  • Look, I agree that immediately was an exaggeration, but if you look at July te job losses clearly slowed down. And what was the alternative going to be? I can think of 3 things:

    1) Do nothing, because you are a sad person. You're economy tanks. You move to sweden.

    2) More tax cuts for the rich! Because you love rubbing salt in your wounds. Solution: move to Sweden.

    3) Move to Sweden before anything can happen because you're scared some wingnut will f*** it up.

  • 1) how would the tea parties be assembled if not for free speech?

    2) the department of justice's report on angry southern violence was dead on

    3) We dont hate white males, but we try to make it fair for the minorities.

    4) question authority, dont fight it on instict until youve checked it out.

    5) War is never the first response, but can sometimes be necessary.

    6) move on if it is one or two things. bush had over 20 scandals or mess-ups. it's comparing a mountain to a speed bump.

  • The GOP has become a party of uninformed idiots. Their critical thinking skills vanished as soon as they started catering to the Christian Coalition. Now the Jesus crowd is running the party and they know only what their Bible tells them. They have the mindset of the ignorant 1st. century desert dwellers who wrote "the word" of their god. These were people for whom a YoYo would have appeared as an inexplicable instrument of magic and their scribbling is now the "guiding light" of the GOP.

  • The rest of the industralized world is laughing at us... We have become the biggest joke in the world because of these conservatives and people comparing the Presidant to the Natzis.. WTF! So what are you fighting for? Yours saying that its the Presidants job to help employ all americans in less the six months and not give every one good health care!? I did not here the right wing screaming when Bush was growing the government.

  • You are just fucking stupid, BUSH WAS PORTRAYED MORE AS HITLER THAN OBAMA HAS BEEN. But hey you are a biased, uninformed fuckwad who just thinks he can throw any peice of info out there and it is automatically right. Look up "Bush as Hitler" in google images.

  • No need for the name calling! People of other nations where laughing when we called Bush Hitler too. We need to leave the Natzi references to the Natzi. No need to call any American president a Natzi. Its just a disgrace coming from Americans from the right of left.

  • oh give me a break, what effects? that "stimulous" bill was a dem payoff bill

name one thing... just one thing in that bill that stimulates the economy? all it does is stimulate dem supporters

  • Fellow Tubelers,

Are we so gullible, that media hype is controlling our emotions? Everything is not a light-switch. As with a government program, in any administration, it takes time for affects to take hold. Our common interests are being manipulated by elected officials, with their personal agendas, and the media, which amplifies small tidbits to frighten the viewer.

Please, think before you yell, else fall to the criticism of reason.

    Best wishes.

  • 2.1 million jobs is "small tid bits"?

$1.8 trillion budget deficit is a "personal agenda"?

Holy Christ... I hope you were the biggest Bush supporter ever or you've just made yourself the largest hypocrit ever.

  • JordanLeDoux,

I did ask everyone to think. You are talking today's dollars. In ratio, it is the same as way back when.

    We have a larger population.

The budget numbers were in accordance with GDP, and economic growth, to include the stock market.

I am not looking at politics, as my post clearly excluded. Maybe I should have let everyone know. Some, need explanation, and I have just supplied it. Any questions.

    You?

  • Obama is *planning* on running up a deficit in two years that's larger than the deficit Bush ran up in eight years, *while* he was conducting two wars and expanding medicare.

$1.8 trillion today is worth some $200-300 billion two years ago? Are you high?

2.1 million jobs represents almost 1.5% *of the entire workforce*, and those are just the payroll jobs that the Department of Labor counts.

Obama is even increasing troops in Iraq & Afghanistan. You don't know WTF you're talking about.

  • JordanLeDoux,

The Bush plan was only thirty-billion, (30,000,000,000.00) short of what Pres. Obama has proposed. I am not partisan. The 1.5% is a comparatively small number, compared to the job losses, without the stimulus package. Real time jobs were created. The media has you scared.

Pres. Obama inherited the problem that had been developing, and you want it solved overnight. That is unlikely, due to the politicians arguing for power, and control.

    What is the question.

    You?

  • Hey! Where is that second great depression?

    *looks around*

I don't see it anywhere. I wonder...what happened in the last 8 months that might have....prevented it?!

    WHOA. No way, dude.

  • Hahaha...

There was no plan when Bush was in office. You think I'm trying to say Bush is better? Obama has been exactly the same as Bush in every important way, and it's fucked up.

1.5% of ever person over 20 isn't huge? You're living in a fantasy land.

    The unemployment is over 16%...

Real time jobs were created? Prove it.

The media hasn't scared me, I've been complaining about this stuff for years. Check the videos in my favorites.

  • JordanLeDoux,

Yes there was, but the conflicts were the focus of the media. All recent presidents have to produce a plan for Congress. It is the Law.

The stimulus package pays for shovel ready projects. e.g. road construction. The money offered to each state helped their economy. Look it up in your state, it is there.

To whom have you complained? Your elected officials or me, and others. I, now, e-mail my office holders, repeatedly. I call them all out.

    You?

  • I do believe this will bring a revolution though

    that's good

but economically, it's still going to hurt for a very long time

  • I think inflation will be worse than Carter's and while I consider myself a conservative, I'm not cheering about this making it easier for conservatives. We will need a SuperReagan to clean this mess up. I don't see one of those in the horizon

  • Republicans are just as much to blame. As far as I'm concerned President Obama is just carrying on where President Bush left off. Nothing different. Business as usual.

  • fuck republicans fuck democrats - join the INDEPENDENT MOVEMENT!!!!!!! -

  • The problem is that we the people do not get to vote. When was the last time you remember being asked for your opinion? Representatives are supposed to bring to the floor what their constituents ask or have a need for. Town hall meetings are supposed to be prior to a bill, not after. And then could we trust them? What, with special interest lining pockets. Tea parties and town halls are indicative of how real Americans are feeling lied to and left out, all the while footing the bill, and burden.

  • The problem is that we were sold a bill of goods. Obama predictions about the economy failed completely. He tries to hide behind the excuse that he didn't know how bad the economy is, but that's incorrect. Once he became the DNC candidate, he was getting the same information that Bush had. If he didn't know, he wasn't paying attention.

So far, Obama has accomplished little but get elected.

And we're supposed to trust his judgment with health care?

  • You people seem to forget that we were on the brink of a second depression.

Your memories are short I'm guessing.

  • You're too young to remember the Carter administration so I'll clue you; phase one is beginning to settle down but phase two is where the Hyper Inflation kicks in. You can look forward to inflation in the teens and interest rates upwards of 20%. Unless it's *worse* than the Carter years.

Our memories are fine. Yours just isn't old enough.

Then again this mess will probably bring us another Reagan (or a real Revolution) so maybe it's worth the aggravation...

  • The Economy is Recovering,

The World is Respecting us again,

    The Wars are Winding Down,

    The Markets are Up,

And Its Only Been 7 Months...

It Burns Like the Fires of Hell!

  • "The Economy is Recovering,

The World is Respecting us again,

    The Wars are Winding Down,

    The Markets are Up,"

We've lost millions of jobs, only the rich have gotten richer, Obama is planning on increasing the troops in both Iraq and Afghanistan by the end of the year, and the markets are beginning to fall from their dead-cat bounce.

  • "Six Months Later and What Do You Get?"

Another day older and deeper in debt?

  • it is a world wide crisis! world wide means;

it hit all but few countries on our plate!

-europeans are glad your bonuses are getting as big as before and they`ll get their money back, they`ve invested over the years in your companies.

-hannity told everyone he ever met that bush inherited a recession!

-Pres. Obam has done more public stunts ,

speeches and interviews than bush in his full time, as of yet.

  • Obama is a FAILURE. if the election were held over today he would lose by a landslide. He has done nothing he promised. All he seems to be interested in is growing the government. The American people have spoken NO MORE BIG GOVERNMENT. It does not work. Lets get rid of Obama and his cohorts in the house and senate before anymore damage is done. Impeach Obama, Biden, Nancy and Harry now.

  • Look at it this way; if McCain had won they'd be busy tearing him apart in the news and we'd never have known what a colossal failure 0bama and his policies would turn out to be.

Face it, 0bama's the best thing to happen to the Conservative Movement in a long long time.

  • The Reagan Revolution + Bush/Cheney put us in a deep, deep hole leading to economic meltdown. The failed companies then blackmailed the govt. for the money and most who received this largesse are Republicans. And, it's all Obama's fault? You right-wingers are total loons.

  • let me guess, the Better way is tax cuts? Cause that worked so brilliantly during the Bush years...You damn conservatives called Liberals every name in the book when they tried to criticize Bush before 9/11. You blamed everything prior to 9/11 on Clinton. Shit, you even blamed 9/11 on Clinton's mistakes( really its Bush 1 and Reagan's mistakes). Give Obama a break, you tards.

  • When Obama losses his reelection campaign and they are dragging him out of the whitehouse by his feet with him still clinging to his telepropter; No doubt he'll be yelling. "IT'S NOT MY FAULT". "IT'S BUSH'S FAULT".

  • Stop the stimulus. Obama is a failure. Vote indepedent in 2010 people. indepedent in 2012. the economy is getting worst.

  • Great job on the video.

If Government suspended ALL taxes for two years this would have had a positive effect on the economy at a fraction of the cost. But we all know Dems & liberal politicians want control & power and the liberal/naive public just want a Sugar Daddy or Sugar Momma. I do hold out hope for those that dont agree with conservatism. You are for the most part smart people, but you have been sold a bag of goods..

  • Republican pigs are to blame. oink oink.

  • Lol. What a lame attempt at an argument.

The easiest point to make, and i only watched it up until this point, was when the author said it will IMMEDIATELY create 4-5 millions jobs. Not only were 4-5 million jobs not promised, nowhere was he able to quote Obama saying 4-5 million jobs would be spontaneously created.

  • I find it risible that the GOP should attack Pres. Obama on the economy less than a year after he's taken office when the last GOP President, GW Bush, had the distinction of presiding over TWO BUSH RECESSIONS, one starting in March 2001, AFTER HE TOOK OFFICE, and the other beginning in December 2007. See

    tinyurl(.)com/NBERDates

Having lived thru GOP recessions before, I know employment is a LAGGING indicator of recovery which you will see as Obama cleans up your GOP mess

    Thx 4 the video :-)

  • Sorry, can't use Bush as your strawman, anymore. While it is debatable who, exactly, was responsible for the origins of the economic crisis (and to blame any president as the cause of such a complex problem is very simplistic), Obama chose the steps he took to correct it, and failed. even to reverse it. HIS policy, HIS choices, HIS responsibility for wasting time and money on the Porkulus. ='[.]'=

  • Raycheetah wrote "can't use Bush as your strawman, anymore"

I'm not sure you understand what a "strawman" is b/c I didn't use Bush as a "strawman"

Raycheetah wrote "to blame any president as the cause of such a complex problem is very simplistic"

Tell the makers of this video

Raycheetah wrote "Obama chose the steps he took to correct it, and failed. even to reverse it"

Your contradicting your previous quote and failing to address employment being a lagging indicator

    Thx for the reply :-)

  • To clarify:

Strawman: Blaming Bush when presented with the failure of Obama's policies.

Simplistic to blame Bush for the original situation; not simplistic to blame Obama for his directed policies failing to solve that problem.

Yes, the economy Obama inherited sucked. No, one can't simply say "Bush did it." Yes, one can say Obama's efforts have been wasteful and unsuccessful.

Employment figures, even doctored, are far worse than Obama promised. How long does he get to fix that?

    Thx! =^[.]^=

  • That's still not a strawman?

A straw man would require Liberal Viewer to present a false representation of Bush and his policies in order to cast him in a negative light.

Obama's policies have barely had time to sink in. The economy will not recover in 6 months no matter what you do. People need to realise no policy will provide instant gratification. Especially after the mess left by the Bush years.

  • OR Could it be that all the money that has been poured into the system by simply printing it up is setting us up for the worst bout of inflation in American history?

  • The recession isn't the problem. It's the solution. Stop with the stimulus.

  • Bingo. Start a town hall meeting.
