This is sick. Who would ever do this to a hose!? It pisses me off how they treat their animals, I think the police should shut down this cruel place. No animal deserves this for crying out loud. Just look at the poor animal... He can't even walk without being harassed. Like I said before, I think this should be put a stopped to. I feel terrible for the horses, cattle, or any other animals in use of the Rodeo. Hell, I even feel bad for the horses the 'cowboys' are riding. D:
THERES deffinatley something wrong with this horse :( which makes me wanna kill these people and get the place shut down! They are very cruel and everyone says that they hate there shows! (rodeos) anyways i have seen bronc horses preform and if this horse were fine it wouldnt be tripping or anything !
That's not right. That's not natural. Even if it doesn't 'kill' the horse... It was not doing any natural movements - dragging it hindleg, is not a good sign. Horses legs are like china and should be treated with upmost respect.
I don't see how people can NOT see the how the horse is still all unsteady with weak legs just before he's led out. Clearly there's is no duobt that something is wrong with him, anyone who knows just a slightest bit about animals would see that?
It's sad to see. I really feel bad for King of the Lizards.
American history or not, the 'modern' rodeo will never a poor excuse of 'rodeo'.
Today, it's full of fake cowbodys getting their horses shocked, poor horsemanship between a cowboy and his horse, and fulled with too many cattle and horse 'announcer dodging' injuries or deaths. Old timer's took pride in their livestock. If their stock tossed a rider before the time limit, it meant they had the best bull or bronco. Not anymore.
@horses189101 Notice him continue to be uncoordinated AFTER the strap was removed????? Obviously some sort or head or neck injury, interrupting the signals from his brain to his legs. Seen a horse with wobblers?? That's what that looks like.
This is the second video I have watched and I can't figure out why he is stumbling. It could be any number of things but he does look exghausted/week. As for the announcers thier job is to keep the audience laughing or intrested and it isn't right to keep them in the dark. I'm sure they acknowledge that the horse is injured they just can't say anything about it or maybe your right and they just don't want to acknowledge it. I would really like to find out what caused the horse's staggering...
@weeeeeeeeeee5, have you ever cinched a horse up too tight, too quick? They can fall down. Either a rigging/cinch OR flank can be TOO tight. Painful tight. Scary, make the horse panic type, because he's basically being "cut in half" as another commenter mentioned. Of course, the other commenter seems to think there's nothing wrong with that. But after all, this is rodeo-land, where standard rules of horsemanship do not apply.
@AAAYTie People need to no this is the rodeo spirit and YES they are bred to buck and i no because there is a stallion standing at stud and he is bred to buck so yea
@TheBarrelsGirl Bucking/kicking is an individual animal's tendency. Not something bred into them. The sheer number of animals rodeo stock contractors dump into slaughter or ditches proves that. It's the flank strap that forces the buck out of an animal. Most of Bodacious' offspring have been duds by bucking standards.
You post all these videos of "abuse" do u even have horses?? Accidents happen in every sport...I've been to many rodeos and haven't seen the animals get hurt...rodeo animals probably get better care then you do...maybe you should start posting the whole story and not just your side of it!
@missy8538 Go tell rodeo to post the animal injuries and deaths which they conveniently leave out of their broadcasts. After all, that's their side of it.
As for rodeo animals getting better care, being forced to limp out or needing to be carted out of the rodeo arena because they can no longer walk, is not 'good care'.
They play that high pitched tone whenever an animal seems to be injured. It's a weird message to the crew to cover up/take the animal away. I noticed this from your vids, SHARK.
God i go to rodeos all the time and some times compete and people should no these horses where bred to buck god dam it and the only time the people have to 'kill' the horse is it has snapped a bone and other wise they are fine bloody hell people.
@TheBarrelsGirl Nice flip comment about horses being 'killed' for snapping a bone. You validate what we've been saying all along about the dismissive attitude rodeo people have towards the animals.
@TheBarrelsGirl Were these horses bred to break bones as well? That horse barely looks three or four years old...A broken stifle( the remains of the equine knee) is something that cannot be fixed and i think if that horse hadnt been baited to buck so 'wildly' he wouldn't fell down like that. I doubt that horse survived the day..
@GoGadgetHookerClean Yes that horse did survive the day and he is fine and the horses are not bred to break bones aswell i dont see people complaining about bull bucking and horse bucking has the same risk either one if the animal breaks a bone they have to be put down
@TheBarrelsGirl ""i dont see people complaining about bull bucking and horse bucking has the same risk"" ?? Our playist has over 200 videos of bucking & roping stock being abused.
yall city slickers dont know anything about rodeo so stop putin stuff like this out there an makein us cowboys look bad. i think yall just need to sit down an talk to one of us hell i'd be glad to talk to yall so everyone know we all are not bad !!!!!
@rodeoboy181 ""so stop putin stuff like this out there an makein us cowboys look bad."" That's rodeo doing that. What we post is little different than what rodeo and its supporters post. Except rodeo and its supporters don't film or edit out the animal injuries and deaths and we show them.
Well count me in! I'm gonna continue supporting the Cheyenne frontier days! Let's go boys! call me what u like cause u don't know me...go watch for your self instead of listening to what the quack is saying...it's not abuse... Far from it
@hthrprtt People can clearly see for themselves how the PRCA & CFD treats the animals. The only difference between our videos and the rodeo propaganda CFD posts is CFD makes sure animal injuries are edited out. We show them.
There is definately something wrong with his hind legs. And the comment about a unbroke saddle horse acting like that because he's not used to it doesn't make any sense. That horse was hurt not acting up and anyone with a brain should know that. Thank you SHARK for all your great work.
@mightymouth4ever We appreciate that, but one of the best ways to help is to share the videos and information with everyone you can. There animals need all the voices they can get.
@KlissaVideos We appreciate hearing from you. One of the best ways to help is to share the videos and information with everyone you can. Awareness is the key to getting laws changed to protect the animals.
That horse is clumsy!! LOL I guess glue or dogfood is his future. Oh well....bring on some more bareback riding!!!!! Thanks for the videos we really enjoy them!!!
@SHARKonlineorg I understand that, but a lot of the videos say "Horse Killed" but when the animals leave (without being put on the sled) How do you know they initially died? Im just curious, Im not trying to say what they are doing is right because it OBVIOUSLY isnt. Anyone who thinks that it is right is a idiot.
@MankinJessica The videos where we say the horses were killed, the horses were killed because of what they was forced to do in the rodeo. In those cases, the deaths were even the rodeo admitted, which is surprising as we've filmed animals over the years that were certainly in need of being put down after their injuries, yet the rodeo stated they weren't even injured.
horses get hurt just out to pasture why dont you fools read up on our history ya know about the rancher who is just tryin to survive and feed his family it wasnt a big fuss then! you are all sad and lonely and need to find a real job... that horse has a job and he loves doin it otherwise he would be broke to ridee and would be i dont know running barrels or something like that u ever stop to think about that.
@kristydiggs1 so what you're saying is, because you are trying to "survive" it's ok to abuse and mistreat the horses? I've owned horses nearly 20 years and none of them died in the pasture. Though I'm sure it's possible if you keep a horrible pasture full of crap they can hurt themselves on fine. No excuse. sorry.
why would you make a horse carry your wait while bucking? i dont even make my horses walk up or down to steep a hill or rocky terrain with me on, we both just walk, but this? what the hell
Horses like this love what they do this is a sport to them and sometime they get hurt. That horse looks in good shape I'm sure he gets feed every morning and every night!! They are not hurting any animal here!
@TheNAPPY85 scaring the helll out o fsomething till it bucks is love? getting slammed into double decker trailers whch has even killed some of our cattle? have crap tied around them and applausing their death for sport is love? webster should really edit the word "love" in the dicitonary then cuz its a bit off
With all do respect, I believe that the horse is fine, he fell several times but while walking out of the arena he did not limp nor act injured. The horse just fell down, nothing worth making a fuss about.
@cgriff96 if my horse fell down like that, hed be in a confortable stall with a blanket and a vet would be arriving extremely soon not dragged out by a rope
these horses can't withstand a rider!!! what the hell are the doing to these horses... i've never seen this at any rodeo's i have been too, but horses here are prepped before to make sure they can withstand the weight of a rider.
so glad i rescued my BLM mustang mare when I did. she was hours to being sent to slaughter or rodeos like these... as a 1 1/2 year old.. i want to compete in rodeos. but not like this. I hate bronc riding. i ride them every day anyways when i work with this one horse who was abused. i ride him carefully but he still gets scared. and will rear and buck. but he NEVER gets hurt. check out my channel or pm me if you want to hear my plans for rescuing horses in the future! i could use some support!
@QtipAppaloosa We do have video in our playlist showing the horrors of the slaughter process horses needlessly endure. We network such videos and information it in support of the organizations that focus on raising awareness for it.
As for slaughter being 'worse' than what other animals are being forced to endure, please don't dismiss one animal's suffering as being not so bad in relation to another's. A suffering animal is a suffering animal.
@SHARKonlineorg I agree that the abuse horses and other animals are put through at rodeos are terrible, however I am saying that many more animals suffer through the slaughterhouse systems.
@QtipAppaloosa And that may be why more organizations go after slaughter house abuses than rodeo abuse. 'Not a large enough amount of animals abused to make it a priority' is the professed reason HSUS does not bother helping rodeo animals.
And that is why we focus on rodeo. Someone's got to expose the brutality they endure.
fuck all u bunny huggin cock suckers, im a cowboy and i rodeoed and a rancher and u think its abuse when its not get ur mother fucking facts straight. KILL IT AND GRILL IT TED NUGENT FOR PRESIDENT !!!!!!!!!!!!
@TheRedneckcowboy87, your daddy is the rancher, kid. You are being programmed. Fall on your head alot, did ya? Play with hot-shots for fun? Not surprised so many of you sound like flamin' lunatics. At least you didn't use the word pussy, which is another favourite. Pussy is a derogatory word used for women, by (cough) baby "cowboys".
@TheRedneckcowboy87 if an idiot abused animals on our place my grandpa would put a boot in their ass and they'd collect their pay. any decent self-respecting horseman doesn't treat animals this way. you're a disgrace to the american cowoy
to SHARKonlineorg, i dont like rodeos all i want to see is 2 things barrel racing and ALL rodeos to stop bucking broncos. These "cowboys" think its funny to see horses and bull get hurt!
to SHARKonlineorg., THIS IS SO DUMB! I HATE RODEOS! all i go to see is barrel racing! they know the horses can't do ANYTHING about so they take advantage of these horses i watch all your videos on the Cheyenne frontier days rodeo i think these cowboys are dumb
no the horse is NOT alright, it is seriously injured. How many animals have to be cruelly abused and tortured just for 'fun' & 'entertainment'. Rodeos belong in the past, it is no longer acceptable to treat these animals like this and some are only babies, for God's sake. This is shameful and should be banned. When will 'man' stop abusing animals?????????
0:37 "Save your life!" Forget about the horse's, cowboy, let your buddies drag him by the neck! It's funny when he flails his legs like a dead bug! It's okay, you'll get a re-ride!
Why do these brainless idiots think this is acceptable???
He looks a little stiff but it doesn't look too bad. Cheyenne should still help the horse out because IT does say on their website that if any major or minor injury happens, they will take care of it. But I still don't trust them. & I think that horse should of had a proper warm up before the show.
@BerrySwingingJumper, did you watch the Wild Pony race on CBC this year? How would a vet know about animal welfare, when that type of event is still so popular? One pony reared and flipped over on it's head. Animal Welfare at Calgary Stampede? Oxymoron. Several experienced broncs I watched really struggled in the chutes. But hey, the horses LOVE their job! not..
@BerrySwingingJumper The sad fact is the warm up they get is being stuck with spurs, shocked but electric shock and have a rope tied tightly around their sensitive underbelly. They don't CARE what happens to the horse in the long run. They sell the survivors who cant buck anymore at auction and most go to slaughter. I'm one of the insane people who has purchased former bucking horses and rehabbed them. The physical and mental torture effects them for a LONG time.
@bibliophilicwoman They're local & rodeo vets who will protect the rodeo, no matter what. Once in a while, one will grow a heart and conscience and stop associating with this abuse. Those that continue to condone the cruelty, suffice to say, they're no better than rodeo thugs. Perhaps worse because they should know better about the vulnerability of these animals.
To SHARKonline: You told Barrelracer11100, we need write the WYO. legislators to change the laws and thats true But all of our REPS. are into Cfd rodeo neck deep. They ALL come home for CFD. Lummis is a past Miss Frontier. Mead lead the parade on Tue. They are not going to do anything. I feel we need to go to other states to atleast get a bill started for WYO. but I don't know if that is possible. The abuse was horrifying this year and CFD lied BIG-TIME about the death count.
@wyowild555 States have individual autonomy in making their laws. And WY isn't the only state that keeps animal abuse legal in rodeo arenas. The people who care about these animals have to band together & vote the abuse supporters out of office. In the meantime, voices have to stay loud & clear against the abuse. Corporations need to know they are needlessly supporting what many of their consumers clearly know is abuse. If fighting animal abuse was easy, we wouldn't be having this conversation
so looks to me like he just wasent used to the flank strap he was traveling around just fine once they took it off and before u start with the whole bucking horse cruelty nonsense they work 8 seconds a night then and have everything given to them food rest water its not a hard life at all show horses are more abused than rough stock ever was i know people who raise bucking horses they dont do anything but eat drink and sleep wish i was one
@coyotewaits1983 ""show horses are more abused than rough stock ever was"" Thanks for that admittance that there is abuse of rough stock ""wish i was one"" No doubt you'd like to be ridden by a rodeo contestant.
@coyotewaits1983 , You are as blind as a bat, that right hind is definitely wrong. Too bad you can't see it. Oh, well, go ride your horsie. Hopefully someday you'll learn more about lameness and injuries in horses. "everything given to them " including a brutal death. Disgusting. You also don't understand fitness in horses. But hey, why would you? More fun to buck 'em, I guess:(
@coyotewaits1983 I hope you don't actually think that O.o I show my horses and they ARE never treated like this, and its bullshit that you think they get feed like a regular horse or even treated like one. People dont even wanna come close to an untrained horse. What world did you come from, because it's obviously not earth.
wow you idiots wouldnt be here today without the cowboys who brake horses to develop our country and clearly at the end of the video the horse is fine and the the vet was there to make sure he didnt pull something and every animal is checked so if you dont like rodeo dont watch
I take it everyone here is a vegetarian? I dont see it as abuse. This kinda stuff has been going on for a very long time, as far as bull riding and the bucking horses. Its tradition of the midwest and I find it hard to believe anyone here can really break that tradition of Cheyenne that has been going on for 115 years now. I feel bad for the animals but it is what it is. What about all the cows that die for their meats? What about the hunters, like myself, killing deer and antelopes? Good luck.
@r0bl4x , wow. No, I am not vegetarian. I would hope that we are evolved enough to not want to injure and torment these animals we raise for their meat. Hunters are another issue, m'kay? If you don't see abuse, you don't understand animal behaviour at all. But hey, go shoot something! It's the American way! Look how far it has gotten your country! Beloved, around the world! (That was sarcasm, in case you missed it.)
Look at how FAST they work to move the horses around the horse so the audience can't see the horse continue to stumble. What happened to this horse? Any injury report released? Looks like he was injured up high in the hip/haunch or something. I knew a woman who had a jumper who messed up his him and the movement was very similar. Couldn't figure out where/how to distribute his weight.
@skippythewonderhorse CFD whitewashes every injury they can get away with. They'll say this was normal actions of a bucking horse and expect the public to be stupid enough to buy into that.
It's so ironic to hear the crowd shudder, sigh and exhale "awes" when the animals fall. I mean - What do they expect? They pay money for the "action" - Certainly in that "action" there is injury to unwilling, nonhumans too. I really wish they would just put their thinking caps on instead of conveying the alligator tears and false sympathies. Don't want animals abused? Don't support places and practices that abuse! Simple I'd say...
Don't get me wrong- I don't think animals should be mistreated. But I also don't think they were meant to be treated like humans. Sometimes I wonder why some people get all horrified that animals aren't being treated like humans, when there are humans out there being treated like animals. Why don't we share that horror with things like world hunger, violence, rascism and human rights violations among us humans?
@equidreams Since when does not mistreating animals means that's treating them like humans? You don't think it's possible to simply treat them like animals without harming them?
And really, what's the difference anyway? A life is life. Mistreating a life for entertainment or any other purpose is wrong on all levels.
@SHARKonlineorg *shrug* Okay. Did you miss the part where I agreed that it's wrong to mistreat animals? Let me know when you start posting videos of your outrage over *human* rights violations, and your comment that "...what's the difference anyway? A life is a life." will be carry more weight. I'm not trying to be inflammatory, just voicing my thoughts..
@equidreams You can't understand why an animal welfare organization isn't covering human rights violations? Go ask your local humane society, animal rescue or shelter personnel. Perhaps they can explain it to you in a dialect you'll understand.
yeh these are specially bred to buck......whatever ..if they were that special they wouldn't need a strap round the flank to buck !!!!!! and if they were that special they might be loved or cared for and not put to this horrid death and injury just because MAN thinks its tradition.............well wasnt it tradition to beat the black guy and enslave him in history .................yeh well some traditions deserve to die
@greatbigbuddy how would u like it if I said everyone from where u are is a liar? I never said your opinion shouldn't be voiced but saying that everyone from an entire state is a liar is just stupid. U don't know me, u don't know my family, u don't know my friends, and u don't know every person in Wyoming. I personally don't like steer roping and those kinds of events, nobody here I know does. An OF COURSE we have vets at the rodeo! Are u crazy? Who do u think immediately ran over to the animals
this people are pathetic i shouldnt even call them "human" because a real person has a heart and this.... this is just a stupid little game to them i hope they rot all of them i dont care
Cheyenne Rodeo 2011 outrider training sessions: When an animal is fatally injured create a visual barrier with your horses. When a bucking horse is injured fatally get it out of the arena FAST. Did you see how quickly that horse was removed from the arena and the spectator riders cleared the exit gate !!!!! That poor horse bless his soul....can't imagine he survived that horrible crash it looks like he blew his stifle too....
The flank strap was NOT "in a bind". The flank strap is the reason the horse went nuts. Take off the flank strap, you tiny-minded cretins, and see how much the horse bucks. No fun in THAT, is there? The horse and his mouth, gaping in fear, utterly ignored. The horse did not leave the arena sound, don't kid yourselves. Permanent damage has been done. Any time a horses stifles do that, you've basically ruined them. The horse exploded.
Have they done something different with the 'bucking strap' ? All the injured horses you've shown have almost the same behavior in their bucking/kicking of their back legs. Have they managed to put shocking devices in the straps? The animals are definitely being tortured and injuring themselves trying to escape something that is attached to them.
@TipTheDealer Not that we suspect. This is just normal kicking frenzy from horses trying to get the strap off. The difference is, we're there to record it. If we weren't, you wouldn't be hearing about these animals' injuries and deaths. Perhaps local WY news would cover one, maybe two, but it wouldn't go any farther to the public; and WY news isn't digging any further to the injured animals the rodeo isn't admitting to.
@SHARKonlineorg I couldn't help thinking about this on my drive to work today. Remember those 'hand buzzers' that would shock the person you shook hands with? You've already outed PRT (Professional Rodeo Thugs) for shocking animals on camera... they HAVE to jolt these tame animals into 'wild horse' behavior somehow...? Thanks for all u r doing SHARK, keep up the good work!
@TipTheDealer You bring up a good point. Shocking at the chutes is finally banned at CFD, but only the thugs know what they're doing to the animals behind the chutes before they bring them out.
This is awful, is there anything you guys can do (shark) to stop this?! before anyone says anything about my user name, i dont like competing in shows, i just love to ride, and i love trail riding. i love western riding, but i HATE rodeos, they are cruel, to all animals! i wish i could help, but i cant :(
@BarrelRacer11100 It's going to take getting the laws changed to get rid of the exemption of these animals in the cruelty laws. Wyoming legislators need to hear from everyone, whether you live there or not. Animal abuse knows no state or country borders. The fact they abuse these animals and call it "American tradition" should raise the hackles of every single decent American in this country. Don't think you can help? You have a voice and the ability to put it into words. Use it. Thank you.
DAMN! I'm glad I am not close to this place, I'd be in jail right now for sure!! But if they moved this abuse to Florida, at least I know I could kill these bastards AND get away with it! I HATE these people....
Yes, that poor horse is probably dead now :( When are we going to see these cowards surrounding a fatally injured "cowboy"? That's what I want to see!
These videos need thousands more views too, I copy them to Craigslist but we have to get them seen by more people.
@FlipOrlando Ahhh, But sadly there is abuse in Florida, I reported it to the police, but i don't think they did anything. Maybe with more complaints the bastards would get shut down. The horses are saddled up all day and put in... well best way to describe them is tents, Some have serious sun burn and some are dehydrated, Others are just terrified. Check it out, It's called " Sun City Stables" It really is sickening, they have other animals there too that are in poor condition.
@GemGem626 Don't just report it once and expect or hope something's done. If after reporting it nothing is done, report it again. And again. Alert humane societies, tv stations, the newspapers, anyone, everyone you can.
@TheFlowerGangster Yes, they're all about the people who choose to do this being injured. No sympathy for the animals they force to perform. We're not surprised. Please do voice your opinion and questions.
it's disturbing how the people in the audience go "aww" and seem to show some sort of sympathy when the horse goes down, yet they will all probably go to the next rodeo. I also can't stand how the announcer keeps saying "he's alright, just the girth, see it all the time in saddle horses".
Looks like another back injury. Just like poor Checkmate.
A horse's back is fused and no matter what it may look like, it is immoble. Falling like that @ :23, will injure the vertibae. More then likely, this horse is already dead.
thehorse.com mentioned Checkmate's death and stated "Thousands of animals are used in rodeo-style CFD events, and less than 1% sustain injuries, according to the statement."
@LoonaBolti Thanks for your post. That statement only goes to show they don't care about the individual animals, only that the statistical numbers are in their 'favor'; which is bullcrap, as well, because it's been proven they don't admit many of the injuries we've video-documented over the years.
Stupid idiot announcer!!! I'd be arrested if I were there! Someone would have shot me or something, or maybe herded me to a hidden back lot to finish me off! I would not be able to control myself if I saw this. I'm about to tear up this computer right now, but I will try to calm myself down and just remember to stay away from this kind of "fun" and spread the word about crap like this. Thanks, SHARK, for exposing the torture of Lizard. I know it's hard for you guys, too.
NO, Mr. Announcer, it is NOT funny. The horses' fear and panic, coupled with the cruel rigging, accomplished this pointless cruelty. Horses don't party, Mr. Announcer. I guess your brains, numbed by drink, cannot see the obvious. Horses that have never been saddled need to be treated quietly and kindly. NOT this way.
Wow, how hilariously funny, watching that poor horse swimming and flopping like an injured fish. NO, Cheyenne, that is NOT normal, and NO, announcer, that is NOT how a young horse normally acts after he's first felt a saddle on his back. Looked to me like he hurt himself very badly. Cruel stupidity is easy to watch, when we go to the rodeo.
those people aren't human.. they are just robots who have no feeling for other things.. sure, they would go to DRASTIC measures if a human was injured.. but for a horse? nothing. it's a shame to man kind.
@greatbigbuddy How dare you say that all people from Wyoming are liars!!! U have probably never met anyone from here and u don't know shit and neither does this stupid ass SHARK manipulating prick, saying that we purposely hurt animals and that they are abused. Its almost laughable how ignorant u people are. We all agree that the announcer may say some things that are inappropriate but 99% of the cowboys here care for the animals in the most respectable way.
@OfficialShannonRosie yes 'cowboys' let young calfs get roped around the neck nearly getting there neck snapped the way they pull the rope that is good respet isint it
and knowing that horse was injured he still stayed on he could of fell off to stop some of the pain and don't bother saying theres vets there cause theres not if there was this wou;dnt be happening the now!!
@OfficialShannonRosie if the rodeo crowd represents Wyoming then consider the source-Liars. my grandfather was a cowman and passed in casper, wyoming. so yeah, i do know you rodeo people purposely put these animals in activity you know darn well results in this horror. even city people know a busted leg is lethal since you don't spend hundreds to repair them IF they can be repaird. there's amazing vet medicine out there, but not for rodeo animals.
@OfficialShannonRosie i dare voice my opinion of these blatant abuses because my son spilled his blood on the desert of iraq to make sure i have that freedom. THE RIGHTEOUS MAN CARES FOR THE NEEDS OF HIS ANIMAL deliberately harming them is wrong. my opinion is a fact on video that the rodeo people LIE to try to cover their cruelty. another fact, manure shouldn't come from your mouth, for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks-see what's in yours-
i cant beleive people are laughing- the animal is obviously injured- after watching more horse injury videos you have taken- it seems to be common the way the horses all fall with their hind legs and are then injured. shocking. really shocking.
@showjumper1990 it seems young horses with limited exercise are having these problems. i've seen other horses constantly trip with their rear feet at play, but after months of good exercise that disappears. rodeo stock laze around during off-season. then all at once they're expected to do this violent moves.

I am a horse person, I have been working with horses for 16 years now.
That horse belives that he is fighting for his life. I can figure out what he is falling on, but I belive it to be a line of robe on his legs.
Shame on people who do this kind of stuf, and shame on those who watch and do nothing!

@TeJay44 If a horse is cut in half, he's not fine. Next time you use the word dumbass, be looking in the mirror.
SHARKonlineorg 1 month ago
This is the second video I have watched and I can't figure out why he is stumbling. It could be any number of things but he does look exghausted/week. As for the announcers thier job is to keep the audience laughing or intrested and it isn't right to keep them in the dark. I'm sure they acknowledge that the horse is injured they just can't say anything about it or maybe your right and they just don't want to acknowledge it. I would really like to find out what caused the horse's staggering...
weeeeeeeeeee5 1 month ago
@weeeeeeeeeee5, have you ever cinched a horse up too tight, too quick? They can fall down. Either a rigging/cinch OR flank can be TOO tight. Painful tight. Scary, make the horse panic type, because he's basically being "cut in half" as another commenter mentioned. Of course, the other commenter seems to think there's nothing wrong with that. But after all, this is rodeo-land, where standard rules of horsemanship do not apply.
AnimalLeftist 4 weeks ago
@AAAYTie People need to no this is the rodeo spirit and YES they are bred to buck and i no because there is a stallion standing at stud and he is bred to buck so yea
TheBarrelsGirl 1 month ago
@TheBarrelsGirl Bucking/kicking is an individual animal's tendency. Not something bred into them. The sheer number of animals rodeo stock contractors dump into slaughter or ditches proves that. It's the flank strap that forces the buck out of an animal. Most of Bodacious' offspring have been duds by bucking standards.
SHARKonlineorg 1 month ago
You post all these videos of "abuse" do u even have horses?? Accidents happen in every sport...I've been to many rodeos and haven't seen the animals get hurt...rodeo animals probably get better care then you do...maybe you should start posting the whole story and not just your side of it!
missy8538 1 month ago
@missy8538 Go tell rodeo to post the animal injuries and deaths which they conveniently leave out of their broadcasts. After all, that's their side of it.
As for rodeo animals getting better care, being forced to limp out or needing to be carted out of the rodeo arena because they can no longer walk, is not 'good care'.
SHARKonlineorg 1 month ago
that horse had a bone problem....
crisfromro 1 month ago
They play that high pitched tone whenever an animal seems to be injured. It's a weird message to the crew to cover up/take the animal away. I noticed this from your vids, SHARK.
180DegreeMason 1 month ago
God i go to rodeos all the time and some times compete and people should no these horses where bred to buck god dam it and the only time the people have to 'kill' the horse is it has snapped a bone and other wise they are fine bloody hell people.
TheBarrelsGirl 1 month ago
@TheBarrelsGirl Nice flip comment about horses being 'killed' for snapping a bone. You validate what we've been saying all along about the dismissive attitude rodeo people have towards the animals.
SHARKonlineorg 1 month ago
@TheBarrelsGirl Were these horses bred to break bones as well? That horse barely looks three or four years old...A broken stifle( the remains of the equine knee) is something that cannot be fixed and i think if that horse hadnt been baited to buck so 'wildly' he wouldn't fell down like that. I doubt that horse survived the day..
GoGadgetHookerClean 1 month ago
@GoGadgetHookerClean Yes that horse did survive the day and he is fine and the horses are not bred to break bones aswell i dont see people complaining about bull bucking and horse bucking has the same risk either one if the animal breaks a bone they have to be put down

MankinJessica 2 months ago
@MankinJessica The videos where we say the horses were killed, the horses were killed because of what they was forced to do in the rodeo. In those cases, the deaths were even the rodeo admitted, which is surprising as we've filmed animals over the years that were certainly in need of being put down after their injuries, yet the rodeo stated they weren't even injured.

The horses used at Cheyenne are too young and too skinny for this. No wonder they have so many injuries.
SmokeyHickChick 5 months ago
SHARK, do you put any efforts toward horse slaughter, because although this is bad, slaughter is worse by miles.
QtipAppaloosa 5 months ago
@QtipAppaloosa We do have video in our playlist showing the horrors of the slaughter process horses needlessly endure. We network such videos and information it in support of the organizations that focus on raising awareness for it.
As for slaughter being 'worse' than what other animals are being forced to endure, please don't dismiss one animal's suffering as being not so bad in relation to another's. A suffering animal is a suffering animal.
SHARKonlineorg 5 months ago
@SHARKonlineorg I agree that the abuse horses and other animals are put through at rodeos are terrible, however I am saying that many more animals suffer through the slaughterhouse systems.
QtipAppaloosa 5 months ago
@QtipAppaloosa And that may be why more organizations go after slaughter house abuses than rodeo abuse. 'Not a large enough amount of animals abused to make it a priority' is the professed reason HSUS does not bother helping rodeo animals.
And that is why we focus on rodeo. Someone's got to expose the brutality they endure.
SHARKonlineorg 5 months ago
@QtipAppaloosa True. I'm not trying to argue, I fully support what you do and hope you continue to succeed, I was just inquiring.

BerrySwingingJumper 6 months ago

SHARKonlineorg 6 months ago
@BerrySwingingJumper, did you watch the Wild Pony race on CBC this year? How would a vet know about animal welfare, when that type of event is still so popular? One pony reared and flipped over on it's head. Animal Welfare at Calgary Stampede? Oxymoron. Several experienced broncs I watched really struggled in the chutes. But hey, the horses LOVE their job! not..
AnimalLeftist 6 months ago
@BerrySwingingJumper The sad fact is the warm up they get is being stuck with spurs, shocked but electric shock and have a rope tied tightly around their sensitive underbelly. They don't CARE what happens to the horse in the long run. They sell the survivors who cant buck anymore at auction and most go to slaughter. I'm one of the insane people who has purchased former bucking horses and rehabbed them. The physical and mental torture effects them for a LONG time.

can you get the veterinarians to come forward with info or stats regarding injuries/deaths? are they local vets or the rodeo vets?
bibliophilicwoman 7 months ago
@bibliophilicwoman They're local & rodeo vets who will protect the rodeo, no matter what. Once in a while, one will grow a heart and conscience and stop associating with this abuse. Those that continue to condone the cruelty, suffice to say, they're no better than rodeo thugs. Perhaps worse because they should know better about the vulnerability of these animals.
SHARKonlineorg 7 months ago
To SHARKonline: You told Barrelracer11100, we need write the WYO. legislators to change the laws and thats true But all of our REPS. are into Cfd rodeo neck deep. They ALL come home for CFD. Lummis is a past Miss Frontier. Mead lead the parade on Tue. They are not going to do anything. I feel we need to go to other states to atleast get a bill started for WYO. but I don't know if that is possible. The abuse was horrifying this year and CFD lied BIG-TIME about the death count.
wyowild555 7 months ago
@wyowild555 States have individual autonomy in making their laws. And WY isn't the only state that keeps animal abuse legal in rodeo arenas. The people who care about these animals have to band together & vote the abuse supporters out of office. In the meantime, voices have to stay loud & clear against the abuse. Corporations need to know they are needlessly supporting what many of their consumers clearly know is abuse. If fighting animal abuse was easy, we wouldn't be having this conversation

Good luck.

Simple I'd say...
beaelliott 7 months ago
Don't get me wrong- I don't think animals should be mistreated. But I also don't think they were meant to be treated like humans. Sometimes I wonder why some people get all horrified that animals aren't being treated like humans, when there are humans out there being treated like animals. Why don't we share that horror with things like world hunger, violence, rascism and human rights violations among us humans?
equidreams 7 months ago
@equidreams Since when does not mistreating animals means that's treating them like humans? You don't think it's possible to simply treat them like animals without harming them?

Cheyenne Rodeo 2011 outrider training sessions: When an animal is fatally injured create a visual barrier with your horses. When a bucking horse is injured fatally get it out of the arena FAST. Did you see how quickly that horse was removed from the arena and the spectator riders cleared the exit gate !!!!! That poor horse bless his soul....can't imagine he survived that horrible crash it looks like he blew his stifle too....
clickerchicks 7 months ago
The flank strap was NOT "in a bind". The flank strap is the reason the horse went nuts. Take off the flank strap, you tiny-minded cretins, and see how much the horse bucks. No fun in THAT, is there? The horse and his mouth, gaping in fear, utterly ignored. The horse did not leave the arena sound, don't kid yourselves. Permanent damage has been done. Any time a horses stifles do that, you've basically ruined them. The horse exploded.
AnimalLeftist 7 months ago
Have they done something different with the 'bucking strap' ? All the injured horses you've shown have almost the same behavior in their bucking/kicking of their back legs. Have they managed to put shocking devices in the straps? The animals are definitely being tortured and injuring themselves trying to escape something that is attached to them.
TipTheDealer 7 months ago
@TipTheDealer Not that we suspect. This is just normal kicking frenzy from horses trying to get the strap off. The difference is, we're there to record it. If we weren't, you wouldn't be hearing about these animals' injuries and deaths. Perhaps local WY news would cover one, maybe two, but it wouldn't go any farther to the public; and WY news isn't digging any further to the injured animals the rodeo isn't admitting to.

And again. Alert humane societies, tv stations, the newspapers, anyone, everyone you can.

that poor horse :( it's really sad to see the horses injured like this
and to see so much cruelty in this world
SazuXkittyXmi 7 months ago
@TheFlowerGangster Yes, they're all about the people who choose to do this being injured. No sympathy for the animals they force to perform. We're not surprised. Please do voice your opinion and questions.

I am a vet tech and this looks like an injury to the stifle joint or hip displacement to me. More horse he has to be in a lot of pain :(
Datakins7 7 months ago
it's disturbing how the people in the audience go "aww" and seem to show some sort of sympathy when the horse goes down, yet they will all probably go to the next rodeo. I also can't stand how the announcer keeps saying "he's alright, just the girth, see it all the time in saddle horses".
cammarkgross 7 months ago
Looks like another back injury. Just like poor Checkmate.
A horse's back is fused and no matter what it may look like, it is immoble. Falling like that @ :23, will injure the vertibae. More then likely, this horse is already dead.
thehorse.com mentioned Checkmate's death and stated "Thousands of animals are used in rodeo-style CFD events, and less than 1% sustain injuries, according to the statement."
BULLSHIT!
LoonaBolti 7 months ago

AnimalLeftist 7 months ago
Wow, how hilariously funny, watching that poor horse swimming and flopping like an injured fish. NO, Cheyenne, that is NOT normal, and NO, announcer, that is NOT how a young horse normally acts after he's first felt a saddle on his back. Looked to me like he hurt himself very badly. Cruel stupidity is easy to watch, when we go to the rodeo.
AnimalLeftist 7 months ago
The bad news never stops. Rodeo=Bad News! Shame on the sponsors that suport this type of activity.
eatmycakeshow 7 months ago
those people aren't human.. they are just robots who have no feeling for other things.. sure, they would go to DRASTIC measures if a human was injured.. but for a horse? nothing. it's a shame to man kind.

OfficialShannonRosie 7 months ago
@OfficialShannonRosie yes 'cowboys' let young calfs get roped around the neck nearly getting there neck snapped the way they pull the rope that is good respet isint it
and knowing that horse was injured he still stayed on he could of fell off to stop some of the pain and don't bother saying theres vets there cause theres not if there was this wou;dnt be happening the now!!
horseloveer123804 7 months ago
@OfficialShannonRosie if the rodeo crowd represents Wyoming then consider the source-Liars. my grandfather was a cowman and passed in casper, wyoming. so yeah, i do know you rodeo people purposely put these animals in activity you know darn well results in this horror. even city people know a busted leg is lethal since you don't spend hundreds to repair them IF they can be repaird. there's amazing vet medicine out there, but not for rodeo animals.
greatbigbubby 7 months ago
@OfficialShannonRosie i dare voice my opinion of these blatant abuses because my son spilled his blood on the desert of iraq to make sure i have that freedom. THE RIGHTEOUS MAN CARES FOR THE NEEDS OF HIS ANIMAL deliberately harming them is wrong. my opinion is a fact on video that the rodeo people LIE to try to cover their cruelty. another fact, manure shouldn't come from your mouth, for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks-see what's in yours-
greatbigbubby 7 months ago
i cant beleive people are laughing- the animal is obviously injured- after watching more horse injury videos you have taken- it seems to be common the way the horses all fall with their hind legs and are then injured. shocking. really shocking.
showjumper1990 7 months ago
@showjumper1990 it seems young horses with limited exercise are having these problems. i've seen other horses constantly trip with their rear feet at play, but after months of good exercise that disappears. rodeo stock laze around during off-season. then all at once they're expected to do this violent moves.
