PS3 fat and slim both heat up.... The PS3 fat has an better air flow while the PS3 slim heat is concentrated closer to the back so then the fan can suck it out :-) That's why the PS3 slim is a little warm in the back. If it get's hot as in you can cook on it then you have a problem.

MoriBruno, perhapse this will help you out. The slim actually uses 70% less electricity. That is what I was told at Gamestop.
