@Murpheee22 You can't compare Ben Foden in the same league as Robinson. Foden does his job but doesn't provide that extra spark. Fullbacks nowadays with that spark are Kurtley Beale, Israel Dagg and perhaps Medard when he's on form.

im a all black supporter....but you gotta say this guy had a lot of speed an excellaration....and one guy you would want in your back line.....was definately the x-facter 4 england....exciting to watch....
England could do with someone like him in their backline now. It seems we don't have anyone injecting that much pace like he did which could make all the difference!
@TeamSpambo those words were proven correct today, I was not pleased with how our lads carried themselves, there was a marked lack of heart. That draw counts as a losss top me.
A total lack-luster display of boring rugby by England. When Ben Fodden came on, we had someone who actually ran at the Scots hard and got over the gain-line, apart from that it was that boring arial ping-pong and what was going on in the scrums!!!. I'll hand it to the scots though, they did play the better rugby with the ball in-hand!
i started typing before i'd watced the whole vid, omg that lions try I remember watching that and I was in awe, that's what you call pure confidence and determination to skin (i tihnk latham) on the outside with practically no space.
such a great player i dont know how anyone could say that he is over rated he is so good and if anyone says he isnt then u r such a faggot. so much speed and acceleration and probablly the best i have ever seen
I watched Jason Robinson when he was in the Wigan Academy side back in the early 90's playing from scrum half and he was obviously on a different level to anyone else then. Any dicks on here saying "over rated" or anything else along them lines have no idea what there talking about.
He was one of only a very small group of players that not only succeeded at both codes, but shone in both codes. That is testament to a very talented player.
Plus no other player in the world created the excitement amongst the crowd that he did everytime he got the ball. Class!!!
You cant class a player on that. Just one try that happened to be a match winner doesnt make you the best. He was good and Im not disputing that, but I am disputing your reasoning
@successconsulting Are you joking? Easily one of the best winger/fullbacks in the world in his day and your saying he is over-rated. Think before you say something you know nothing about, you idiot.

yes. In fact, one of my school friends was recently paralyzed from the neck down - at age 17. There is also a sad story of a promising rugby player breaking his neck in a scrum. He couldn't cope with life in a wheelchair so took a trip to switzerland and ended it all. It's not frequent, but it happens - especially for front row players.
there's a news reporter for rugby world called matt hampson, he broke his neck in a scrummaging exercise for england u21s, like others have said, it happens, but rarely.
Geez, yet another rugby clip full of talk about NFL. It's like the rugby version of Godwin's Law - all threads must be spammed with rubbish about NFL. zzzzzzzzz does anyone really care?!
haha foosball is too hollywood for my liking.rugby players will never play that stupid sport coz its not real.its just too fake.i know its not but put an idiot in that amount of body armour he'll do great.besides foosball is only known or even played in america haha nobody gives 2 shits about it.rugby is too awsome to be even talk about foosball makes me sick.rugby owns! just stick with ur sport america save urself the humiliation.
Why are you guys comparing different sports? Put a marathon runner against a rugby player see who has endurance?! A stupid comparison 'cause it's different sports. Americans have a massive population to from which to choose their athletes, and they're scouted and nourished from a young age based on ability and physical attributes.
america doesn't have a massive population compared to the entire rugby world, though...and that's why it's interesting that they have more impressive athletes
realistically one of about only four rugby players ever who could have gotten into the practice squads or pre season teams in the NFL as a non lineman. great athlete. he really was that good
I agree. And it raises an interesting point. Why does one country seem to produce so many ridiculous athletes when the rest of the world produces so few in comparison? Especially seeing as the American gene pool is inherited from the rest of the world. NFL training techniques really aren't noticably ahead of rugby since nowadays and so your thoughts naturally think.."steroids."
actually unlike rugby the nfl has some decent testing procedures but they are still behind the times. remember also rugby takes alot more stamina and therefore speed and strength are not going to as good as they are in the nfl. and also remember many nfl athletes are a direct result of slave trade genetics. think of it like this of all the worlds top black athletes. how many of them are african or slave trade country athletes? ie people who come from usa or carribean?
Which I find sad, because I am a huge fan of the NFL. Unless of course we are wrong and in fact rugby players are closer to NFL in terms of athletisism. It's hard to tell with rugby guys not really tested that much in the way of 40 yard dashes etc.
@biglittlejujitsuman cmon dude. if AP played rugby, he'd be finished after 4 runs. you just can't run like that in rugby. he'd be concussed, killed or worse... some back-rowers hit like Ray Lewis on steroids for 80 minutes soolid. ya don't see 80 minutes of continual play in the NFL
for anyone to say rugby players hit like ray lewis is pathetic. for starters lewis is as fast any rugby player around today and is heavier than most back rows. at 250lbs he is as heavy as many prop forwards and ran a 10.6 100m in his prime. adrian peterson doesnt play rugby but if the money was there he could train and would undoubtably be more dangerous on the ball than anyone around now. simply put he is a better athlete than anyone in rugby union.
as for 80 minutes solid i never saw a rugby match where players went for 80 minutes solid. you might give ten to fifteen tackles a game not tackling non stop for 80 minutes. the nfl is more dangerous and players are injured far more often than in rugby union. reasons being rules allow it in the nfl and the americans are just better athletes
granted, it doesnt go for 80 minutes, but how long was the longest play you've ever seen in the NFL? 10 seconds? 20 seconds? 30 seconds? Rugby will go for 5 minutes non-stop. tackle, get up. run. tackle, get up, run. carry, tackle. could AP do that? Could Ray do that? How many tackles / runs do they do each play? 1.
if you ever saw the nfl combine you would be surprised at just how strong the athletes guys 6"2 weighing 205lbs running a 10.21 100m and bench pressing 100kg 20+ reps. amazing athletes. just because plays dont last long doesnt mean that if they trained for rugby the couldnt play it
As for better athletes, they're different kinds of athletes. Linemen would die- you cant be 22 / 23 stone and play for 80 minutes. Rugby players are fitter, more skillful and would run rings around any NFL team. care to challenge me? you select any players you want, any NFL playes you fancy, and I bet they couldn't live with the All Blacks past 3 minutes. They might be as fast/faster than some of the players, but they would be run off they're arses by the ABs.
you would be very surprised by just how athletic they are. put it this way. considering money in the nfl is so much better than in rugby dont you think that if some rugby players were that athletic they would go to the nfl. if americans took rugby seriously the all blacks wouldnt be talked about same with brazil and soccer.
i will tell you - why would rugby players want to play NFL? it's soooooo boring, all stop-start. rugby is fun to watch and fun to play. why would they swap something they've played since they were 4 for a boring sport played by steroid-induced weight-lifters and watched by fat people? Rugby wins, all day, everyday. can you have international american football? thers more adventure in rugby, more oppotunities. i mean, can you go and play pro-football in france, or new zealand, or south adrica?
can you earn 40million a year plus palying rugby? i dont think so. there are people from japan samoa germany and other places playing in the nfl. there are no national teams only franchises. none the less the athletes are better and they at least get tested properly for steroids where as rugby players dont so you can call them what you like but your wrong. weather you like one sport over another is your own opinion and if you find the nfl boring thats your opinion
NFL players are tested no better than rugby players, a few players per game are tested, and very often if they do turn up positive, a blind eye is turned. Either way it is easy to avoid turning up a positive result if your careful.
It would be hard to deny most NFL players use performance enhancing drugs because nature would not allow them to reach those kind of sizes. He is quite right in saying NFL players are weight lifting (often steroid using) unfit lumps of meat.
they are not unfit wide recievers cover more ground in a game than a rugby back. ye they take breaks but you try running full speed for 40 yards 20 times in an hour and maybe take a big hit or two. its not as easy as it looks. they need to have fitness for fast recovery so they can go out and run again at full speed and not be tired after ten plays. as for their size americans are bigger in general. look at the nba the vast majority of good athletes are black.
I will admit though i know alot of rugby players who use performance enhancing drugs, however the difference is, rugby players are alot fitter, the game is all about stamina and repeatedly tackling, rucking, mauling, running, without stopping for breaks.
American football is all about short bursts of strength and speed.
Agreed. That said, I love american football too. Once you know the rules, you don't find yourself bored between plays. All the commercial breaks annoy me, and it really bugs me when the announcers slip in a slogan of some company for some extra advertsing revenue. You never get that kind of commercialised shit in rugby.
rugby players(backs mainly) are often standing around on the pitch for minutes at a time when there is rucking and trucking through the middle for short gains going on. ye the play in non stop but not all players are running non stop. im not saying that nfl players have as much cardiovascular fitness as rugby players but they are still relativly fit in certain positions. now forget the nfl because this is a jason robinson video. all i said is he was athletic enough to playin the nfl.
who all play football man? all the athletes? they could never be rugby players man. rugby is about finese, skill as well as athletesism. you keep on goin on about how football players are "better athletes" how many of them can throw a40-yard rugby pass, or kick well? apart from kickers? serious man, they got no skill, . rugby got all these little skills- everyone HAS to be able to pass off either hand. i don't think football players can/ would ever be able to. anyone with any skill plays NBA
Geez, so quick, so powerful, and unlike some physically equal players (e.g Brian Habana, lachie turner, etc.) has incredible footwork, maybe the best ever.
Only players that come close are shane williams of wales, and occasionally, Digby Ioane or Sitiveni Sivivatu
yeah, in a world of rugby giants, which they are nowadays, the little guys have to make up for lack of physical presence by being quick. matt banaham and jonah lomu are two examples, they're big guys, and their footwork is nowhere near this.
If someone has the balls to say he's shite then they don't play rugby!!!!!

JPA1994 2 years ago
for anyone to say rugby players hit like ray lewis is pathetic. for starters lewis is as fast any rugby player around today and is heavier than most back rows. at 250lbs he is as heavy as many prop forwards and ran a 10.6 100m in his prime. adrian peterson doesnt play rugby but if the money was there he could train and would undoubtably be more dangerous on the ball than anyone around now. simply put he is a better athlete than anyone in rugby union.
biglittlejujitsuman 2 years ago
as for 80 minutes solid i never saw a rugby match where players went for 80 minutes solid. you might give ten to fifteen tackles a game not tackling non stop for 80 minutes. the nfl is more dangerous and players are injured far more often than in rugby union. reasons being rules allow it in the nfl and the americans are just better athletes
biglittlejujitsuman 2 years ago
the only reason NFL is more dangerous is becuae players can't tackle properly. they just dive in head first.
JPA1994 2 years ago
granted, it doesnt go for 80 minutes, but how long was the longest play you've ever seen in the NFL? 10 seconds? 20 seconds? 30 seconds? Rugby will go for 5 minutes non-stop. tackle, get up. run. tackle, get up, run. carry, tackle. could AP do that? Could Ray do that? How many tackles / runs do they do each play? 1.
JPA1994 2 years ago
if you ever saw the nfl combine you would be surprised at just how strong the athletes guys 6"2 weighing 205lbs running a 10.21 100m and bench pressing 100kg 20+ reps. amazing athletes. just because plays dont last long doesnt mean that if they trained for rugby the couldnt play it
biglittlejujitsuman 2 years ago
As for better athletes, they're different kinds of athletes. Linemen would die- you cant be 22 / 23 stone and play for 80 minutes. Rugby players are fitter, more skillful and would run rings around any NFL team. care to challenge me? you select any players you want, any NFL playes you fancy, and I bet they couldn't live with the All Blacks past 3 minutes. They might be as fast/faster than some of the players, but they would be run off they're arses by the ABs.
JPA1994 2 years ago
you would be very surprised by just how athletic they are. put it this way. considering money in the nfl is so much better than in rugby dont you think that if some rugby players were that athletic they would go to the nfl. if americans took rugby seriously the all blacks wouldnt be talked about same with brazil and soccer.
biglittlejujitsuman 2 years ago
i will tell you - why would rugby players want to play NFL? it's soooooo boring, all stop-start. rugby is fun to watch and fun to play. why would they swap something they've played since they were 4 for a boring sport played by steroid-induced weight-lifters and watched by fat people? Rugby wins, all day, everyday. can you have international american football? thers more adventure in rugby, more oppotunities. i mean, can you go and play pro-football in france, or new zealand, or south adrica?
JPA1994 2 years ago
can you earn 40million a year plus palying rugby? i dont think so. there are people from japan samoa germany and other places playing in the nfl. there are no national teams only franchises. none the less the athletes are better and they at least get tested properly for steroids where as rugby players dont so you can call them what you like but your wrong. weather you like one sport over another is your own opinion and if you find the nfl boring thats your opinion
biglittlejujitsuman 2 years ago
NFL players are tested no better than rugby players, a few players per game are tested, and very often if they do turn up positive, a blind eye is turned. Either way it is easy to avoid turning up a positive result if your careful.
It would be hard to deny most NFL players use performance enhancing drugs because nature would not allow them to reach those kind of sizes. He is quite right in saying NFL players are weight lifting (often steroid using) unfit lumps of meat.
sargares18 2 years ago
they are not unfit wide recievers cover more ground in a game than a rugby back. ye they take breaks but you try running full speed for 40 yards 20 times in an hour and maybe take a big hit or two. its not as easy as it looks. they need to have fitness for fast recovery so they can go out and run again at full speed and not be tired after ten plays. as for their size americans are bigger in general. look at the nba the vast majority of good athletes are black.
biglittlejujitsuman 2 years ago
@sargares18 yeh a player in the magners league i think it his hit himself a 2 year ban for dopping.
mndpsp1 2 years ago
I will admit though i know alot of rugby players who use performance enhancing drugs, however the difference is, rugby players are alot fitter, the game is all about stamina and repeatedly tackling, rucking, mauling, running, without stopping for breaks.
American football is all about short bursts of strength and speed.
sargares18 2 years ago
Agreed. That said, I love american football too. Once you know the rules, you don't find yourself bored between plays. All the commercial breaks annoy me, and it really bugs me when the announcers slip in a slogan of some company for some extra advertsing revenue. You never get that kind of commercialised shit in rugby.
Simpo911 2 years ago
rugby players(backs mainly) are often standing around on the pitch for minutes at a time when there is rucking and trucking through the middle for short gains going on. ye the play in non stop but not all players are running non stop. im not saying that nfl players have as much cardiovascular fitness as rugby players but they are still relativly fit in certain positions. now forget the nfl because this is a jason robinson video. all i said is he was athletic enough to playin the nfl.
biglittlejujitsuman 2 years ago
p.s if the americans are better athletes, why is thier rugby team sooo shit?
JPA1994 2 years ago 2
Because they all play football.
seanwilbur 2 years ago
who all play football man? all the athletes? they could never be rugby players man. rugby is about finese, skill as well as athletesism. you keep on goin on about how football players are "better athletes" how many of them can throw a40-yard rugby pass, or kick well? apart from kickers? serious man, they got no skill, . rugby got all these little skills- everyone HAS to be able to pass off either hand. i don't think football players can/ would ever be able to. anyone with any skill plays NBA

Every rugby coach needs to sit there back three down and make them watch that run....
Obviously defenses are much more organised these days, but not running the ball back is causing way too much ping pong.

What song is this >?
deczm13 2 years ago
Geez, so quick, so powerful, and unlike some physically equal players (e.g Brian Habana, lachie turner, etc.) has incredible footwork, maybe the best ever.
Only players that come close are shane williams of wales, and occasionally, Digby Ioane or Sitiveni Sivivatu
MatthewHolt11 2 years ago
yeah, in a world of rugby giants, which they are nowadays, the little guys have to make up for lack of physical presence by being quick. matt banaham and jonah lomu are two examples, they're big guys, and their footwork is nowhere near this.
FuryMyStr 2 years ago
lomu ran 100m in 10.8 seconds and had a very good step on him..
hustleboy62 2 years ago
a good step maybe, nothing compared to this footwork though.
