  • hmm at 1:20 i thought it was the police officer that had the siren on?

  • First time I've seen fire engines with flags flying. In my state here, they doesn't do that.

  • yeah it is nice to see some patriotism and the flag of the country flying proudly, wouldnt happen here in negland for fear of upsetting the minorities...

  • @mortgagewizard40 Too true Sir. There are 2 reasons why our Fire Engines would not fly the British Flag:

    1) The 'Bean-counters' would say it cost's too much to keep re-newing them.

    2) Local Government scared of some ethnic or immigrant minority complaining that our Flag offends them and breaches thier human rights (No, I am not joking1)

  • Great Video Please have a look at my vids, Fire Engine Sirens, diggers, Police Sirens, ambulance sirens and more. thanks ALL uploaded again due to someone deleting my Video's :S

  • Cool flag on the truck @ 2:11 !

  • wow... everytime i see the ladder truck at the end with the Qs and the horn my nips get hard lmao

  • i wish gas was still $1.36

  • @sandi555444 well, in canada, it os still at 1.36$, but for a liter !!

  • @sandi555444

That's exactly what I was thinking when I saw that..

  • Are both the white rigs spares in this video, or were they still frontline apparatus?

  • @28ENGINE3 >>>---> Yes. The first engine in was Engine 5 with their 1988 Quality Monarch. They put a Federal Q between the two speakers on the front bumper them selves. The other white rig was Engine 10 and I believe it was a 1987 Quality Monarch. We have 5 Monarchs as reserve rigs. At present 2 of them are out for major repairs and one is used at the fire accademy. So, as of May 1, 2011 there are only 2 engines on the reserve list.

  • @800kirby >>>---> No

  • @zaffdoc...how bad was it?

  • @crazymhan242 >>>---> Moderate damage. Here anytime all first alarm fire apparatus arrive on the scene without being turned around it is a significant fire.

  • where are they all heading too?

  • @crazymhan242 >>>--> Apartment building fire

  • @crazymhan242 There was a free lunch

  • i dont think the cops should go lights and sirens to fire calls. all they do is get in the way

  • @hlandscaping17 But the best part is when you're the 1st/2nd in engine driver and you get to block them in when you hit the plug because they parked right next to it......

  • are you an actual firefighter or do you just follow the truck around?

  • @quadkid4 >>>----> I am a vol ff - emt-b. I am an honorary fire chief and have been issued a fire depatment pager and HT (hand held transceiver) and most importantly I am a member of the Signal 51 Group and we are paged out on all working fires. BTW, why do you ask?

  • Man I remember when gas was $1.36, now it is $3.50 where im from, love the ending

  • oh god, what i would do to get gas back to 1.36 a gallon again haha

  • Wow this must have been taken a long time ago Havent seen fuel that cheap in over 10 years.

  • @zaffdoc He means that american Firetrucks are Awsome.

  • amerikanische Feuerwehrn sind einfach nur Geil!!!!!!!!!

  • @90horni Er is amerikaner.

  • @mOviestarthw12 Thank you. I guess the "!!!!" messed up the translation for "Geil!!!" and so I just put "Geil" into the Google translator it came back "horny." I guess that could be true, too. LOL. I guess this can explain why countries have a hard time understanding each other.

  • @90horni Thanks for the nice compliment for our firefighters!

  • something tells me u live in my city shreveport

  • @ryannewman4life1 Aaaah my cover is blown!

  • @zaffdoc im now looking at it again i know its the shreveport barksdale highway not far from i live and it looks like that was in 1990 something right

  • You need to visit us firefighters in Delaware, and bring your cameras. Hell I'll give you a pager so you know where the action is! :D nice videos, amazing quality compared to the other 90% of FD response vids where the camera didn't turn on until the engine was already passing by, and even if they did get it in time it was being recorded by a violently shaking and blurred cellphone." Keep up the good work and stay safe out there!

  • This video is absolutely fantastic. In concert with YouTube, the producer of this amazing presentation of art has provided the cyber public with rare insight to the extremely rare occurrence of passing fire trucks. The exhaustive diligence and obvious great fortune have come together to make the internet richer. I am totally awestruck. If by chance you're able to video document a pigeon or perhaps a young person with a baseball cap on backwards, that would indeed define your legacy.

  • @jwarren818 You sir, have left me an absolutely fantastic comment, which is such an outstanding way to deliver a back-handed slap. In concert with all those that express themselves so eloquently by leaving comments like yours that are so meaningful and poetic, it must be my only resonable reply that your are full of crap.

  • @zaffdoc To somebody watching from the U.K. - the video is indeed interesting - quite different from over here.

  • @zaffdoc Touche'!

  • i remember when gas was 1:36$.hhahahahhahha at 2:20

  • lol look at the gas prices at the end i wish they was that low again

but once again another good video doc

  • I'm loving all the flags on the back of the rigs. Good catch bro!

  • A lot of rigs for an alarm activation. Does each rig count as a call or is the box and all units responding on one incident number?

  • @MGoose707 Shreveport maintains a Class 1 Fire Department status which, among other things, reduces the amount of insurance that the citizens pay. To keep the Class 1 certain standards are required. Such as an apartment building on fire with occupants gets 4 engines, 2 ladder trucks, 2 rescue units, 1 medic unit, and a battalion chief. It was an alarm of fire, not an automatic alarm.

  • @zaffdoc Here in Buffalo, an Alarm Of Fire gets 3 engines, 3 trucks (one truck as the F.A.S.T. truck) the Rescue, a Battalion chief, the Division Chief (B-56), EMS Supervisor (F-20), Mobile Air (F-9), and the Fire Marshals (F-11,12)

  • @MGoose707

ISO Rating is another reason, along with the possibility that it was a Pull Station or actual Fire.

Discounting Automatic Fire Alarms as "Just a Fire Alarm" will get you into a court room and looking stupid.

  • A lot of rigs for an alarm activation.

  • something about the siren send a chill up my spine everytime

  • nice whelen

  • Whenever I see that much apparatus responding I always picture someone blowing "Charge!" on a bugle! Great response and great video. Thanks for sharing!

  • was that all 1 call

  • man it looked like there was going to be a crash at 1:30

  • Nice vid..kick ass siren work(q of course) im a firefighter for Morgan city, la and i wish we had a response like that we got a total of 4 trucks and 1 ladder....

  • @firefighterology

No, you have 4 Engines and 1 Truck.

    Engine Company-Truck Company.

  • was this right after 9/11, just wondering cause of all the flags

  • @Futurefirefighter99 Yes it was filmed on 6-21-02

  • that was all 1 alarm?

  • i like the second engine :)

  • how do you find these's all the tome

  • @zach8299 I am clairvoyant!

  • @zaffdoc a what

  • @zach8299 That means I am a psychic.

  • gotta love that noise haha

  • Damn look at those gas prices!!!!

  • To the people eho think this is over kill..you must not have any experience in the fire service. This is for an apartment fire which is a high risk box becouse of the likely hood of more people being trapped. On a high risk box you get 3 engines and 3 special service pieces which are the 2 trucks and the rescue squad. if this is a working fire u will need all of those. so shut up unless u know what ur talking about

  • jump.. its only 2 storeys

  • A bit of an over kill dontcha think? But I guess that is your only option if you don't get enough help their quickly.

  • a bit of over kill dontcha think?

  • @Mitchee2 Unless you live on the 2nd floor and everything underneath you is on fire.

  • @Mitchee2

how is only 6 trucks is overkill?

  • i would love it if the damn oil companies would let the gas get back down too that price again instead of jacking all of our money for them selfs.

  • You have cheap gas prices in the USA, in germany we pay for the liter gas about 1.35€ (which means 6.90$ per gallon)

  • @Stadel81 Those were 2002 prices, but they approached $5.00 at one time. Now the price is about $2.60 a gallon. (Feb. 2010)

  • @zaffdoc: I see, in 2002 we also paid less than now. The highest price we paid was in 2008. But now it is getting exciting, the economy is recovering and the dollar gets stronger --> both indicators for higher gas prices :-)

  • Great video! Loved the gas price!

  • ha ha the fire fighters received news that one of the gas stations has lowered their prices

  • I love how all the engines have american flags

  • @mackeo22

Just thinking that the trucks on my department need some...

  • Good video - except for crap zoom-out at end & corny music at beginning LOL!

  • @hanjobsolo Thanks for the compliment - The music at the beginning was from a song called "The Badge" which is dedicated to all the firefighters that lost their life at 9-11. And the ending zoom -- Well, I got more comments on it than anything else on the clip.

  • WOW!!

    cool!

  • shit has hit the fan

  • LoL doc!! Nice one at the end.... I wish it was still that way.

  • that must of been a bad fire!

  • AWESOME VIDEO!!!! looks like it was a serious call these guys were serious about getting there.

  • I shed a few tears when you zoomed in the last few seconds.. :(

  • why?

  • gas prices..........

  • Great vid, but terrible use of the Q siren from the last ladder truck.

  • yeah he was caning that crap out of it; Good sound though.

  • why cant gass be like that nw

  • i like the end zoom of the gas prices lol nice vid

  • I was thinking it would be awfully irresponsible to falsely report a fire and then set up with a camera at an intersection and wait for the fire trucks to roll thru. Does this ever happen I wonder?

  • Thre are enough weird people in the world that perhaps someone would do such a thing, but why? That would take all the fun out of it, because it would not be spontaneous. It is like a fireman starting a fire so they could go put it out. Well, we do know that there are some of those around, but there are enough fire engines responding to emergencies that it would be stupid to risk going to jail to get a video like that.

  • it looks like there is a fire fighter riding tailbord on the first white truck. or is this jst part of the engine .

  • No firefighters ride the tailboards here.

  • I agree you have the best videos

  • Thank you. Well, I don't know about being the best videos on YouTube, but I do appreciate you saying it.

  • you do have the best videos doc

  • Thank you.

  • $1.36 for a gallon of gas. oh the memories...

  • Zaffdoc you have the best videos on YouTube.

  • Thank you, that is a nice compliment.

  • shit son that musta bin a bad fire for that many fire trucks from that many dif stations

  • ya, the thing in the start said a 1 alarm fire, which isent that bad, but id rather have 2 many units, rather than not enogh if the $hit hit the fan

  • Back in the days of low gas prices.

  • no. there built into the truck itself, to put one in your car, youve have to pretty much built a new engine around the switch. there purposly made so your cant do that

  • those r my heroes!

  • even put the cop to the curb lol

  • the cop was actully an escort. in bigger citys, traffic lights have "rattle lights" or these blue strobes that flash and put full red on the traffic lights. the older engine wouldnt have been able to trigger it because of its age. however, the newer police interceptor has the switch and therefore could, we get escorts for our one engine because we have this problem

  • I don't think you are correct - The PD has no such traffic light control here in Shreveport. I believe that the police car was just responding the the fire.

  • rlly? here they do. oh well

  • Where is here?

  • cambridge springs pa. well erie has them cambridge is just a tiny town, but erie we use them

  • How do they work and are they very expensive? How long does the light stay red?

  • i dont know on expence, put in beofre i was a firefighter. but theres a switch that when you turn on the lights, and rattle light in disstancew (5oo or so yards) goes off. and they stay red till the trucks out of range.

  • That sounds pretty cool. I wonder if they sell those switches on eBay? It would be so neat to have one in your personal car. You could sleep late and still get to work early. lol

  • Are you guy's talking about an Opticom?

  • In my city the police and fire departments have the same thing except it makes all the lights flash green in all directions.

  • Amazing how things have changed since 2002.

  • OMG I WISH GAS WAS STILL THAT CHEAP

  • The ladder at the end is gettin it done boys!! Thats how you drive it!

  • Gotta love how at about 2:00, that one car just keeps on trucking through the intersection in front of them. Love how the morons in America fail to yield to emergency vehicles, yet want to complain all the time how "it took them forever to get here"

  • If todays or better still last years prices was on that board i'm sure one of those trucks would have wrecked!

  • They get 1 Heavy rescue, 3 pumps, 2 trucks and a Batt chief? On a Commercial Structure Fire Assignment? We get the same minus the Heavy Rescue we get a Squad with 2 paramedics. Depends on who the Batt Chief is that day, he might add a Light force and / or a Quint / Engine Company! If it is a worker.

  • 1.36 for gas holy shit

  • awesome video

  • The colors never run! wave it proudly in the air as you go! :)

  • sounds like the battalion chief has some Whelen Talons siren

  • WOW freakin AWESOME vid man!!!

  • Nice E-One diesels and sirens, horns...

  • that must have been a bigass fire

  • Nice fuel Prices... ;) at the End.

  • you won't see the fuel prices like that ever again.

  • damn so many trucks lol

  • i wish we could still ride tailboard, the good old days

  • lol dude almost hit the cop car

  • cool

  • our first alarm for working commercial or multifamily is 4 engines, 1 district chief, 2 rescues (ambulance), 1 heavy rescue and 1 ladder; depending on location in county.

  • does that mean it involves more than 1 fire st.??

  • that was cool. thanks for uploading

    zaffdoc!

  • they must have been late for the labor day parade

  • good fotage dude

  • To add to that point, Fires in commercial buildings can spread very quickly and can leave people trapped

  • charlie bit my finger

  • last truck (14) ran it the best. love the q

  • all that for a 1 alarm

  • I dont know where you live, but here the fire department takes reports of a fire in an apartment complex very serious. Apartment buildings, schools, commercial buildings, hospitals, nursing homes, etc. get 4 engine companies, 2 hook and ladder trucks, 1 heavy rescue, 2 battalion chiefs, and a medic unit (fire dept ambulance)

  • I think, for a city's fire department to be compliant with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), it is the required response for a structure fire.

  • probly best response video ive ever seen

  • LMAO!

you just HAD to take a snapshot of the gas prices..I bet you were thinking "daaamnnn thats expensive!"

    haha

    Love the vid, Doc!

  • wow! How big was this fire? xD A lot of firetrucks!

  • This video is a one alarm response to a working fire in an apartment complex. If you notice you will only see 3 engines and one battalion chief along with the 2 ladder trucks. The first engine and chief arrived on the scene and reported heavy fire conditions with people still occupying surrounding apartments. What does your city send to such an alarm?

  • i say the best sound comes at 1:34 with that wail.

  • Nice vid. BTW: The first truck sounded the best.

  • wow how big was that fire

  • Why are cars not stopping and pulling over. Maybe wherever this was taken, you dont have to but here in Canada, if you hear a siren, you automatically pull over ( if it sounds very close the siren) You gotta move out of the way completely , you gotta stop even if the firetruck or ambulance or police are on the other side of the street going the opposite way but in this video all i see is ppl trying to dodge the trucks...so unsafe sheesh.

  • way cooler than in the UK!

  • hahah i like the ending

  • This has to be one of my favorite videos of yours Doc! Good job, 5/5!

  • how come nobody pulls over?

  • Gee, I thought the cars did get out the way. But maybe you saw something I didn't, in which case they must have been talking on their cell phones.

  • because they r retarted

  • Shit, that looks more like a 2 alarm at least! Also reminds me of how they used to roll up here, full bore!

    Great video man!

  • police pulled over, firechief pulled over, nice to see the ones that count got through... MOVE OUT OF THE WAY....

  • man i got goosebumps when i saw the ladder and heard the Q from the engine. I love doing this job, cant wait to get back to the station. Also, do you have two different FDs resonding to the call? I saw two different color trucks and asumed it was a small town FD with two out of town trucks responding in mutual aid. am i correct?

  • All the rigs belong to the Shreveport Fire Dept. At one time the SFD had all rigs solid white. Now only a few of the white ones are left as reserve units and the new color scheme is now white over red.

  • ah ok thank you.

  • why is nobody pulling over?try that shit in missouri and they will arrest you./

  • in maryland when u get a 1 alarm fire they send 2 laders 1 tanker 4 engens 1 ambo and a shift camnder and a BC

  • lol that's a response to a one alarm fire? Where I live, a one alarm response means an engine and maybe a ladder.

  • This is a great video, I would love to see this. I love the white car in the beginnng that floored it to let the engine pass. Reminds me of a fire that I responded to, All the engines from 2 different towns arrived withing 10 minitues of the initial call, witch was about 6 engines and 2 ladders. Great video.

  • I knew that the ladder was coming long before it showed up. I knew from the last video I watched of these trucks responding to another call. I agree with the comment of letting the engine going instead causing a near miss of 3 emergency vehicles. Good job, and great videos.

  • good to see the chief and police gave way to the engine rather than everyone all over the place

  • That was awesome man. Had to have made your day. It would have made mine for sure

  • nice, haven't seen that many in a long time

  • nice video stay safe

  • Sweet!!! Did the sigh say 1.38$ for gas?

  • What no way I thoguht that was a legend!!! lol

  • i think it did! i know where im moving to haha

  • Gas is 1.56/gallon here.... almost back down there :D

  • How I wish gas prices were that cheap again

    Good video.
