@davorinas You're kidding, right? Pepsi is an excellent singer, and she's so extraordinary beautiful it hurts my eyes to look at her more than a few seconds at a time!...
I like her, but take away Maggie reilly´s voice and the song "lost" something...it is when somebody else sing the song taht you realise how good she was (and still is!). Thanks for posting, anyway, great live version
Pepsi is good, I love "Man In The Rain" but I just have to say Maggie is not only one of Mik'e best singers but probably one of the better female singers I've ever heard. And this has nothing to do with the few clunker notes Pepsi threw in this version, but just that Maggie has a more sweeter sound that complimented Mike's songs that required it - ala, "Moonlight Shadow", "Five Miles Out" and "To France".
She is so hot. She is also dreadfully off key and her vocal range is limited, Pepsi is incredible within her limitations like Belinda Carlisle, just gorgeously pulling you in. Pepsi gives a great raging performance. There is so much musical coyness in the way this song is put together anyway, the instruments and the voice. Always liked it, one of my favorite train wreck tunes. Oldfield is amazing.
Thanks to one of those "Don't Forget the Lyrics" shows that featured the Hall & Oates version of this song, I discovered this original version. Loved the Hall & Oates version for years, but I think I like Mike Oldfield's take best. This live version is great.
@Drumr56 By version you mean by Mike Oldfield as opposed to Hall & Oates? You know Oldfield wrote that song? I love the H&O version too. Or do you mean the crazy sound he gets on this one?
ive got the live album of this concert, but they left out this song. Think it had to do with tb3 being brought out on the night. Does anyone know if the whole concert is available, not just the tb3 release?
The only version of Family Man, Moonlight Shadow and Tubular Bells Part 1 played at this concert is available only as home made recordings of the live broadcast by TVE2. Those were removed from the official DVD.
Family Man was written by Mike Oldfield. It's from the album Five Miles Out, which was released in 1982. The version performed by Hall and Oates was a hit in 1983. In June of 1982, Family Man hit number 4 on the Top 30 in Ottawa. :)
Who wrote this song mike oldfirld or hall and oats ? i kind of remember it being sung by that woman who sang moonlight shadow so it might have been oldfield who wrote it but im unsure.
Great pop song, but once you have heard Daryl Hall sing it....well it's hard to hear others sing it....even the original artist as it is in this case. Hall and Oates straightened out the arrangement too on their version. Sorry !
Maggie Riley - type into Utube with Moonlight Shadow...should have stuck with Maggie, anything else is a cover version of Ms Riley and Mike Oldfields work
i really think the only thing that makes the video is not only the performance of the singer but her voice too.
If you think anything else carries this vid... wtf the white men that can barely move side to side or the the half hearted atempt at playing the semi drums.....
only schade thing about this vid is ur lack of respect for women performing in france in horrible conditions... i think you should put more pie in ur face and try less and putting others down
Um I think she did just fine irregardless of hoe miss of a tune or 2... look at the other performers...the dude who plays the guitar looks like he could be in his 80s... at least she makes a commanding live physical/(and IMO vocal) performance
This clip does not do justice for the song unfortunately. Maggie is the only vocalist who can do a song for mike oldfield. When playing an instrumentalist the focus should be on the sound not the video. A real shame for such a great song.
la cuestion no es esa, mas quisiera ELLA cantar el DOBLE que yo... y si crees que estoy blasfemando es que la consideras una diosa, creo que has caido muy bajo... No olvides visitar mi web!

OOOhh, I miss this from the DVD, and maybe other songs as well? Although I don't really like the singer. Her name is Pepsi Demacque by the way.

interesting though like they have said the singer voice is out of tune for the entire song
Gracias de todas formas, como curiosidad vale.

The original took a while to grow on me because it was a little off. This? This, is not so good. But it was interesting to watch. Thanks for posting.

This video was recorded from the Spanish TV, in the DVD only appears the "Warner" songs because of the royalties. Family Man is a Virgin song

I was there for this concert, and it was awesome. They missed Moonlight Shadow for the same reason.
