  • 54 people don't like to drink and fuck.there's a role model somewhere for them,i think it's called justine beaver...

  • You're cheeky, WE GET IT.

  • wtf

  • This is brilliant. If you don't "get it" you probably aren't a real fan of DK anyway.

  • Too Hot To Fuck! (For Me)

  • Bad karaoke of a great song.

    Genuinely appalling

  • I am agree :) Too drunk to sing :-) +1 !

  • A shit covers band but as fit fuck tho :0)

  • holy shit that was amazing :D reminds me of the Finnish girl duo PMMP

  • Is the singer retarted?

  • too hot too hot too hot~~~baby so hot !!!!!!!

  • more power please

  • the actual recording by NV is smooooth, this is awful

  • They are more good looking than Dead Kennedys!

  • this is the reason they say looks aren't enough

  • These Brods oponed up for, The Dead Can Dance, at the Hollywood Bowl. I realy didnt dig them at all. Well I guess they we're time fillers.

  • you should really look into their audio recordings because they are impeccable, regardless of what you may prefer

    they are well produced covers

  • Worse than the their cover is those comments calling dead kennedy's song "new wave" lol

  • que? who called dk new wave??

  • these guys:

    KalB971

    LucTonnerre2000

    marglar

    mikebott

  • u got there names and everything

now hang them from the highest tree

  • i was just answering her question :)

  • i totally forgot about this response but yeah there pretty lame for calling them new wave, just a joke

  • Comment removed

  • jello biafa called themselves new wave then performed 'pull my strings'

  • That he did.

  • He was joking.

  • i know

  • She didn't do the best performance here.. but she can do it DAMN GOOD... don't just trust me... trust quentin tarinteno... he put he cover of the DK's song in his movie!

  • bossa nova?

  • If you guys are judging this band's covers based on what's on youtube, you might want to check out their album. I'll admit these youtube covers suck, but they are definitely much more than concept. Most of their covers are absolutely sick. Most of their chanteuses have really beautiful voices.

  • In other words they only sound good in the recording studio? lol

  • In other words, this live performance is bad, but they've done better. lol

  • this surely sounds fucked up

  • so it's a bunch of scantily clad women doing new wave and punk covers in a bossa nova style ?

what's unfortunate for them is that art needs to deliver on more than just concept.

  • ...embarrassing!

  • I like this group.

  • ...annoying!

  • this is not attractive

  • Trippy version, i saw the DK'S a few times in 1984...classic song

  • she seems to like that dress lol and her voice doesnt sound too good there :S

  • She fuck'd up D:

  • yea its so creative to give an up tempo beat to ALL songs..... great thought process ..... oh and who can forget great talent..... SLUGSSS

  • Even their name 'Nouvelle Vague' isn't original. It's a reference. They are useless. Can't play, can't sing and only do covers. You can see any covers band in any shitty pub anytime.

  • They sure can play ... To me, a poor cover is Teenage Kicks covered by Busted ... They just changed the tempo ... But turn New wave into Bossa Nova is a good idea ... Not the better in the world ... I guess you like or you just don't ... and obviously, you don't ... I do like the originals but I live the covers too because they are different ... I'm sure they can something themselves, just take a look at Camille ... She doesn't need NV to write songs ...

  • I saw em sing this live last night...this footage doesnt do their cover justice...because it was fkn awesome !!

  • Can somebody please show me something original and creative by this bunch of cover version abortionists? That is if they have ever had the initiative to write someting themselves. Useless slut cunts. Disgusting morons.

  • so true. +1

  • The project is totally original ... Kind of hard to turn New Wave into Bossa Nova ... They made a great job with these covers and no one else and thought of it before ... So chill dude ... Even the name of the group is creative ... It's okay that people don't like them covers because they are ORIGINAL and real fans of these songs doesn't like them ... They made a GREAT job on "Making Plans for Nigel" they assume the fact that they are a cover band so ... deal with it ...

  • Wrong on all counts.

  • sometimes cross genre covers "just work". unfortunately, like most of this band's work, it doesn't. that was just awful.

  • she is sooooo hot!!!!!!

  • You weren't "too drunk to fuck" this song up!

  • OMFG somebody needs to kill that "band".

  • I love Joy Division and I love Nouvelle Vague. Their cover of Guns of Brixton is one of my favourite cover versions. They're much better on record than live though, I will concede that. Punk's dead, people: country life butter, anyone? (I sincerely wish that it wasn't).

  • This is shit.

  • pish.

  • dk's is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better

  • Thanks for passing the vid on Majorsnag

  • stop ittttt :P

  • WTF HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA this suck.

  • The single rocks - this version doesn't do it justice.

  • nope....shit....waste of net space.

  • mai bine va futeati acolo..si va si imbatati

  • too drunk to sing? hahahahaha

  • yes! I've found a new pet hate. I can't wait to tell all my friends! Now I'm going to listen to Heart of Glass -- I wonder if that'll be FUCKING AWFUL, too?

  • I get where your coming from. It's like car-crash television, too bad to turn away. I could just let sleeping dogs lie but I'm going to listen to guns of brixton to access the damage.

  • I realize now that I was being unnecessarily lenient before. What I meant to say was this is the worst fucking thing on YouTube - with the possible exception of their version of Love Will Tear Us Apart. These people should be dragged through the streets having rotten fruit thrown at them, or perhaps just torn apart by wild horses - pour encourager les autres.... God hath set aside a special place in hell for Nouvelle Vague.

  • This song is rubbish. Love Will Tear Us Apart was beyond belief but did you hear their version of Ever Fallen In Love (With Someone You Shouldn't've), it's not only tollerable but shows good characteristics of a good cover. I think I prefer when someone fucks a song up their own way then playing the original. "Creativity is making mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep" - Scott Adams (The writer of Dilbert)

  • It's a lot perkier than the others - not too bad, I'll grant you. But Jesus Christ and all the Saints, it'll take a lot more than that to make up for the Joy Division massacre, with the bastard on guitar in the flat cap and the girl's fey hand movements. My advice to Nouvelle Vague remains the same: you want to be Joy Division? Here's the rope - now get to work.

  • You said: "God hath set aside a special place in hell for Nouvelle Vague."

Surely, wishing suicide upon somebody isn't exactly Christian.

  • It's their choice, not mine. I'm only appealing to their consciences. If I'D massacred one of the greatest songs of all time, I think I'd do the decent thing.

  • What? Being disagreed with has nothing to do with conscience. Suicide isn't a decent thing, also.

  • I'm not sure my words have ever been subject to such scrutiny, so clearly I should choose them carefully. Nouvelle Vague have ruined a wonderful song (in fact more than one). They've also showed a lot of disrespect to one of the great prophets of the late 20th century, and effectively made light of his music. This upsets me.

  • By the logic you're displaying, one would say democracy ruined/murdered a 'wonderful' system. One can't dictate what a good song is; it's opinionated. Disrespect to a song would be parodying it rather than covering it with some people disagreeing.

  • Blimey, the line between parody and homage seems to be pretty fine. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to have against democracy - ruined which system? The feudal one? For what it's worth, I see Nouvelle Vague as merely a symptom of a broader malaise in our society - a reliance on knowingness over passion, style over content. Logic doesn't enter into it.

  • We're all digressing now, but I think logic enters everything. The line between parody and homage is thicker than the one between opinion and quality, that's all I mean to say (that's an offer of détente).

  • Offer of détente gladly accepted, not least because I actually have to do some work. Almost certainly I've been wrong about everything anyway, and I'm as guilty as anyone else of wanting to regress to my youthful past. Anyway, see you in the pub in half an hour.

  • i'm intrigued now cos i feel a real need to listen to love will tear us apart even though i know i will be fuckin' destroyed when i do.

I have just scrolled down n' seen the buzzcocks n' echo n' the bunnymen....lmao

  • Let us know how you get on. Yes, they're retreading all the indie classics for those who have since 'grown up' and need some background music for their dinner parties.

  • lol! i agree...

  • The studio version is 1,000,000 times better, guys. Go get the album. This one is just a joke, probably a closer to end a fun night.

  • Thats not punk, but its a punk song. cant be worse...

  • Why? For creating a juxtaposition?

  • i dont know what juxtaposition means, but i just cant understand how they can play a punk song like that. if you like it, do it, but i just dont.

  • This is a joke..right??

  • This is horrible.

  • shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is kinda messed up since you can hear people laughing in the crowd and this really should have stayed punk.

  • Acidflush,

I agree with you about liking the original but I disagree with the rest. These bitches should be beaten for what they have done. They took a perfectly good song and wiped their ass with it. Also, the queer screaming out the words with them should be beaten for condoning this. Horse shit is what this is.

  • Try to understand that there is a difference between real life and the sub Tarantino fantasy world that you appear to live in. Women should not be casually referred to as bitches and homophobia is only ever ugly. Try to reply without using the words faggot or queer.

  • I agree with kevin

  • to each their own. fwiw, i think the live version in this vid sucks too. i was referring to the version on the album, which is far more loungey and mellow. based on your comments, i doubt that you'll like it anyways.

  • when i was young, i liked the original. now that i'm all grown up, i like the ultra-loungey version on nouvelle vague's album.

just because a cover doesn't capture the spirit of the original doesn't make it a bad thing. johnny cash's cover of 'hurt' by the nine inch nails is an example. so is red hot chili peppers' cover of stevie wonder's 'higher ground.'

  • I just cant belive for what you said about"Higher ground"

  • please elaborate.

i was suggesting that both versions of higher ground are fine by me, while being different.

  • Its o.k. I just didnt know that Stewie Wonder sing original Higher ground.Thats all.I agree with you. Thats I wanted to say. Nothing else. I salute you.

  • Covert punk! haha

  • fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck, yes, yes , yes .....vomir

  • Now this is what punk is (was) about Really inappropriate cover versions

    Spot on Love it

  • Be fair, this video does not do them justice

  • Why? Oh, lord.. WHY??

These sad excuses of blood and organs are my new pet hate objects. Wait.. I don't hate them.. I hate all of you that buy their crap and pay to see them so they continue to pump out their abominations..

  • sweet jesus, isn't anything sacred!

  • they suck me to the deepest pits of hell...

  • Ummm... is this the same group that sung "in a manner of speaking"??????

  • Yeah, they are the same^^

  • who are you???

    Bitch get off the stage

  • stupid motherfuckers

  • too drunk to sing!

  • OK, this isn't great...

  • is it just me or are they the hottest singers ever?

  • just you

  • Debby Harris was the hottest singer ever

  • Crap. I meant Debby Harry

Remember kids, don't drink and type

  • not hot but fat

    and their outfits didn't help

  • fat?

  • Is this the version that played on the radio in Planet Terror?

  • Yep and its on the Planet Terror soundtrack

  • And I thought they were such a sweet, soft band! Now like them even more!

  • Nice.

It's pointless to compare a punk-surf song to a lounge song. Probably the veteran punks do not please this version, but that's what cover songs are all about: work a song in different genres.

  • Wish they'd give me head...and they can keep their retainers in too!

  • Well. I don't like the live postings, but being there Is different. Plus, they really are too drunk..to sing. Notoriously pissed on stage.

The recorded one is good. But the two versions aren't going head to head.

It's like comparing barbers adagio for strings with William orbits. The classical lovers with think it's totally spoiled, and the dance people think the other too slow.

    All just dogs barking.

    Woof.

  • This is the funniest thing I have seen in a very long time.

Richard Cheese is very good, but these guys are so good at being awful that it's great in it's own way.

  • punk rockers save god!!!!

God save the "little pussys" who are grown up with punk and industrial and dark-wave and know every single song and band covered by Nouvelle Vague!

  • I hate this stupid band/idea what ever it is. A bourgeoise novelty act...makes me cry that people think it's wonderful.

  • they're a bit shit aren't they!

  • this is not their own song on their album, you are silly for bringing in social class into this. What has that got to do with anything?

  • Bourgeois doesn't necessarily refer to the social class. The fact that it's a cover makes it even worse in my opinion

  • don't be such a snob, you can actually like two versions or three versions, music shouldn't be restrictive but it should be explored and experimented, that is what music is.

  • SHIT?!?!?!?!? you can´t understand what's the intention of the real music, can u??

  • real? eh. It's all covers!?

  • dead kennedys version is alot better

  • TO DRUNK TO FUCK TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO nOuvelle vague!!!!

  • that pink curtain thing she is wearing is really sexy

  • Went too a party,i danced all night,

    I had 16 beer's and started up a FIGHT!

  • why doesn't a single person get the concept of NV after all?

they're playing NEW WAVE hits in a BOSSA NOVA (translated: NEW WAVE) and are called NOUVELLE VAGE (translated: NEW WAVE!!!!)

    got the idea?

the albums are pure genius. all you hardcore dead kennedys/joy division/whatever fans: get a life...

i bet that jello likes this version.

  • + BOSSA NOVA translates as NEW WAVE as well!

  • I actually wrote that ;)

  • hm true.. im tired

  • oh yeah oô u are sooooo clever <_< ...omg

  • Well said. What would those people see as a good cover, an exact copy?!

  • que es lo que trata de hacer?

    liberacion? justificacion?

    o lo mas mundano?

imitar (tributar) a los Dead Kennedys?

no lo se (puta madre, pero que buenas estan)

  • I don't know what to say...

  • This looks like one of those bad bands you find at a city festival, playing bad cover versions for crowd appeal. How many NV fans have even heard of DK?

If they're doing this thinking that they'll get me to buy their cover albums, forget it. It's pop crap--something Jello was completely against--and it should never be placed alongside any DK album.

If NV was a DK fan, or JD fan or anything along those lines, they wouldn't be NV. They'd be a real band playing real music. Not shitty covers!

  • you're retarded...

  • i heard DK 25 years before I knew of NV.

NV is ok. DK just made noise, NV makes music.

  • no it's not ... it's just a version... and it's at leat funny when it a girl (or 2) singing it...

  • this is blasphemy

  • It sucks because Camille isn't singing it. The Dead Kennedys version is waay better though

  • ew.bad song .

  • This suck. And th fact that Im drunk has nothing to do with it. Actually it makes my senses stronger.

  • You, sir, are a dumbfuck.

  • big up yourself

  • Translation please.

  • Thanks

  • Actually, the recorded version is excellent... this is just a crappy live recording but it's a great version usually

  • valientes gilipollas...

    what an assholes pack..

  • God, just like rock and roll show... the original version is much much better,,, this sounds crazy lady singing that..

  • lkhklj

  • French girl are never TOO DRUNK TO FUCK. It's only Jello

  • well played, JohnnyCreepy.

  • Do you know if there is a vid of Nouvelle Vague for the "Modern English's" version of "I Melt With You"?I'ts pretty cool although, nothing compares tp Modrern English's origional.

  • This is the most Amazing cover of a Dead Kennedy's ever

  • i would disagree but i haven't heard how horrible the others are. they must be pretty bad if this is the best. its just really wierd and alot more boring than the original.

  • I should have said the Most Stunning. It sucks compared to the original, and compared to anything for that matter. I just can't believe a Bossa Nova band is doing it.

  • okay i understand now.

  • i love this! lollolol

  • did she say "fuck me for a while"?

  • nouvelle vague is great :)

  • wwootttt wwooooooot! \m/

  • nice song haha :)

  • THIS IS A dEAD kENNEDYS SONG CALL "TO DRUNK TO FUCK"
