Not true. The number of prey would increase then reach it's height and slack back down due to lack of food, spread mass of disease, or the sudden increase in other predators that found it simpler to find easy prey.

They hunt all day and night in isolated small groups away from the clan. If Hyenas were any bigger, Lions would be wipe off the map, the Lions brings balance to the wild. 30 in a pride, 80 in a clan. Hyenas will join forces to take Lion territories, how do you think they do that when males are present? Lions main adversaries are Lions, is that smart?

@GUARDIANtrooper male lions identify matriarchs and kill them first. What you don't understand is numbers mean nothing when the whole pack fears male lions. There are many occassions of 1 male lion running into a pack of 20-30 hyenas and killing the matriarch while the rest of the pack flees/watches. Of course they could defeat him but the lions have outsmarted hyenas and exploited their fear as a weakness. As long as theres a male present hyenas are defeated doesn't matter the size of the pack.

What you don't understand is, male Lions grow tire, old and weak from being beat up by other Lions and when they go up against multi packs, they don't even challenge. Youtube will not show you everything, you have to really research. Hyenas are known to join Lion prides or Lions and Hyenas feasting together and mating. Animals are like people, "just because" is obsolete in the wild.

Hyenas know that the alfa male Lions can kill them easily, but if you get enough Hyenas they will take the kill they don't care about defeating a pride, they want food and the territory, UNITY is power... There are some very brave matriarchs that would challenge a male Lion by the marking of the territory to take it. When they are hungry enough during drought season, food is scarce for both parties. They will eat their own for survival.

Not true. The number of prey would increase then reach it's height and slack back down due to lack of food, spread mass of disease, or the sudden increase in other predators that found it simpler to find easy prey.
That's the way it's been since the first species dissapeared. The world has always found a balance, even if others were taken out in the process.
