Hey Tyler, nice vid.. do you notice knat problems having this indoors.. ? I would like to do this sometime and collected a lot of scraps but knats got really bad.
@dianemummvideos No problems to report thus far. If I notice it's becoming a problem, I will definitely post about it. I would suggest adding a layer of bedding after each layer of scraps to keep it covered a little better.
I have a plastic container for vermicomposting. cheep and it works wonderful. I also have used the cheap plastic buckets from a Lowes. Great video! Thanks
@lgrbarnard2 Yep, me too. I have a tub and a Worm Inn to take care of my waste...and a tumbler out back. I've found that buckets are good for pre-soaking materials for the tumbler.
I have the Worm Inn. I did use the stand. It is easier to put food waste in especially for people that have a hard time lifting there arms over there heads. Great video by the way. Love the plumb color. I have the burgendy.
@Allen2045 The stand looks great, but since I couldn't get the pipe right away it made more sense to just get it started and get the worms out of their package. It was a great incentive for me to clean under my steps...earlier in the video you can see how cluttered it used to be!
how dose your house smell?

@terry9748 The same as always? I study waste for a living, so I may be a bit anosmic. :)
I don't find worm composting systems to smell anything horrendous, although it can happen if they're ignored for long enough and become unbalanced.

@dianemummvideos I've noticed when I slab some newspaper or freshly mowed grass on top of the scraps, the gnats leave.
