bikes aren't street legal or practical for distance).
@Dexi I totaled it on a road that even my motard would have seriously struggled on. I figured, if I was going to keep coming upon such hazards (potholes, torn up roads, sand, etc.), then a sportbike just didn't make sense for daily commuting, let alone as my only vehicle.
@zquaitte Thanks! I love this road. I had assumed the latest road block(s) attempt was finally impassable. Dodge said, "Well, let's just go check." The rest, as they say, is history!
This reminds me of the roads in PA. Where was it?

What is with the road? They give up on the road repair out there?

Looks like the two of you had a good time. I wish I could do things like that but if I got a motard I would end up in jail for hooligan riding.

@azwakko It is an absolute riot. I would never want to go back to a sportbike for my daily rider.

@lauriejennifer That is a pretty good way of looking at it. I actually decided on a ninja 500. Did you get rid of your ninja or do you still have it?

@dddude55 Ah, not handguards. Well, there are handguards under there, but those are handlebar mitts. It is winter, remember.

What happens when an irresistible force meets an pile of dirt on the road? You ride over or around it.

@dahveed284 Over is the most fun! Around often means branches smacking you in the face (not that I would know...).
