  • Great animation! Very smooth!

  • Cool Work .............

  • nice work buddy...

  • WORK FOR PIXAR

    NOW :)

  • how??? how do you do such amazing animation?? i find it hard just doing a jump, or a walk cycle.... is there a process you follow while animating

  • @ILLRICARDO :References... if it's an action I can do I'll record myself doing it over and over, if not I look for references on the net. Then I thumbnails my references finding all my important keyposes, then it's animation time :)

  • Heyy...does anyone know the name of the character from the first clip..the blackie :D

  • Your work is truly admirable and exquisite. I'm sure you'll be a lead animatpr in a HIT movie soon...

Really- try to get job at disney or some place. They'll hire you in a heart beat! :-)

  • maya 3d suckers!!

    --

    low price=1900

  • @royalshower You dont need maya to do this. Animation can be done to this level in any animation program. Hek all u need is wacom and the software called flipbook. :P

  • wow man u rock!!.. btw, do i have to read any animation teaching books? i have animators survival kit.. will it help?

  • @TheGameLoungePD The animation survival kit is great! Lots of animators I know keep going back to it :).

  • beautiful animations and nice antics, good job. im studying 2d/3d animation and modeling. just in my first term

  • whats the program called ? :p

  • @Peony2222 These were done in Maya.

  • lol, in the first animation, that dudes hand fell off :D

  • cool wat progrAM IS THAT???

  • were can i find that program

  • no wonder he cant drag him, hes got no muscle!

  • :0 woah! 3 words! THIS. IS. AMAZING!!!!!

  • i luv al of ur wrkss, inspiring me a lot ^_^

  • Really nice work there.

Take a look at my most recent animation video (Baseball pitch) and tell me what you think. Comments, crits, areas of improvement etc.

  • Hey steph. I really want to be an animator! Do they get a decent pay when you graduate from animation mentor? going to sign up after my A levels but i just want to know is this is a right choice.

  • @andoi9292 It's kinda hard to answer cause someone's pay is infulence by so many factors. However your first animation job is usually the entry level salary of the company regardless what school you went too because you have no work experience. Then it's up to you to prove your worth.

  • ToonSteph. I really enjoyed your work. Your first video especially. It was funny, good show of weight and timing. AM is rad!

  • How much time did you take to complete your reel'???

  • @solidsnake2121 These 3 animations were done over a 3 month period, that's how long each AM session is. :)

  • @ToonSteph Hmm, enough time to get high quality results i presume :)

  • Ms Desforges.. this is beautiful work. :)

  • wow... how long have you been animating?

  • Very nice. Natural motions

  • awesome! love your sense of weight with the ninja ^^

  • nice nice niiiiiiiiiiiice :)

  • Nice! I love the shifting of weight at the end. :)

  • my only critique is that when he lands from the jump, he gets up too quickly, his head should dip a little lower

  • unlike the rest of the reels I've seen on youtube so far, you actually show you have an understanding of the principles of animation

  • is this program free?

  • lol about 6 grand

  • Where did you go to get classes? or are you doing it online?

  • Yes, Animation Mentor is the leading online animation school.

  • Cool!

  • Impressive moves Steph!

Like the timing on the drag scene hehe.

  • so nice!

  • this is really good.

is it rendered with ambiant occlusion?

  • Don't think so, I'm not too good at lighting in Maya so I used the GI Joe plug-in.

  • Great job, Stephanie!

  • very very lovely sense of weight. Nice work!

  • how do you make these animations

  • my dream is to be an animator as good as you Stephanie. But im only 11 and ive been using programs like macromedia flash mx and flash proffesional. im hoping that i could move on from that now and start using sofware like maya and 3d max. so i wanted tp ask u how old do u have to be and i live in the uk so can i still join when im old enough

  • I know you asked her...but I hope you dont mind me answering lol. Im currently an animation major myself. Right now Im in Beginning Animation. There really isnt a specific age you have to be but most college students are in their 20's. I would say for you is to continue school. Work hard. When you get into high school start looking for colleges that have an animation major(if your still interested in that when you get older. I suppose you will lol.). That way youll be off to a great start!

  • ...continued

So then when you graduate you will know where you want to go! Make sure that when you get to high school to talk to your advisor(the person who helps with your class schedule)about colleges too -_^ Just to throw this out there. The Art Institutes out here in the U.S.A have good programs, but I visited another university where an animation professor said that a downside to the Art Institutes is that sometimes a teacher will leave at some point. Also they are REALLY expensive too!

  • thanks alot. btw nice vids! subscribed

  • good looking clips!

  • i wanna learn to do animation like this too but im kida new to it and dont know where to start

  • go to the animation mentor website, its a really good place to start, tho there are many other options. people say the best place to learn animaton from is seridam in canada, but how good you get really depends more on yourself.

  • you have to be a sertain age?

  • at least 18

  • Nice work, did you ever try the free 3d-software blender (dot org)?

  • hahaha,ninja

  • Great work :)

  • Vraiment excellent Stephanie !!

    5 stars !!

    Gianluca ;)

  • WHATS THIS PROGRAM CALLED? I WANNA TRY

  • very nice

  • ???

  • Hey this is great!

  • 3ds max, maya?

  • AM provides rig and support for Maya users, but some people do their assignements on other software like 3dsMax or XSI. My class 1-4 assignements are on Maya and my upcoming short for class 6 will be in XSI.

  • Im planning to start learning and doing animation. Maybe with maya, but I still dont know how and where to take the characters models, skins, or objects. At the final, I dont want a robot, I want a fluid character. Any tutorials exist or anything to learn about this? Like, If I want mario bros. as character, can I download him somewhere? Thx

  • Sorry I can't help you with that, I know just enough about Maya to do my assignements, plus we aren't aloud to share the AM rigs. I suggest doing a search for "Free maya rigs" or "maya tutorials" on google, that's my best guess.

    Good luck ^_^

  • Nice work! I'm actually taking AM and getting ready for MY second quarter. Wish me luck!

  • Good luck!

I'm taking a break next semester so I guess I'll see you in class 4 while I start class 6 in april ^_^

  • woow! Beautiful man!

  • you have one of the best AM reels that i've seen yet

  • Hi Stephanie,

I love your animations! Good luck for class 5, and see you on campus! You will find me in class 2. :)

    Take care

    Peter

  • soooooo sweet
