  • Thank you... for posting this. My grandfather and I were members of the Keystone Capital Chorus in Harrisburg Pennsylvania... he passed away two years ago, but this was one of the last songs our chorus did before I had to leave to go off to college... he always loved this song...

  • Bellísimo ,Sublime ! thanks

  • Its funny how people in choruses tend to follow the movements of the conductor with their heads and make silly faces.

  • Is that Steve Buscemi at 1:00? ; )

What a polished group! They define the craft!

  • Thank you Sylvester Stallone for directing!

  • singing faces are hilarious

  • The professionalism of barbershop harmony singing has done two things: it has brought an incredible level of perfection to "amateur" singing and it has completely negated O.C.Cash's idea of four guys getting together and busting a chord or two. After all, bigger is better, right?

  • Wow

  • beautiful...and with such feeling! it makes it so much more enjoyable when the singers get into it ^_^

  • Wonderful chorus! Talented director! Jeff's talent is exceeded only by his arrogance.

  • God, I am in a all treble choir, and I have the biggest range from a low D# to a high C (3 Octaves) and I so wish we had lower voices it would so amazing! This makes me happy! Amazing.

  • If you have told one lie, that makes you a liar. If you have stolen one thing, that makes you a thief. JESUS said; if you look at a person with lust, you commit adultery in your heart! Ever used GOD's name in vain; then you are a blasphemer and can't enter GOD's kingdom! Rev. 21v8 says; "All liars will have their part in the lake of fire!" The bible says; No thief or adulterer will inherit GOD's kingdom! You broke GOD's laws; but JESUS paid your fine! Repent, and trust the Savior!

  • WOW! This is amazing; these guys sound like queen toward the end...

  • wow..........fantastic...

  • fabulous

  • They sound amazing! (And I didn't know Al Gore could sing!)

  • fantastic acappella..i love it..

  • i like the guy @ 0:33

  • Made me cry OMG!

  • THIS IS MUSIC THIS IS THE REASON I HAVE A ACCOUNT LOVE THIS SO BEAUTIFUL JUST MADE MY DAY BRIGHTER

  • Every man should feel proud watching this. Such talent! Well done guys!

  • This is just outright amazing! My friends and I have decided when we're older this is what we're going to be doing.

  • @corook You're 21...start now! Join a chorus, hone your skills, form a quartet and have fun...you won't regret it!! I was your age when I began and I never looked back. Good luck!

  • @Poopaloo55 Well I'm actually only 16. However I've been in choir since fifth grade. This year will be my third year in the show choir at my high school. I've talked to some people about starting a quartet and maybe this year something might be possible. It really is great though.

  • Someone gave this a thumbs down?? I'd love to meet him!! What kind of human being would do such a thing. He (or she) must have been an alien from another planet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @getdusty1 Are you always such a faggot? Someone just didn't like it, so what? Maybe it was due to the poor video quality, not the content.

  • Oh, now we know who it was. Have a very nice day, my good friend!!

  • @getdusty1 I am not your friend. I couldn't consider such a whiny bitch my friend.

  • Well, you're the loser. Tell you what, my friend (you see, I AM your friend whether you like it or not), Tnoight, I'll say a prayer for you, because Luke 6:28 says, "...bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you". Have a great day!!!

  • @getdusty1 Hahaha, you're actually a stupid person, aren't you. At the very least I am glad to have met you, so I can avoid you in the future. Don't claim you're going to pray for me, we both know you won't do such a thing. But in the case you will find the time in your pointless christian life to actually pray for me, what will you pray for? I am curious.

  • ...a Christ-like spirit.

  • So I'm going to show myself to all the assembled masses just how serious my troglodytic tendancies extend to certain musical genre. Now this song strikes me as a show tune of one forn or another.

Which show? Serious question (not that this makes any difference. :D )

  • @rogerdotlee Jekyll and Hyde

  • Is it sad that I spent the entire time watching this video and wondering why there were 3 guys in black suits, while everyone else was in white?

  • @Waterflame they could not afford the blue one :)

  • @Waterflame its because they are from nightlife..im guessing this is either the year they one or the year after they one...

  • wow, i just heard an old friend from elementary school does this. awesome....i come from a musical and dance background... i dont think people realize how very difficult this is. think of it. all of these singers, harmonizing. i am amazed. awesome awesome.

  • I feel like if I missed a key change or sang flat in this group, Oxley would roundhouse kick me in the face with a low C#

  • Comment removed

  • i find it funny that they are singing a song that is from Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, a muscial...about a guy drinking a potion and killing people who he hates...

  • Every single hair on my body is standing on end there is so much power in these voices its absolutely amazing. its sad to me that more people my age cant appreciate what real music is as was meant to be.

  • does this seem too fast? i think they could have taken more time on a lot of these phrases, and yet not fast enough on certain parts of phrases....maybe just too "samey" the whole way through, not enough emotional interp i think

  • solo is the base from the band Acoustix

  • @nailgun27 the band? lol

  • Jeff Oxley used to be their director!? OMG!! He'll be directing the Vocal Majority when, for the FIRST TIME IN HISTORY, they face the Masters of Harmony in Kansas City in early July of 2011!

For over 30 years, the VM hadn't lost. The Masters NEVER lost after winning their first Gold, but haven't been doing it for as long. And since Gold-winning Choruses had to sit out the following two years and couldn't compete again until the third year, they never faced each other.

    Until 2011.

  • Awesome video!! Brought tears to my eyes remembering my dad singing in The Big Apple Chorus at Carnegie Hall...HIS biggest moment! And I was there!!!

  • This is Excellent!!!

  • Fun fact: This song is from Jeykll and Hyde, the musical. : )

  • That conductor is G

  • This is the most powerful choir I've ever seen.

  • awesome!

could somebody tell me where i can get the notes?

  • The OX is a beast. The is the best possible song to sing after winning an International Championship.

  • Wow.

    Just wow.

Anyone got any idea where I can get this arrangement? I'd love to do it with my group.

  • OMG ....

  • it simply doesnt get any better than this...

  • Wow the overtones! Especially the last chord and at like 3:40 to end of song... its amazing!

  • haha. The OX is soooo animated. its kinda distracting.

  • I think it's cool.

  • Is that Alan Gordon coming out to direct during Jeff's solo?

  • @largefella Yep... my debut! Only 16 measures, but whatever it takes! =)

  • Oh, and all the members of Metropolis and Gotcha! are in the front row. You just have to look harder for James, Mike & Garry because they look a bit older now and Scott looks pretty much the same. Can't miss that fivehea... er, forehead...

  • MOH represents the only "legacy" chorus to ever win consecutive International Chorus Championships after their first Gold. Also the only one to manage to continue to achieve championship level after a change in directorship.

  • @BGPhilbin, `MOH represents the only "legacy" chorus to ever win consecutive International Chorus Championships after their first Gold.'

How do you define `"legacy" chorus'? Why doesn't the VM qualify?

The Masters didn't win their first time to compete, but once they did win their first Gold, they remained undefeated. The VM one won, then lost three years later, then came back to an unprecedented 11-medals-long winning streak of over three decades. Is that what you meant?

  • @COMALiteJ - Absolutely, The Vocal Majority qualifies as a Legacy Chorus, so does Louisville Thoroughbreds, Ambassadors of Harmony and Alexandria Harmonizers.

Each of these choruses won silver on either their second or third attempt at the Gold.

Masters has an unbroken record from their first Gold to their most recent.

  • @BGPhilbin, thanks for the clarification of your meaning.

  • jeff oxley as director.. beasty =]

  • and the lead and bari from gotcha! don't know if the others are in there somewhere i could only pick out a few.

  • All members of Metropolis and Gotcha! were active in the chorus. Nightlife also had at least three members and Revival had one or two. Can't remember is Sasine or Royce sang this year. Everyone thinks of Masters and the chorus' accomplishments but what gets un-noticed is the list of quality quartets produced from the MoH. This includes OC Times and now Masterpiece plus countless District Champions like High Fidelity.

  • @timmylead i recognise the guy on the right side of front row with the epic goatee, any idea?

  • @timmylead Alan Gordon, bari of Gotcha directs when Jeff does his solo. Chris, the lead from Gotcha is in the front row next to Brian Philbin (Metropolis bass) about 2 places off the middle on stage right.

  • i can see the lead and bass from metropolis in there! lots of my idols in this chorus that year.

  • Lol at Shawn Hair !!!

  • i love this song.

my choir is doing it this year as our ballad.

  • Wow. Check out Shawn York with the stylin' blonde hair and all!

  • haha he looked older then than he does now.
