  • Thanks a lot for uploading this, I always wondered what he talked like and his mannerisms.

  • the aviator is surprisingly accurate

  • @BLICKSTEINHUGHES thats depressing

  • Our parents had Howard Hughes and we have Donald Trump.

  • We no longer have men this cool in America anymore. So sad.

  • After reading the 600+ page biography of his life I have a better understanding of Hughes. He really didn't get much done. He did manage to spend most of his father's money plus a lot of taxpayer money during his life. An amazing and very sad story to read.

  • Dear 4jeremylynchem, I strongly thank you for uploading this invaluable document. The fact that you bought this and uploaded it is really honorable. Thank you very much for sharing history.

  • that's a real patriot, and aviator: putting your own money into your country's war effort

  • Hughes the master manipulator. The Senate sub committee absolutely underestimated him, then got eaten alive, and spat out, by a completely unintimidated Hughes.

  • How can ANY of you idiots have anything to say other than "THANK YOU" to the individual who uploaded this?

  • @DEATH2THEINTERNET oh, and I'm not a cigarette

  • @DEATH2THEINTERNET dude, you're a fucking moron. this man was a genius, he had a disease called obsessive compulsive disorder. the man wasn't crazy. and I'm 24 years old and have more respect for this man than I do you. and I ain't got no videos. so piss off

  • @DEATH2THEINTERNET and fuck you. you don't know great men when you see them

  • Thank you so very much for posting this about the Amazing Howard Hughes.

  • Imagine Bill Gates,Richard Branson,James Cameron, George Clooney and Michael Jackson in same person. This is Howard Hughes.

  • @lombard605 you forgot to add Steve McQueen, Ron Howard, Mickey Thompson, Chuck Yeager, John Glen and Mickey Mantle.

  • Leonardo DiCaprio deserved the Oscar for this.

  • "No, I don't think I'll try." LOL

  • A true inspiration of a man.

  • If its a failure i will leave this country and never come back and i mean IT...

  • @4jeremylynchem can you please put subtitles? I would appreciate that. :)

  • Great job in collecting these.

  • FUCKING POLITICS ALWAYS TRYING TO FUCK EVERYTHING

  • we need other bill gates and other Howard

  • Can u imagine?? I'd shit my pants.

  • My mom calls me Howard Hughes because I'm neurotic, I wash out my cups before I use them because I don't want to ingest the soap from the dishwasher

  • @Stillwater900 I do that too... am I neurotic?

  • @therealCamoron No. Theres nothing wrong with not wanting to ingest soap. BTW, antibacterial hand soap contains Triclosan, which destroys nerve cells in the body. By avoiding those germs, you're actually doing yourself harm. You need to be exposed to pathogens to develop immunity to them, ti build up your immune system. I remember reading about a study they did, which found that germophobes had very very poor immune systems

  • @Stillwater900 lol same

  • @Stillwater900 ~ that isn't neurotic. you're perfectly fine, you mom sounds like she's being defensive because what you're saying is the dish washer doesn't rinse good enough.

  • @tomitstube It doesn't offend me when she calls me Howard Hughes, I've always been happy being quirky and I admire others who are too.

  • i wish i was there, jeez this is so freakin awesome

  • please can someone write what he said because i didnt heard please that would be great!!

  • great man...need more like him.

  • People ask why America is so great today. The answer is that this country has been led by the men like Howard Hughes, Abraham Lincoln, who thought independently and put their ideas into deeds. Thier personal lives are not going to be remembered forever, but their deeds will be.

  • @MegaWYU Actually besides FDR Lincoln was the worst president the US has had. He suspended Habeas Corpus and has his generals commit numerous war crimes killing unarmed civilians. Lincoln doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Hughes.

  • @Huboons really?

  • @Huboons and not only that he freed the beast (nigger)

  • This guy was too much intelligent that's why he became crazy !!

  • The legend himself.....H.W. ...

  • For all them Fallout New Vegas fans out there, here's your real Mr House.

  • Its about time someone tells it to the government how it is! I wish i could just have 5 minutes to tell them my mind and put them in their place!

  • every time i see that beer commercial ' the world's most interesting man' i think of Howard Hughes. for all the good and bad he truly was and is the world's most interesting man..

  • "ahhh no i dont think i will"... lol

  • It's astonishing to hear praise given to Hughes, such as calling his a "genius". I have no respect for the rat bastard. He inherited the Hughes fortune from his father, for whom work was a virtue.. Howard spent his life playing golf, making terrible movies(with the exception perhaps of Hells Angels) exploiting young women in Los Angeles, playing with airplanes, and losing vast amounts of money at various ventures. He was corrupt and lawless, and had no sense ot ethics.

  • The sound volume is so low on this that I can't make out a word.

  • @workingstiff19

i'm german and i'm gettin it all

  • My sound is bad, but thank you so very much for the post, watching Aviator and comparing the two. Close.

  • @1PartAngel I am doing the same thing right now. I actually came on youtube to see the actual senate hearing.

  • This video is really great but i wish you would upload a better quality version.

  • I loved it when Hughes walked out on them. He all but gave em the finger. Not many with his balls these days. These days many in his position blubber and apologize for mistakes made and promise to be good if forgiven. He was a giant in his day.

Thanks for the clip ... well done.

  • I find this man so very inspirational, maybe it is because I have studied up and find myself to be so much like him (Looks included)

I am more than sure he had aspergers syndrome, although I don't think it was discovered back then, so its a large possibility, especially when I saw an interview with his first wife saying he was still very much a child, that was the biggest telltale sign.

  • Agreed, I just wish people didn't tape things off a TV in 2011. WTF?? The other parts get worse, especially the audio. [rollseyes]

  • @VennerMacht

Yeah ... the sound was a problem but you gotta remember. In those days that's exactly how it was done. As you say, filming things off TV. And it was called Kinescope.

  • i only know howard hughes from the docs and movies ive seen, but i'm sure that he is a genius.how many ppl can go so far, do so much? the title 'genius' is awarded to anyone that are the best at what they do. that includes einstein, mohammed ali, elvis, dali etc. genius isn't only for the intelligent. its the genius in whatever they do.

  • Howard Hughes should be remembered as an adventurer, an innovator, someone who had a great vision for the future and has left a great legacy. It's a genius.

  • Howard Hughes should be remembered as an adventurer, an innovator, someone who had a great vision for the future and has left a great legacy. It's a genius.

  • HOWARD HUGHES YOU ARE MY IDOL!

  • The recent biography by Darwin Porter is 800 pages that detail Hughes' lifelong bisexual nature. His pursuit of Hollywood's most handsome men has finally been revealed. His interest in women is also detailed in all it's intensity. Remember that he lived in the age where being gay was illegal. Porter's book documents many people that personally knew Hughes and were aware his romantic interest in handsome men.

  • @DouglasUrantia

Oh come on. What is it with that? It just seems that books keep coming out on dead ppl who the authors have decided is homosexual. Pursuit of men? Rubbish. But I do understand that many who are that way welcome with open arms (in a manner of speaking only) anyone tagged that way as a way of saying to the world, See? It's perfectly normal and everyone is that way. Wrong again.

No offense intended but it is way over the top.

    I'm normal.

  • @jayd760 ...Facts and truths are sometimes very difficult to accept. If you read the book you will find out that Howard is rarely quoted. All of the information is what 'other' people have said about HH,... it's not the author's opinion at all.

  • @DouglasUrantia

Hi ... No offense Doug. I guess I was ranting about the author. It's just that so often when a major figure passes, bingo. Out comes the, oh, he was gay you know. Or bi. I do agree that facts where absolutely proven, are still hard to accept and especially in someone we might admire. Anyway, I really can't see any side of Hughes that would fit that photo. Not that I've read every single thing ever printed.

  • @jayd760 ...I agree, there seemed to be nothing 'gay' about HH, but that was the way he wanted it. I really admired HH and still do. His private life does not diminish his accomplishments. Also, besides Porter's book, there are two other books that say the same things about HH's bi-sexual life. Remember HH lived in the era when such behavior was illegal. Now I see another reason why he desired privacy. Thanks for your reply, Jay.

  • @jayd760

i read were all those gay rumors were complete bs???

  • 1. It's a chris brown parody moron

    2. What has THIS got to do with white people being bullied by non-whites?

    Ignorant poc

  • What documentary was this from? Very good fim.

  • White people of today should take note of what a real man is suppose to be like as opposed to today's White male who has allowed himself to be bullied by non-Whites into being a helpless sheep. If your tired like I am of Whites being on a never ending downward spiral then come join the Nationalist movement. The National Alliance, EURO (David Duke) and the Council of Conservative Citizens all have web sites and are welcoming new applications from Whites who want to help their race.

  • @MrBEB123 Dude.. Ur retarded i hope you know that a few years earlier white people (nazi's) were killing other people (In general: (Europeans, American's, African's, .. )) Just for power .. By the way, i don't think every "non-whites" bullies "whites" nor all "whites" bullies "non-whites" really.. We are all humans, people with ur state of mind should be hung.

  • @MetizBabyXxl Dude you are retarded. Read your own rambling post, it's ridiculous to say the least. There is really no answering your post because it is just plain stupid. I'm blocking your stupid ass.

  • @MetizBabyXxl And by the way I just got though looking at your channel with that absurdly stupid Negro Chris Brown video which would explain a lot about why you write so stupidly. Listen to Howard Hughes here, maybe you'll learn something.

  • Thanks for sharing. Howard Hughes was/is a fascinating man!

  • "Im not a paranoid deranged millionaire, goddamit Im a billionaire"

    -HH

  • Wow Scorcese did an unbelievable job recreating this.

  • it's exactly the same as in the movie :D

  • @Wouterr747 yeah it is, word for word

  • @Wouterr747 Except it was real.

  • What you don't see is Howard taking a leak in a milk bottle while he's giving his lecture.

  • What a brilliant dude! "I don't think I will"... I don't think I'll try"... I love it! It's so sad he did not have a spiritual thread to guide him. The world needs more of Howard Hughes.

  • @katiecoole101 Spiritual Threads do not exist you mentally ill person.

  • @RainStyle967

Don't be such a secular elitist. I'm an Atheist myself, but I hardly think someone having "spiritual beliefs" or religious inclinations can qualify as a mental illness.

A delusion, yes. But delusions are a natural part of human existence, and you and I and some of the most brilliant people who have ever existed (especially Howard Hughes) have some delusions, whether we like acknowledge them or not.

(And if you don't think you have any, you're delusional.)

  • awesome!! im watching the aviator with di'caprio and the history of this men its great!

  • I want to be Howard Hughes,at least THE BEST of Howard Hughes, the man was a director, aviator, and all around true professional!Thank you for posting this and please try to keep the video up,please!

  • Et voici le document qui le prouve...Cet homme , je le trouve absolument formidable...seul contre tous...Le courage et l'honnêteté d'un seul homme...La vérité jusqu'au bout ...

  • This reminds me of the court scene with Tony Stark, in Iron Man 2. Absolutely love it. Damn Congress.

  • To meditate...

  • So help a newbie out here.. he is on trial for what exactly? For making money on war contracts?

  • @gluebubble That's correct. Pan Am was behind it as they knew he was planning on expanding his TWA to europe. You should watch the Scorsese flick The Aviator. It's here on You Tube.

    A good movie.

  • He's the man!

  • anyone else picturing dicaprio saying all of this again? haha

  • @mattgrant1 haha YES. I'm sure Dicaprio studied these clips and learned much of his mannerisms and whatnot.

  • Long live the Tea Party!

  • howard hughes was such a badass

"uh no, i dont think ill try" haha

  • Leonardo Dicaprio's voice was far too high pitch.

  • @Radz117 Yeah it was pretty high but he still delivered the lines pretty good.

  • Well done Leo !

  • Come in with the milk. Come in with the milk. Come in with the milk.

  • wow this is so awesome, just watched the aviator.

  • @moonsmilelucide haha same

  • One of American history's most fascinating men. If medical science at the time understood the truth about brain trauma and OCD, there's no telling what further marvels he could have wrought. Truly a unique character.

  • Howard, U're my hero~~~~

  • Thankyou for sharing your video of howard huges.. I didnt even know anything about howard huges untill i watched the movie aviator.. Then i was curious to find out who is was LOL... So thanks again...

  • Thank U all for the comments...

  • He's like the real Tony Stark. =]

  • @Arbiter11723 kinda funny you say that since Tony Stark's personality in Iron Man is supposed to be loosely based off of Howard Hughes'

  • Genius always appears a little odd. What a man he was, we need more like him. The man would hurl himself threw the sky in untested aircraft. And every once an awhile when I flip through the approx 6 million satelite channels I have, I think about Howard Hughes. He pioneered the concept among other things. What an amazing man, I wish we had more like him. Oh and he was hot!!

  • That man may have been a little nuts but, he was one helluva pioneer

  • they were all very jealous of Howard back then. all those poor senators. they wish they had his money.

  • @Rico8458 not the money, his creativity.

  • we all stand as one employ you question me therefore my people that sever under me

  • Howard Hughes....an great inspirational figure.

  • Impressive man.

  • Pity our political leaders could not take a leaf from Howards' book, Howard was and continues to be an inspiration and an example to us all, he stood up to the hypocritical and corrupt government officials annd vested interests, won the hearts and minds of so many people the world over. Thanks for posting.

  • Good Job, I'm a big Hughes fan and had fallen into a bad space with him, until I read some Robert Anton Wilson material wherein Hughes had been destroyed in court By David Rockefeller over TWA Airlines. Hughes didn't want to sale, and David destroyed him by paying off the Courts to rule in his favor. Hughes verses Rockefeller, the Cowboy Yankee War. I Wrote Sen. Jay Rockefeller about this too!!

  • This is probably my favourite piece! I love how he calmly stood up to the badgering from the agitated senator. Masterfully letting them know he will have no part of their witch hunt. Sadly, he is remembered more for his mental illness than his courage, vision and creativity.

    God rest him...

    T.

  • The man was an American lion who was far ahead of his time.... Most of his inventions and ideas were far ahead of their times. I believe he was one of the most intelligent men our country ever produced. He is certainly my hero. He lived a life most of us just wished we had. He dated the most beautiful hollywood stars in his days, and flew around the world solo, a very big deal in those days. What a brave man.

  • @heykal123 oh myyyyyyy get a room with him then.

  • Tell that committee of corrupt bureaucrats to shove it! Tell 'em Howard!

  • Very interesting guy. Obviously, he was very ill, mentally and physically. I know he had an extreme case of OCD and was addicted to codeine but in addition, there seems to be something that goes wrong in the minds of people that isolate themselves from "normal" society. They appear to lose their sense of what's healthy/acceptable/reasonable. Other examples include Michael Jackson, Elvis, Phil Spector, Marlon Brando, etc., etc.

  • di caprio did quite a good job acting as goward hughes in the aviator

  • Howard Hughes was a TRUE American Patriot. I salute him and his legacy.

  • prob would of been better if you didn't record it off your tv... been better to just steam it strait to your computer

  • "No, I don't think I'll try."

Hell yeah, you tell em Howard

  • One visionary man with Ballz!

  • You tell em' Howard!

  • Wow! I'd been looking for the senate hearing footage for yrs but had always came up blank,so i'm delighted to see that someone has found it and cared to share it.HH was the last of a dying breed, imo.

  • this man was trully the aviator and a pionner!! we know now what we know thanks to him

  • Thank you so much for posting these amazing videos. Like the user below, I can't believe mine is only the third comment regarding these videos. If you think THE AVIATOR was gripping, watch the real man defy a Senate panel, because he believed, or knew, he was in the right . He challenged Pan Am's monopoly on international air travel, resulting in lower costs to passengers. Thank you again for uploading them...

  • Amazing footage. I wish I could see the entire testimony.

  • @apexig Oh yes, how interesting it could be, a real scandal he did live !...How terrible...How courageous was this hero, face to jealousy and bad faith...absolutely scandalous...

  • @apexig

Get the DVD "Howard Hughes: The Real Aviator", the special features of the dvd has extended footage of the testimony.

  • I can't believe I am the first person to comment on this treasure trove of real video footage of Howard Hughes! After watching "The Aviator", I wanted to see his actual testimony to Senator Brewster. This is the most footage from those hearings that I have found online. My only problem: this video's audio is much too low, I crank my speakers and can still just barely hear it. Care to try to re-post again? This footage is priceless!!
