I've listened to this singer before. She is a phenomenal vocal talent. I live in the USA, and I can't think of many singers here that can perform live and be so good. @spirikitik2747 some part the ASIA SONGBIRD is shouting but in a nice strategy to make the song more challenging and amazing, it's still singing if the shouting has melody, rhythmn and tune. shouting is an additional style as a twist to end up the versions as if their originals, and to prove they can sing more technically than plain renditions done by the original singers, isa yan sa reason why revival sumikat ng tudo at mapagkamalan na sariling kanta nila yun actually revival lang.

I don't think her voice is sweet indeed,especially her belts.In fact many singers can sing their songs live.Regine doesn't sing better than the original singers,in fact she just butchers the songs with a noisy belt which shouldn't be in the songs.
But yeah,she raises the difficulty of the songs with a high scream,it's really hard to yell that sharply and high like that.I appreciate her fearlessness,she dares sing Emotions by Mariah in front of many audiences,ends in epic fail tho.

The reason why Regine didn't attempt to become a singer in America, was because they wanted her to lie about her nationality and age for some reason. And she got offended when some other nationalities would tell her that Filipinos are known as maids only and that they wanted her to not tell her real nationality. She said so herself on an interview. Charice was just lucky because it's the right time for her and she didn't go through what Regine had experienced.

I've listened to this singer before. She is a phenomenal vocal talent. I live in the USA, and I can't think of many singers here that can perform live and be so good. I'm sorry to hear she's over 40, as America doesn't usually recognize talent that isn't from the very young. Since getting on youtube, I've seen/heard such wonderful talent from Asian countries. @wornoutshoes11 why would it always be thought of when one Filipino embodying a certain kind of greatness in his/her own field is perceived to be better off outside the country? what you perceived to be the reality, that is all local singers' dream is to make it internationally, is a hasty generalization. your statement leaps a lot of assumptions that demand a critical examination. i categorically deny that that is every Filipino singer's dream. guess what? regine is THE model.

@jakeriel i'l bet my life you never took time out to read the title of this video. anyways, if thats your argument then why most singers in the PI are so into pseudo titles such as asia's songbird and all other self proclaimed titles. dont u think that is a clear sign that they want to be known internationally? u cant change facts. one more fact, they sing/immitate foreign songs and adores foreign artist's. do i need to go further? ... that is the dream.... a performers dream! i rest my case!

But before i make it to light, let us examine your comment. any title BESTOWED upon a person is a social construction. it works in two ways, first across time and people; second on the origin and the direction. She was GIVEN the title when she won grand prize at the APSC. When one carries this, then one acts towards that. You label it imitation; she labels it fulfillment.

@liversell Great argument however at this level of talent I have to say it's preference of voice sounds. I still feel like mariah carey's overall power,pitch,quality control etc are amazing and yet to be stumped. I will say that regine is amazing but she sounds a lot like lisa fischer in her high notes. Either way She is amazing and best is just and opinion unil they fight vocally. Which never will happen

Guys..please..every singer existing nowadays have their own styles and techniques when it comes to exercising and expressing their vocal abilities..so stop comparing them..why not view the positive side of it..the fact that they are well-known, let us just admire them..in fact, we don't have enough idea on what and how they've gone through on their singing career..

@reginethegreat Because regine is so good like mariah, she can just belt (scream) everytime the same horrible note, her runs and riffs like from singer like hannah montana. She cant sing english songs, nobody listens to a twice class musical singer who is famous to sing nasal and rape ballades of mariah carey, whitney houston or celine dion. nobody in europe or the us music market is LOL interessted in a karaokesinger from the phillipones, who COPYS every DIVA in the worlds! I am definately a Regine Velasquez fan. I think she has one of the best voices i've ever heard. HOWEVER, when she sings other people's song...it's EXACTLY the same as when the original singer sings it. Doens't take away from her talent

I like Leah Solonga's vocals. :] It's more soothing to the ears and you can listen to the words. Regine...best vocal in Asia...not the world. Philippines in general have the best singing talents. <3 Even Charice is as well! Love all those Filipina singers.
