@death0personified I think it seems a little much on video, but perfect when listened live. I saw him live a few times and he blew me away every single time. A real artist.
im madly in love with christian tetzlaff. i saw him at lincoln center and it changed my life! for once no one in the audience coughed during his like 10 minute cadenza
Of course he is a phantastic violin player and he shows this here. However, stylistically I do not like this interpretation especially as I find his vibrato overly sweet and intense for this Mozart movement. Of course it is a matter of taste, no objective criticism, therefore do not stone me: To me it sounds unoriginal and not true. Therefore it bores me, although it is played very well. I miss his personal humble voice I hear in his Bach recordings.
i love his interpretation its his way of transmitting his feelings during playing this song, every concert maestro is unique in a certain way. he is far away from my country ,but i'd go to his concerts if he would play in mine. thx Chris for playing excellent
I agree, horrible intonation, his vibrato sounds like a goat. How he has a career is a mystery. And what's up with him bending his knees all the time? It looks like he's about to sit down on the toilet.
I get motion sickness if I look at him. Don't get me wrong, I like Tetzlaff, and I don't mind people moving around when playing, but his articulation is just random and arbitrary, and the swells are a bit disgusting. He sounds like he's just indulging himself, which is not essentially bad, but it doesn't sound artistic... Sorry I don't like Tetzlaff on this.
Wow! Well tell your uncle that I loved listening to his masterclasses in Kronberg last week and I learned so so much even as a passive student! I got to learn how to pay attention to every detail in the score and to be hyper sensitive to the sound and colours, anyway, he is a great inspiration. I should have auditionned for his class...
pretty awful - pulls it to pieces under guise of great emotion ,

stechino123 haha
If you can get one tone out of a violin like he does, and by one I mean really one single tone, you can have my both violins
and bows which worth probably much more than your house..
You say this on probably every single video of him, so
I guess you applied for his masterclass and got your ass kicked most probably because you can't play shit --;;

I'm guessing that if he should get a job at Mcdonals then than probably means you do not exist, you obviously don't have any criteria.

Perhaps I was brought up with Stern's Mozart 3rd with Szell, but I found this rather self-indulgent...

He is incredible.
I don't understand why he isn't more widely known!
Thanks for the video.

I can't tell you why!
Christian is not the guy who likes to be in the media!
He won several "Echos", but he never went to the ceremony, that is shown in the TV!
He rarely plays in front of cameras.
He just loves the music and doesn't care about being famous.
Trust me, I know him good! (He is my uncle ;-p )
